Jonathan Majors
The Man in My Basement teaser trailer: Corey Hawkins, Willem Dafoe psychological thriller is coming soon
Jonathan Majors
Back in March of 2022, it was announced that Jonathan Majors was set to star in and executive produce the psychological thriller The Man in My Basement, which is based on the Walter Mosley novel of the same name (pick up a copy Here) and would mark the feature debut of writer/director Nadia Latif. But then, as we all know, things fell apart with Majors for a while and he was replaced in the cast by Corey Hawkins (The Last Voyage of the Demeter), with Willem Dafoe (Poor Things), and Hawkins’ 24: Legacy co-star Anna Diop signing on as well. The finished film will be coming to theatres and Hulu sometime this fall – and the marketing has begun with the unveiling of a teaser trailer, which can be seen in the embed above.

Hawkins plays Charles Blakey, a man living in the African American neighborhood of Sag Harbor, who is out of work,...

Willem Dafoe Is a Summer Tenant Tormenting Corey Hawkins in ‘The Man in My Basement’ Teaser
Image
Willem Dafoe is deepening his hold on the modern thriller: The acclaimed actor is putting his talents to the adaptation of Walter Mosley’s novel “The Man in My Basement” alongside “The Color Purple” standout Corey Hawkins. Dafoe stars as Hawkins’ unexpected summer tenant who has ill intentions…

The logline reads: “Down on his luck, Charles Blakey (Hawkins) agrees to rent his basement to a mysterious stranger (Dafoe), unaware he may be letting in a force much darker than he imagined.” The film is set in 1994 Sag Harbor, New York, with Charles on the verge of losing his ancestral home to foreclosure. Anna Diop co-stars.

Nadia Latif makes her feature directorial debut with “The Man in My Basement.” She opted to have the film take place a decade before the novel is set (in the early 2000s) to coincide with the backdrop of the Rwandan genocide during the Rwandan Civil War of the ’90s.

Ryan Coogler Reacts to ‘Sinners’ Box Office Victory in Thank You Letter to Fans: ‘Your Response to the Film Has Re-Invigorated Me’
Image
“Sinners” director Ryan Coogler has penned an emotional open letter thanking fans for showing up in droves to see the film in theaters, writing that his heart is “bursting” with “eternal gratitude.”

Coogler’s movie, starring Michael B. Jordan as the Smokestack twins, won the weekend, grossing $48 million domestically and $63 million globally.

The only way they got to that figure, the filmmaker writes, was thanks to the fans who bought a ticket: those “who decided to drive to see the film in different formats. Who bought popcorn and a drink, booked a sitter and carpooled, and stood in the lobby afterwards and talked and made a friend. Who changed their work schedules. Who saw the film in groups. … who watched more than once, who recommended the film to others, both in person and on social media or on your text message chains.”

In the typed letter, Coogler writes about what...

‘Conclave’ Takes Home USC Scripter Award
Image
The USC Libraries announced the winners for the 37th annual USC Libraries Scripter Award, which honors the year’s best film and television adaptations, as well as the works on which they are based. This group of academics, industry professionals, and critics (for which I vote) is often predictive of the Adapted Screenplay Oscar race. Last year following its Scripter win, “American Fiction” took home the Oscar. Selection committee chair Howard Rodman announced the winners on February 22 at a black-tie ceremony at USC’s Town and Gown ballroom, replacing the usual Doheny Library.

For the third year in a row, “Slow Horses” was nominated for episodic series, after winning the past two years, but this time lost to Hulu’s “Say Nothing,” a limited series adapted by Joshua Zetumer from the sprawling nonfiction book about the Troubles in Ireland by Patrick Radden Keefe. They won for the episode “The People in the Dirt.

‘Conclave’ and ‘Say Nothing’ Win Top Honors at USC Scripter Awards
Ralph Fiennes, Isabella Rossellini, John Lithgow, and Stanley Tucci in Conclave (2024)
The USC Scripter Awards recognized Conclave and Say Nothing for achievements in adapted screenwriting for film and television. The ceremony, held in the Town & Gown ballroom at USC, awarded both the writers of the adapted screenplays and the authors of the original works they were based on.

Peter Straughan received the film award for Conclave, adapted from Robert Harris’s novel. The political thriller follows Cardinal Lomeli as he navigates the power struggles of a secretive papal election. The film has earned multiple accolades this season, including a Golden Globe for Best Screenplay, and remains a contender in the Oscar race with eight nominations, including Best Picture.

The television award went to Say Nothing, based on Patrick Radden Keefe’s nonfiction book about the Troubles in Northern Ireland. Joshua Zetumer received the honor for writing “The People in the Dirt,” an episode from the FX and Hulu series. The series features performances from Lola Petticrew,...

‘Conclave,’ ‘Say Nothing’ Win Scripter Awards for Adapted Screenplays
Image
“Conclave” won the USC Libraries Scripter Award for the best adapted screenplay of 2025, solidifying its position as the Oscar favorite in that category. The ceremony took place on Saturday evening on the USC campus in downtown Los Angeles.

The Scripter Award goes to the author of an adapted screenplay and to the author of the original work on which that screenplay was based, with screenwriter Peter Straughan accepting the award on behalf of himself and novelist Robert Harris.

“Conclave” is an Oscar nominee for Best Adapted Screenplay and it won the Scripter in a category that also included fellow Academy Award nominees “A Complete Unknown,” “Nickel Boys” and “Sing Sing.”

In the 38 years since the Scripter Awards began in 1988, its winner has matched the Oscar winner for Best Adapted Screenplay 16 times. Half of those times came in an eight-year stretch between 2011 and 2018, which was followed by four years in which the awards did not match.

The Real Reason Denzel Washington Starred In So Many Misfires In The '90s
Image
Denzel Washington's career is mostly a model of consistency. Once he officially broke through with his Academy Award-nominated performance as South African activist Steve Biko in "Cry Freedom," he deftly alternated between prestige roles and strictly commercial parts. There were missteps, but you can at least understand why he signed on to a buddy comedy like "Heart Condition;" he hadn't won his Oscar for "Glory" just yet, and the opportunity to act opposite a tremendously talented performer like Bob Hoskins surely looked appealing in theory. The movie is dreadful, but neither Washington nor Hoskins phone it in.

And yet there was a sense among some in 1992 that Washington's brilliantly multifaceted performance in Spike Lee's "Malcolm X" would put an end to such frivolities as "Heart Condition" and "Ricochet." It's intriguing to consider what might've happened had the Academy not determined that '92 was the year to honor the...

Blue Road: The Edna O’Brien Story Review – Rebellion in Prose
Image
Blue Road: The Edna O’Brien Story is an interesting documentary about one of Ireland’s most controversial and important writers. The film, which Sinéad O’Shea directed, gives a personal look at Edna O’Brien and shows how she went from growing up in a traditional Irish town to becoming a famous author whose brave writing challenged social norms.

The documentary reveals much about O’Brien’s life through old footage, interviews with people who knew him, and powerful voiceovers by actress Jessie Buckley, who brings O’Brien’s journals and diaries to life. At its heart, the movie is a deep look at a woman who bucked the suffocating expectations of Ireland in the 1950s and 1960s, making history as a female writer and speaking out against the strong Catholic conservatism of her time.

O’Shea’s method goes beyond a simple biographical sketch. She details O’Brien’s personal struggles, her troubled marriage to Ernest Gébler,...

One Of Denzel Washington's Best Movies Could've (And Should've) Spawned A Franchise
Image
We may receive a commission on purchases made from links.

Carl Franklin's "Devil in a Blue Dress" was exactly two years ahead of its time, almost to the day. The director's adaptation of the first installment in Walter Mosley's Easy Rawlins series of noir novels would've been perfectly positioned in late 1997 to capitalize on the slow rolling box office success of Curtis Hanson's "L.A. Confidential." Both films were September releases building on buzzy debuts at the late summer Toronto International Film Festival, but "L.A. Confidential" proved zeitgeisty in ways that eluded "Devil in a Blue Dress." It kicked off a noir renaissance that saw national and local film critics writing up lists of must-see black-and-white crime flicks from the 1940s and '50s for their readers. Suddenly, mainstream moviegoers were up on terminology like "femme fatale," and eager to watch Humphrey Bogart movies that weren't "Casablanca.

Jonathan Majors Hopes to Return to the MCU as Kang if ‘That’s What the Fans Want’
Image
Jonathan Majors is still open to reprising his slated role of Kang the Conqueror for the MCU — that is, if Marvel would have him back.

Majors was fired from Marvel parent company Walt Disney Co. after being found guilty of assault and harassment in December 2023. The actor had appeared as Kang in “Loki” Season 2 and “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.” The character was set to lead two MCU installments, “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty” and “Avengers: Secret Wars,” to bring in the new Phase of the franchise.

After his firing, rumors circulated that Majors was going to be recast. Instead, it was announced that Robert Downey Jr. would instead be playing the new MCU baddie Doctor Doom, with the upcoming “Avengers” film retitled “Avengers: Doomsday.” Academy Award winner Downey previously played Iron Man for more than a decade in the MCU.

However, Downey being back doesn’t mean that Majors is giving up hope.

Saoirse Ronan & Sam Rockwell Protect Agatha Christie in This Murder Mystery
Image
While names like Walter Mosley, Raymond Chandler, and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle are all floated around when discussing the greatest crime novelists of all-time, there isn’t another name that is as synonymous with the mystery genre as the great Agatha Christie. With 66 detective novels, over 20 plays, countless short stories, and several books written under pseudonyms, Christie became the most highly published author in history, behind only William Shakespeare. Although Christie died in 1976, her work is continuously introduced to new readers thanks to many great television and film adaptations. Although seeing more fleshed-out versions of her work certainly satisfies her readers, the 2022 noir caper See How They Run honored Christie’s legacy by making her a fictional character within a mystery investigation.

Corey Hawkins is following his acclaimed performance in “The Color Purple” with another prominent role that should further elevate his rapidly rising profile. He’s set to star alongside Willem Dafoe in “The Man in My Basement,” taking over a role vacated by Jonathan Majors.

Hawkins plays Charles Blakey, a man struggling to avoid foreclosing on his ancestral home who enters into a dubious business arrangement with an investor (Dafoe) that quickly takes a dark turn.

Speaking to IndieWire on the SAG Awards red carpet, Hawkins talked replacing Majors at the last minute and the rich artistic experience that the film provided.

Jonathan Majors Pushes Back on Guilty Verdict: ‘How Was That Possible?’
Image
In his first interview since a a jury found the actor guilty of assault and harassment, actor Jonathan Majors again denied striking ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari.

Majors told ABC News anchor Linsey Davis he was “absolutely shocked” by the verdict. “How was that possible?” he questioned. “Based off the evidence — based off the prosecution’s evidence, let alone our evidence.”

The “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” star specifically denies hitting Jabbari in the face, twisting her arm behind her back, and fracturing her middle finger. “I wish to God I knew” how those injuries happened, he told “Good Morning America.” There’s “no question” he did not cause them, he added.

The only thing Majors says he broke is Jabbari’s heart. He says he should have been “brave” enough to leave the relationship instead of “stepping out.” Majors maintains he was “reckless” with Jabbari’s “heart,” not her body. Jabbari...

Jonathan Majors Dropped by Marvel Following Guilty Verdict
Image
Jonathan Majors has been dropped by Marvel and his character, Kang the Conqueror, will either be recast or written out of the franchise, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The decision follows Majors’ conviction of reckless assault in the third degree and harassment on Monday.

Majors portrayed Kang in the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise, a character established as the primary antagonist for the current Multiverse Saga, much like Thanos was the keystone villain of the previous Infinity Saga. Majors debuted as a “variant” of Kang called He Who Remains in Season 1 of the Disney+ series Loki, returning in this year’s Season 2 as another variant named Victor Timely. He also starred in this year’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania as the Kang the Conqueror variant, as well as the dozens of other variants in The Council of Kangs mid-credits scene.

At the 2022 San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel announced the next two...

Majors played megavillain He Who Remains aka Kang the Conqueror in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phases 4 through 6. He debuted as the character during Season 1 of Loki in 2021, then continued on in Season 2 this year, as well as the February movie Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which made more than $476M worldwide. Majors also had back-to-back hit in Amazon MGM’s Creed III in March, which grossed over $275M.

Having stuck with the actor over the months since his arrest on March 25, WME continue to represent Majors. His longtime agent Elan Ruspoli testified briefly...

Image
Jonathan Majors was found guilty of assault in the third degree and harassment. A six-person jury reached the verdict on Monday, December 18 in New York after four hours of deliberations and three days.

Majors was found not guilty of one count of assault in the third degree and not guilty of aggravated assault in the second degree.

According to Judge Michael Gaffey, sentencing will take place on February 6, with Majors facing up to a year in jail.

The “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” actor was arrested March 25 on charges of assault, strangulation, and harassment. Later accusations surfaced of toxic on-set behavior of “Magazine Dreams” and a British filing came against Majors on multiple charges of assault stemming from various other accusers.

Marvel Execs Consider Replacing Jonathan Majors' Kang With Another Major Supervillain
Image
Jonathan Majors who stars as Kang the Conqueror in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, will possibly be replaced with a backup plan.

Variety reported that Marvel's creative team, led by studio head Kevin Feige, convened in Palm Springs during their annual retreat to deliberate on Jonathan Majors' future within the MCU. The actor is set to face a high-profile trial in New York later this month on charges related to domestic violence. This legal situation prompted discussions regarding the possibility of replacing his portrayal of Kang with the infamous character Dr. Doom. Majors, a 34-year-old rising star in Hollywood, gained recognition for his role as Kang in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and reprised the character in the Disney+ series Loki. Majors is also slated to portray Kang as the central character in the fourth Avengers film, set to release in 2026.

Loki Season 2 Director Addresses Jonathan Majors' Legal Situation
Image
With Jonathan Majors continuing to be a key presence in the Marvel Cinematic Universe amid his legal troubles, one of Loki Season 2's directors addresses his ongoing situation and what it's like working with the actor.

Speaking to Variety, Loki helmer and production designer Kasra Farahani, who directed Season 2, Episode 3, "1893," detailed his professional experiences with Majors amid the fallout from the actor's various allegations. While admitting his "surprise" about the allegations, Farahani credited Majors, particularly for the ideas he brought to filming alongside co-stars Tom Hiddleston and Owen Wilson. "It was a surprise for sure. But I don’t know anything about it, other than to say that we had, honestly, such a great experience on the set," Farahani said. "The cast was a wonderful ensemble. They all worked together super well. Tom would have an idea, Jonathan would have ideas, Owen is an idea machine. The experience on set was without any drama,...

The 10 Best Denzel Washington Movies
Image
Carrying around the label of America’s greatest living actor must be quite a tricky thing to have to do. You’re going about your business, trying to pick interesting projects, keeping yourself challenged. But people watch you and your acting, and want to know you, what makes you tick, how it feels to be one of America’s greatest living actors. Denzel Washington has managed to handle that mantle with grace, and while maintaining a very old-school kind of movie star mystique.

Washington’s endless charisma and ability to be both engagingly ironic and deeply sincere run through his most formative roles, along with a sense of conscience and responsibility – which he’s kicked against from time to time, too. Whichever way he pushes, he’s been malleable enough to find more gold.

With Washington’s latest cinematic outing The Equalizer 3 showing on big screens now, and the...

How Aunjanue Ellis Found Her Groove In ‘Justified: City Primeval’
Image
Justified: City Primeval may not be the show some expected to find Aunjanue Ellis in this summer. But the draw in playing attorney Carolyn Wilder was not the Justified brand’s cult status. Instead, the original source material is what intrigued her most.

“I’m always interested in stories in film and television that have been adapted from books. So this was from Elmore Leonard originally [and] I’m always fascinated by characters who have novel beginnings,” she told The Hollywood Reporter in an interview prior to the SAG-AFTRA strike.

Unlike Justified, where Harlan, Kentucky is the center, with Timothy Olyphant’s Deputy U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens dishing out his own unique blend of tough justice, Detroit is the setting for this FX offshoot. Traveling with his daughter Willa, played by Olyphant’s actual child Vivian, Raylan gets detoured in Detroit and tasked with catching sociopath Clement Mansell (an...

Carl Franklin at an event for Out of Time (2003)
4K Uhd Blu-ray Review: Carl Franklin’s One False Move on the Criterion Collection
Carl Franklin at an event for Out of Time (2003)
The racism in Carl Franklin’s One False Move suggests a festering pool of standing water just waiting to be disturbed. Dale Dixon (Bill Paxton), the police chief of Star City, Arkansas, casually utters the n-word while having a peaceful meal with his colleagues, one of whom is Black. Lila Walker (Cynda Williams), the mixed-race outlaw trying to avoid capture in order to see her son again, understands American inequality all too well: “Looking guilty is being guilty, for Black people,” she tells her brother. Having recently shot a white Texas state trooper in the head at point blank range, the irony of her statement is hard to miss. But that doesn’t mean she’s wrong.

Released days after the 1992 Los Angeles riots, One False Move offers a particularly prescient reflection of regional division and segregation. It sees violence as the common denominator between blue and red states, a...

Jonathan Majors' Reps Blame New Abuse Allegations on 'Immersive Method Acting'
Image
Marvel Cinematic Universe star Jonathan Majors faces a litany of fresh abuse allegations, including some pertaining to his on-set behavior, with his representatives pinning that behavior on his approach to method acting.

Rolling Stone published a detailed piece on Majors' alleged pattern of abuse dating back to his Yale University dates, citing various incidents with former partners and his aggressive nature on movie sets. Regarding the latter, Majors' attorney Justin A. Pusch pushed back against claims the acclaimed actor was abusive or intimidating in any way to his co-workers on set, pointing to his penchant for "immersive" method acting as a defense. “The allegations that Mr. Majors got physical with or physically intimidated anyone on any movie set are downright false,” Pusch said. “Everyone who has worked with Mr. Majors knows that he employs an immersive Method acting style, and while that can be misconstrued as rudeness at times, those who know Mr.

Jonathan Majors appeared in a Manhattan courtroom this morning to hear the assault charges against him. Timothy Olyphant Returns as Raylan Givens in ‘Justified: City Primeval’ Trailer
Image
Timothy Olyphant has brought his cowboy hat to the mean streets of Detroit as deputy U.S. Marshall Raylan Givens to cross paths with a violent, sociopathic killer 15 years after he left the hollers of Kentucky in FX’s original Justified drama, as revealed in the official trailer for FX’s Justified: City Primeval, which dropped Wednesday.

The series revival, based Elmore Leonard’s novel City Primeval: High Noon in Detroit, has Givens on a collision course with Clement Mansell — aka The Oklahoma Wildman — a desperado played by Boyd Holbrook, who’s already eluded a Motor City police task force.

“I see you near my daughter again, I’ll kill you,” Givens tells Mansell at one point in the trailer after seeing him with his daughter, Willa Givens, played by Vivian Olyphant.

“Not if I see you first,” Mansell responds with his own taunt as he licks his wounds after a beat-down.

‘Justified: City Primeval’ Trailer: Timothy Olyphant Returns Almost a Decade Later for Vengeance
Image
Timothy Olyphant offers salvation as Raylan Givens, close to a decade since “Justified” concluded in 2015.

Olyphant reprises the role of the Elmore Leonard protagonist in new series “Justified: City Primeval,” based on novel “City Primeval: High Noon in Detroit.”

Per the official description, having left the hollers of Kentucky 15 years ago, Raylan Givens now lives in Miami, a walking anachronism balancing his life as a U.S. Marshal and part-time father of a 15-year-old girl. His hair is grayer, his hat is dirtier, and the road in front of him is suddenly a lot shorter than the road behind.

A chance encounter on a desolate Florida highway sends him to Detroit. There he crosses paths with Clement Mansell, aka The Oklahoma Wildman, a violent, sociopathic desperado who’s already slipped through the fingers of Detroit’s finest once and aims to do so again. Mansell’s lawyer, formidable Motor City native Carolyn Wilder,...

MCU Fans Want GotG 3's High Evolutionary to Replace Jonathan Majors
Image
Marvel Cinematic Universe fans believe they've found the ideal replacement for Jonathan Majors' Kang the Conqueror, tapping Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3's High Evolutionary for the role.

Per Twitter, many Vol. 3 viewers praised Chukwudi Iwuji's performance as the High Evolutionary, insisting the Nigerian actor's display as the film's menacing villain makes him the right man to succeed Majors as Kang. Some fans claimed Iwuji's transition into Kang could easily be explained, with one saying, "I'm ok with the MCU just saying, 'The High Evolutionary was a Kang variant, and Chukwudi Iwuji will be Kang going forward,' I wouldn't mind one bit." Other fans also pushed the idea of Marvel revealing the High Evolutionary to be a Kang variant, with some posting split-screen images of Iwuji's character and Kang to boost the narrative.

Jonathan Majors' Lawyer Alleges the MCU Star Was a Victim of Racial Bias
Image
The lawyer of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania star Jonathan Majors claims the actor is the victim of a "witch hunt" and has been subjected to racial bias in his ongoing assault and harassment case.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Majors made a virtual court appearance at the New York Criminal Court for a status conference connected to his charges, including introducing new details in his case by the district attorney. While the counts and charges against Majors remain the same, the updated complaint language claims the Marvel Cinematic Universe star injured the woman's right arm and pushed her into a car, as well as previously reported lacerations to her right ear and finger. The new details replaced initial reports of the complainant suffering bruising or a neck injury.

How the ‘Snowfall’ Series Finale Found Its Tearjerking Ending With Three Ad-Libbed Moments From Damson Idris
Image
Spoiler Alert: This article contains spoilers for the series finale of “Snowfall.”

When John Singleton set out to tell the story about the effects of the ’80s cocaine business on Los Angeles, he had a clear vision in mind. He wanted something that came full circle and ultimately led into his directorial debut “Boyz ‘N the Hood,” a film that was set in the ’90s and explored the harsh realities of Black families living in South Central L.A. The movie earned the then 24-year-old his first Oscar nomination, making him the youngest and first Black filmmaker to be nominated for best director.

Damson Idris was a major part of the story of “Snowfall.” Starring as Franklin Saint, Idris carried out Singleton’s tale and vision down to the show’s final scenes. As Franklin’s story came to an end on Wednesday night, fans finally said goodbye to what...

Jonathan Majors and the Risks of Being a Bankable Movie Star (Column)
Image
It’s been a tough couple of weeks for fame, whether you’re Donald Trump, Jonathan Majors, or Gwyneth Paltrow.

Anyone living in the spotlight faces the potential for a public reckoning and with that, collateral damage. After Majors was arrested and charged with assault and harassment, the news cycle cast immediate uncertainty on his future. Now, as various Majors projects let him go, the fallout exposes a film-business fallacy. When you build projects around movie stars, you create a liability.

Majors’ attorney claims evidence of his innocence, but his agency and publicity team dropped the actor this month. So did a number of upcoming projects, including Protagonist Pictures’ adaptation of the Walter Mosley novel “The Man in My Basement,” a series of ads for the Texas Rangers baseball team, and an unannounced Otis Redding biopic from Fifth Season.

Marvel hasn’t budged yet on Majors’ future as supervillain Kang the Conquerer,...

Everything Jonathan Majors has been dropped from since being charged with assault
Image
Jonathan Majors was on a stratospheric trajectory before being charged with assault and harassment in March of this year.

The 33-year-old actor had, weeks earlier, co-presented an award at the 95th Oscars with his Creed III co-star Michael B Jordan.

He was receiving rave reviews for his turn as Marvel’s major new villain Kang following his debut in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

Then, on 25 March, New York City police responded to an emergency call over a “domestic dispute” involving Majors and a 30-year-old woman.

The actor was taken into custody and later charged with several counts of assault in the third degree, three counts of attempted assault in the third degree, one count of aggravated harassment in the second degree, and one count of harassment in the second degree.

Majors’ attorney has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing by the actor and maintained that the charges against him are false.

Jonathan Majors Faces New Abuse Allegations, Dropped from Film Projects
Image
Multiple “alleged abuse victims” have come forward against Jonathan Majors following his arrest last month.

According to Variety, a number of Majors’ alleged victims are cooperating with Manhattan district attorney’s office as part of the ongoing criminal case against the Creed III star, who was arrested and charged with strangulation, assault, and harassment on March 25th following an incident involving a 30-year-old woman reported to be his girlfriend. He is scheduled to make a court appearance in New York on May 8th.

“Jonathan Majors is innocent and has not abused anyone. We have provided irrefutable evidence to the District Attorney that the charges are false. We are confident that he will be fully exonerated,” Majors’ attorney Priya Chaudhry said in a statement responding to Variety’s report.

Earlier this week it was reported that Majors had been dropped by both his talent manager and publicist following his arrest. Apparently...

Jonathan Majors “Has Not Abused Anyone,” Actor’s Lawyer Asserts As Whispers Of Other Incidents Swirl
Image
Heading toward a May 8 hearing in New York on domestic abuse charges, Jonathan Majors’ lawyer again is insisting that the Creed III actor is not guilty of any allegations of violence.

“Jonathan Majors is innocent and has not abused anyone,” attorney Priya Chaudhry declared late Wednesday as rumors of more potential incidents swirled around her client and Majors continues to be axed by representatives and from projects “We have provided irrefutable evidence to the District Attorney that the charges are false. We are confident that he will be fully exonerated.”

When contacted by Deadline, the Manhattan District Attorney’s office had “no comment” today on Chaudhry’s assertion or whether other women had come forward to claim abuse by Majors.

The Magazine Dreams star is facing domestic violence allegations in NYC after a March 25 incident involving a dispute with a 30-year-old woman. The unnamed victim was taken to a hospital...
