  • Diagnosed and waging a private battle with ovarian cancer as early as 1980, she lasted nearly 15 years after being told she only had five years at the most.
  • She was nominated for the Tony Award as the sultry, scene-stealing mistress in "Nine" (1982), but lost to her co-star Liliane Montevecchi. Jane Krakowski won a Tony Award for recreating Morris' sizzling role in the 2003 revival.
  • Made her Broadway debut in the musical "Jesus Christ Superstar" in which she created a major stir by scaling a fifty foot high set.
  • Miss Morris began her career in the American Mime Theatre where her face was frequently hidden behind masks, limiting her to expression through her body.
  • She was an experienced stage performer, appearing on Broadway in the musicals, "Jesus Christ Superstar", "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas" and she won a Tony Award nomination for "Nine". She was scheduled to perform a musical number from "Nine" for the Tony Awards broadcast in 1982, but her stage outfit was so revealing that censors refused to let her perform.
  • Longtime friends with choreographer and fellow hoofer Tommy Tune, who used her in many of his projects including "Seesaw", "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas" and the award-winning "Nine".
  • Married stage director and choreographer Grover Dale. She was his personal assistant for the musical "Seesaw".
  • Mother of actor James Badge Dale.
  • Not only she appeared in The Rolling Stones music video "She Was Hot" (1984) as the title role, but she co-starred in Y a-t-il quelqu'un pour tuer ma femme ? (1986) wherein the title song is written and performed by Mick Jagger.
  • Following her death, she was interred at Maplewood Cemetary in Durham, North Carolina. She passed away on April 2, 1994, less than two weeks away from what would have been her 51st birthday on April 14.
  • Attended and graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts (AADA) in Los Angeles, California (1962).
  • Alumna of the AADA (American Academy of Dramatic Arts), Class of 1962.
  • Parents were James Badgett and Eloise (Chappell) Morris.
