It’s a genuine Universal horror classic that to my knowledge has never been available in a decent presentation — but The Cohen Group has come through with a nigh-perfect Blu-ray, both image and sound. Karloff is creepy, Gloria Stuart lovely and Ernest Thesiger is at his most delightfully fruity. And the potato lobby should be pleased, too.

I suppose fans of horror films will forever hope that some pristine copy of the lost 1927 London After Midnight will someday appear.

If Hollywood’s horror offerings this October have you feeling unperturbed and disappointed, a restoration of a classic in the genre will help to provide your spook-filled fix. A year after Frankenstein and a year before The Invisible Man, James Whale directed an adaptation of J. B. Priestley’s Benighted, titled The Old Dark House.

Ahead of a screening at Nyff, theatrical run at Quad Cinema, and a Blu-ray release, Cohen Media Group has unveiled a trailer for the restoration, which looks hauntingly gorgeous. Starring Boris Karloff, Charles Laughton, Eva Moore, Gloria Stuart, Melvyn Douglas, and Raymond Massey, the film follows a group stranded at a mysterious mansion. One of the upcoming shows we're very much looking forward to here on Dread is The CW's DC Comic-based "iZombie," which is set to premiere next year. The network is still working on casting, and a major role has just undergone a big change so read on for the latest!

Entertainment Weekly reports that the network has recast the role of Olivia “Liv” Moore’s mom, tapping Molly Hagan to replace the originally cast Nora Dunn.

Hagan will recur as Eva Moore, a hospital administrator and overbearing mother who watches her ambitious daughter become a zombiefied couch potato who breaks off her engagement to every mom’s dream son-in-law.

The site also reports that "Scrubs" alum Judy Reyes will guest star as Lola Abano, an artsy bohemian who becomes the prime suspect when her artist husband is murdered.

Rose McIver stars in the series alongside David Anders and Robert Buckley.

iZombie is once again reshuffling its cast.

Molly Hagan (Unfabulous) is stepping into the recurring role of Eva Moore, overbearing mother to Rose McIver’s Liv, Entertainment Weekly reports.

The good news for Hagan — whose recent TV credits also include Longmire, Switched at Birth and the TV movie Petals on the Wind — comes at the expense of Nora Dunn (SNL, Entourage), who played Eva in the original iZombie pilot.

The CW’s comic book adaptation iZombie has recast the role of Olivia “Liv” Moore’s mom, tapping Molly Hagan to replace the originally cast Nora Dunn, EW has learned exclusively.

Based on the DC Comics property, the new series stars Rose McIver as Liv, a med student-turned-zombie who works in the corner’s office to gain access to the brains she needs to eat in order to keep her humanity intact. Using the memories of the people whose brains she digests, she now helps solve homicide cases.

Olivia “Liv” Moore was a medical resident before she became a zombie, and she intends to continue working with human bodies at the coroner’s office… only now she’ll be eating them, too. Liv soon discovers that by eating the brains of murder victims, she can help solve homicide cases, bringing a whole new meaning to her living dead life. This is the start of iZombie, a new series that will air later this year, and The CW has shared a new poster that showcases three core characters.

The poster features Liv (Rose McIver) appropriately seated amongst jars of human organs in the coroner’s office. In the background on the left is Liv’s boss, Dr. Ravi Chakrabarti (Rahul Kohli), and on the right is homicide detective Clive Babineaux (Malcolm Goodwin).

"Supernatural" can be found where it is today: Tuesdays from 9:00-10:00 pm. The CW’s highest-rated series "The Vampire Diaries" stays on Thursdays, still from 8:00-9:00p.m.
