Rene Molenaar

René Molenaar (1968) has a background in theater and film. For nearly twenty years he worked for Stage Entertainment Holland, where he, among other things, was technical manager for big musicals like 'Tarzan', 'We Will Rock you', 'Mary Poppins' and 'Dirty Dancing'. In 2001 René wrote 'De Afdaling' (The descent) for Kort Rotterdam, which was directed by Tjebbo Penning. In 2018 he was responsible for the screenplay of the successful film 'Zwaar Verliefd!' (Heavily in Love) with more than 240,000 visitors to the cinema. In 2019 he attended Emmanuel Oberg's workshop Screenplay Unlimited. February 2022 saw the premiere of 'Ik wist het' (If only I knew), the romantic feel-good film for which he wrote the screenplay, also based on the book by Chantal van Gastel. He likes writing in various genres. René has been married to Sylvie Takke since September 19, 2014.
