    French music hall performer, on stage from circa 1890. Star of the Folies Bergere by 1911 (famed for her risqué 'danse de apaches') and stage partner of Maurice Chevalier. Her legs were insured for 50,000 Francs. Starred in silent films from 1908. Never married, though romantically linked to many, including Chevalier and King Alfonso XIII of Spain.
