God Of War Freya Voice Actor Wants To Explore A Spin Off For Her Character But That Isn’t Convincing Enough For Sony Santa Monica
Image
Freya, a key character in the God of War series, has captured fans’ hearts with her unique and significant journey. Danielle Bisutti, a well-known voice actor, voiced this character; as a result of her outstanding performance, this character is a fan favorite.

While God of War Ragnarök neatly finished up Kratos’ saga, and the Valhalla Dlc was a fantastic addition to the series, more God of War content is always appreciated by the community. Additionally, if Sony agrees with Freya’s voice actor, the goddess may appear on a solo journey.

With Krato’s journey coming to an end in the God of War franchise, the unclear ending of the previous game may lead to newer adventures, with potential alternatives for spin-off releases where other characters take the lead role and discover a different viewpoint on the game.

“Thor is the only one that wouldn’t be scared”: The Norse Gods vs Young Kratos Debate is Fun But Let’s Not Underestimate the God of Thunder
Image
The Norse Gods are known for their dramatic flair and over-the-top performances whenever they are about to do something stupid. The All-Father raised his children as his foot soldiers in his quest to conquer the Nine Realms and in his pursuit of infinite knowledge and power. These omnipotent beings were imbued with great power since their youth and can wreak havoc on anyone standing in their way; however, the gaming community would love to see the God of Thunder go toe-to-toe with the prime version of the God of War.

The Norse Gods would have been easily defeated if they came face-to-face against a younger version of Kratos. Image Credit: Santa Monica Studio

Kratos was fueled with rage in his younger days, especially in his quest for revenge against the Olympian Gods who wronged him. Nothing stood a chance against the Ghost of Sparta and would prefer to look the other way; however,...

Twilight of the Gods TV Review – Zack Snyder’s Norse-inspired animated series is bold, bloody, and beautiful
Image
Plot: After traveling to Jötunheimr in search of his brother Loki and finding the giants uncooperative, Thor lays waste to the entire population, save for the human-sized giant Sigrid and her fabled warrior lover, Leif. Together, they vow revenge against the gods, sparking a war that brings about the death of the Æsir and Vanir in the ultimate battle against evil.

Review: Have you ever watched superhero movies and thought, “Sure, those Norse gods seem cool, but I really expected them to be… I don’t know… bloodier?” Forget Chris Hemsworth’s jubilant quips and Mimir’s witticisms from Sony’s God of War: Ragnarok. The gods, born from humankind’s imaginations and stories, reflect our lust for power, carnal desires, and hubris. Whereas most of Hollywood’s portrayal of the gods offer tempered, toothless, and sanitized versions of literature’s all-powerful chess pieces made flesh, Twilight of Gods reminds us of how cruel,...

The God of War Spin-off With Timothée Chalamet We Need and Deserve
Image
The God of War franchise has always been known for its groundbreaking gameplay and even more impressive storytelling. The game not only created an iconic character such as Kratos, Mimir, and Atreus but also an immersive world filled with epic stories. With the recent trend of live-action adaptation, it was only a matter of time before this franchise would make a transition to the medium as well.

Amazon is already in development with the TV series for the game. | Image Credit: Santa Monica Studio

Amazon has already made quite a few strides in developing a show centered around Kratos, the all-mighty and complex protagonist of the series. However, there’s another tantalizing character who also deserves a spin-off: Atreus, Kratos’s son. Of all the actors, no one seems better to embody this role than Timothée Chalamet, a rising star with the talent and charisma to bring the young god to life.

The game featured 150 iconic PlayStation character cameos and not once you will feel like it was overdone. Initially, the creators expected to get 50 cameos since they expected a lot of partners to refuse, however, they got almost all the cameos they wanted.

“It’s the most interesting one”: God of War Needs to Explore 1 Mythology and It’s Not Egyptian or Any Other You Might Think

God of War fans are satisfied with how the developers wrapped up the Norse Saga and are already looking towards the future. All bets are off for the Ghost of Sparta after he accepts his godhood and new role as a protector of the Nine Realms but his care might stretch beyond his purview.

Now that Odin and the rest of the Aesir are out of the picture, there will always be another group of omnipotent deities that will seize the opportunity to take over. The fans hope to see the Aztec Gods be the villains of the next chapter.

The God of War franchise has been around for the past few years and has undergone significant changes and overhauls in visuals and gameplay mechanics. The gaming community has been begging for a remake of the original trilogy and the chances are higher than ever.

Remakes and remasters have been a part of Sony’s campaign to preserve older titles but this has been a long time coming. Fans are convinced that all the work the developers put into recreating older assets and models into the Valhalla Dlc is a dead end and could be a hint of something bigger.

The God of War series has taken players on an epic journey with Kratos and other characters for almost two decades now. From ancient Greece in the original trilogy and its spinoffs to the realms of Norse mythology in the last two games, Kratos has battled gods, monsters, and his inner demons.

“What could possibly give Kratos this reaction again?”: The Next God of War Game Needs to Do Something Seriously Daring to Really Bring Back the Kratos of Old
Image
While the earliest portrayal of Kratos was that of an absolute unit with no end to his rage in sight, the recent installments in the God of War series have showcased a softer and more composed side of him, which has its own tradeoffs.

The early installments of the franchise managed to gain popularity by featuring a protagonist who knows no limit and often would go overbounds displaying a pure act of spartan rage. And fans now wonder what it would take to bring this side of him out once again.

1 God of War Character Was So Powerful Even Thor Was Scared to Fight Him and It’s Not Kratos
Image
In Norse mythology and the God of War, one giant’s strength was unmatchable to the gods of all realms. He was a giant with 8 arms, wielding 4 swords. He was so feared among all the gods that even Thor, the mightiest Norse God, would dare not fight with him alone. Thor is considered the strongest warrior in Norse mythology but his might consisted of trickery and dishonourable fights.

Starkad | God of War Wiki | Fandom

In the universe of God of War, giants were usually considered a peaceful community with immense physical and magical abilities that made the Norse gods insecure. The Norse Gods resorted to politics, to wipe out anything threat to their position on the throne. And on Mimir’s advice, they did the same with Starkaðr.

10 New Features In God Of War Ragnarök: Valhalla
Image
God of War Ragnarok's only Dlc is Valhalla, a free expansion that introduces a roguelike game mode. Although its free, Valhalla does provide an epilogue to Ragnarok, which continues Kratos' story. Valhalla includes plenty of new content, like new storylines, bosses, items, and more.

The Valhalla Dlc for God of War Ragnarok is not necessarily a modest addition to the game, but it isn't a full-blown expansion either. Regardless, it manages to add plenty of new content to the game. Throughout the base game, Kratos and Atreus manage to survive the last days of Fimbulwinter and play a key role in Ragnarok, an apocalyptic event in Norse mythology prophesied to result in the death of numerous gods. Valhalla takes place after the base game's story in the eponymous mythical location.

God Of War Ragnarök: Valhalla - Who Helios Is & Why Kratos Decapitated Him
Image
God of War Ragnarok's Valhalla Dlc is not just an additional mode, but an epilogue that confronts Kratos' past as the Greek god of war. Kratos reconnects with the decapitated head of Helios, the god of the Sun in Greek mythology, in Valhalla. Helios' head is a convenient personification of Kratos' unprocessed guilt pertaining to his actions in God of War 3.

The free, roguelite Dlc for God of War Ragnarok, Valhalla, isn't just a tacked-on additional mode, but an epilogue to the base game's story which sees Kratos directly confronting his past as the Olympian god of war. Part of this new chapter has Kratos reconnecting with an apparition of Helios – or more accurately, Helios' decapitated head. In the midst of Valhalla's ever-shifting locales, Mimir's head is occasionally replaced by that of Helios, heckling his murderer as Kratos navigates amalgamations of his memories. While allusions are made to...

Loki Showrunners Reflect on Loki Saying Goodbye to Mobius in Season 2 Finale

Disney+ delivered a gem of a show with two seasons of Loki, which saw the conflicted titular character complete one of the best redemption arcs in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Tom Hiddleston's Loki has gone a long way from the capricious, selfish character Marvel fans first witnessed in 2011's Thor. In the Disney+ show, Loki was forced upon a hero's journey roadblocked with failures and difficult decisions, which culminated in a self-sacrifice of epic proportions. In a Marvel interview, Loki's showrunners spoke at length about the titular character's train of thought ahead of Season 2's final mind-blowing scenes, foreshadowed in his final conversation with Owen Wilson's Mobius.

Thor's Complete MCU Family Tree Explained
Image
Warning! This post contains Spoiler for Loki season 2, episode 3

The MCU has explored five generations of Norse gods, though Marvel's portrayal of Thor's family tree is quite different from real-life Norse mythology. The MCU has introduced Bor, Odin, Frigga, Thor, Loki, and Hela, and it has alluded to Thor's great-grandfather Buri and Thor's brother Balder the Brave. The MCU also adds a new member of Thor's family in the form of Love, Gorr's daughter, who gets adopted by Thor after Gorr dies at the feet of Eternity.

The MCU has slowly revealed a large chunk of Thor's family tree throughout the years. Marvel Studios has followed Thor since the moment his failed coronation led him to become closer to Midgard than he was to Asgard. As a result, Loki also distanced himself from Asgard to become a villain, and later, a redeemed hero. With Asgard gone after the events of Thor: Ragnarok,...

God Of War: 10 Most Ruthless Characters In The Franchise, Ranked
Image
The God of War franchise has played host to numerous ruthless characters throughout the series' history, with the gods, monsters, and heroes of both Greek and Norse mythology usually finding themselves in the midst of merciless war. That roster of battle-ready figures only grew with the 2022 release of God of War Ragnarök, which cemented the legacy of the current god of war, while continuing to shape his worldview after beginning to bond with his son, Atreus.

Kratos might be the brutal protagonist of the series, but where the supporting cast of characters can be ranked is based upon their decisions throughout the previous games, alongside how ancient lore has painted them; some of the most hated characters from God of War are very closely inspired by their real-world legends. It was never easy to survive in a setting so fueled by violent conflict, but some personalities take it a step further.

10 Details You Totally Missed In God Of War: Ragnarök

God of War: Ragnarök is so detailed, that it's extremely easy to miss some of those Easter eggs and hidden features that are designed to elevate the game and connect to previous installments of the God of War franchise. Ragnarök is easily one of the games of its year, and while the future of the series is uncertain considering the many narrative directions that it could go in, there is still so much more to dig into about the release that a new one isn't needed quite yet. After all, there are surely secrets that haven't been uncovered quite yet.

The original God of War reboot was well-known for its nod-and-wink connection to other PlayStation franchises, with the story-led single-player game ensuring that both Norse and Greek mythologies were also perfectly represented in the design. God Of War Ragnarök’s Coolest Fight Ended Up A Big Disappointment
Image
God of War Ragnarok is filled with numerous epic fights that manage to display the might of the gods, but one battle ends up being a big disappointment. The clash was foreshadowed in the previous God of War game, which promised a massive struggle that could shake the Tree of Life. Unfortunately, it seems that Mimir has a tendency to exaggerate, since the fight does not quite match his description.

God of War Ragnarok features various enemies and bosses that could challenge players' abilities, such as Heimdall with his precognition and Thor with Mjolnir. Of course, one of the most memorable fights is the final boss battle against Odin, who is the perfect villain for Kratos in GoW Ragnarok. The game has done well at portraying the All-Father as a manipulative person who is ready to do anything to achieve his goal, which makes it all the more satisfying to...

Ragnarök Doesn’t Solve God Of War’s Big Mystery: Who Blew The Horn?
Image
God of War Ragnarok told an epic story and offered a satisfying conclusion to Kratos’ story, but it neglected to answer one of the series’ biggest mysteries. While the Greek saga has its share of curious plot points, 2018’s God of War introduced a mystery that, to this day, no one has solved. The game’s developers have acknowledged that the mystery remains unsolved. They even continue to tease the fans and add fuel to the speculation.

The Norse saga has introduced plenty of enigmas to the story, like Odin’s mysterious mask in God of War Ragnarok. The biggest, by far, is the unanswered question of who blew the horn to summon the World Serpent, Jormungandr, in God of War. The horn is blown when Atreus is sick and Kratos rushes to Freya’s home for help. Atreus and Mimir are the only two in the game revealed to...

Wait, God Of War Ragnarök Has Two World Serpents?
Image
The massive Jormungandr may be one of a kind, but for a brief period in God of War Ragnarok, two World Serpents are roaming the Nine Realms. While Sony Santa Monica's recent God of War duology took several creative liberties with the ancient Norse mythology to tell its gripping tale of a father and son connecting on an epic journey across the Nine Realms, Kratos and Atreus still met with plenty of key characters and creatures from the old legends - including the great World Serpent Jormungandr. Players are first introduced to the God of War version of Jormungandr in the critically acclaimed God of War (2018), where he dwells within Midgar’s Lake of Nine and guards Tyr's Temple.

According to the fallen Goddess Freya, God of War's World Serpent inexplicably appeared in the Lake of Nine one day and has grown large enough to encircle all of Midgard.

God Of War Ragnarok: Key Norse Figures That Didn't Appear
Image
While God of War Ragnarok features a wide range of Norse gods and monsters, some notable mythological figures were sadly left out of the story. The recently released sequel has a much larger cast than the previous game did, with the game introducing new villains like Thor and Odin alongside new allies like Freyr and Ratatoskr. Where God Of War Ragnarok's Giants Might've Gone
Image
The ending of God of War Ragnarok leaves the whereabouts of the Giants a mystery, and their fate may lie in a different mythology entirely. The recently released sequel brings an end to the franchise's Norse saga, with Kratos and Atreus going head-to-head with Odin the All-Father and his Aesir followers. God of War Ragnarok ends with Atreus searching for the last remaining Giants, who supposedly fled Midgard to parts unknown.

God Of War Ragnarök: You Haven’t Seen The Last Of Tyr In Niflheim

Who God of War Ragnarök's Most Annoying God Is
Image
God of War Ragnarok features many memorable characters, but only one can take the title of most annoying. Past entries in the series have typically had particularly vexing characters for players and Kratos to turn their ire toward. This happened more often in the Greek saga, which added a sense of satisfaction to Kratos’ quest for vengeance. As he has moved on from this impetus in the Norse saga, the supporting characters have felt more understandable and relatable; however, that doesn’t mean there aren’t any annoying characters in the game.

Historically, the most irritating characters have been Kratos’ antagonists, although, his allies aren’t entirely removed from the conversation. Atreus is sometimes annoying, given his penchant for causing chaos, intentional or not. This comes with his age, so it's hard to fault him for it. God Of War Ragnarök: Is Fighting The Berserkers Worth It?

The Berserkers are the greatest foes players can face in God of War Ragnarok, and defeating these optional bosses might not be worth the effort. 2018's God of War introduced the Valkyries, optional bosses that Kratos and Atreus could fight to unlock powerful upgrades and fascinating lore. God of War Ragnarok replaces the Valkyries with the spectral Berserker spirits, which pose a comparable challenge and grant similarly useful rewards.

God of War Ragnarök: How To Find Tyr

The Norse god of war, Tyr, plays a key role in God of War: Ragnarök, and many players will seek to find him, and then find him again. While he does travel with Kratos and Atreus for a time after the game's second chapter, that doesn't remain the case.

Players should be aware this article contains a major spoiler for the game's main story, so proceed with caution.

Players who have fought God of War: Ragnarok's final boss, Odin will know that old One-Eye had disguised himself as Tyr, gathering information and manipulating everyone to his own ends. But this reveal means that the Tyr they had traveled with was not the real deal, and so leaves the question of 'where is he?' for the player to answer. The answer is Niflheim.

God Of War Ragnarök’s Cut Secret Ending Is Perfect For Dlc
Image
While God of War Ragnarok is already a massive mythological epic, a secret cut ending could be the perfect subject of a potential Dlc. The beloved sequel boasts an expansive and emotional story which takes Kratos and Atreus across the Nine Realms as they face a wide range of godly foes. God of War Ragnarok perfectly wraps up the franchise's Norse saga, but a cut storyline and side quest is worth exploring in the future.

[Warning: the following article contains spoilers for God of War Ragnarok.]

Some of God of War Ragnarok's biggest story spoilers involve Surtr, the mythic fire giant destined to destroy Asgard during Ragnarok. After Odin shockingly murders Brok towards the end of the game, Kratos and Atreus seek out Surtr in an attempt to jumpstart Ragnarok and destroy the All-Father. The affable fire giant is reluctant to take part in this destined destruction at first, because it would require combining with and killing his love Sinmara. Kratos'...

GoW Ragnarök’s Vanaheim Crater Is A Big Missed Opportunity
Image
Toward the end of the main story in God of War Ragnarok, players are able to discover a huge new section of the game's open world, but it comes a little too late to have a major impact. Vanaheim's Crater is teeming with side quests, landmarks, and lore, but by that point, players are likely to forego exploring the crater to its fullest extent in favor of finishing off the game's story. That's a shame, because it provides ample world-building that could have made the story feel more impactful if it was discovered earlier.

In God of War Ragnarok, the realm of Vanaheim is the homeland of Freya and Freyr - the Vanir gods who represent the natural world and major story characters throughout the Norse saga. Before the events of 2018's God of War, the Vanir waged war with the Aesir and their patriarch, the All-Father Odin. To bring peace to the nine realms,...

Wild God Of War Video Sees Tony Soprano Replace Kratos
Image
While the gaming world continues to celebrate God of War Ragnarok, a fun fan video images what it would be like if Tony Soprano replaced Kratos in the previous game. Played by the late James Gandolfini, Tony was the main character of The Sopranos, a critically acclaimed HBO series that told the story of a mob family living in New Jersey. The show ran for six seasons and became one of the defining TV series of the 2000s, thanks in no small part to Tony’s struggles balancing his mundane family life with his violent position as the head of a prominent crime family.

It might be easy to draw a comparison between Tony Soprano and the aged Kratos from God of War Ragnarok, as both characters are torn between raising their families and coming to terms with their violent pasts. A talented YouTuber by the handle of eli_handle...

God of War Ragnarök: 10 Actors You Didn't Know Were In The Game & Where You Know Them From
Image
God of War Ragnarök has been performing admirably as it sells more games than any other first-party game. It also is one of the nominees for Game of the Year, as well as the game with the most nominations out of all the categories.

God of War Ragnarök uses a motion capture that uses real actors for many of the cutscenes in the games. There are many notable actors and voice actors that appear in the games that players will likely have seen in previous movies, shows, or other video games. However, it can be difficult to place just who these actors are at first.

Sunny Suljic — The Killing Of The Sacred Deer

Sunny Suljic is of course best known for his role as Atreus in God of War (2018) and God of War Ragnarök. He hasn't had many major roles in movies or television and for video games, he's stuck...

God Of War Ragnarök Video Shows The Game Through Mimir's Eyes
Image
A hilarious God of War Ragnarok video gives fans a glimpse into how Kratos and Atreus’ journey looks from Mimir’s perspective. Ever since Kratos cut him free from Odin’s imprisonment in God of War (2018), the wise and quirky Mimir has served as a guide and companion to the Ghost of Sparta and his son, providing valuable insight into the Nine Realms and quickly becoming a fan favorite due to his charmingly witty personality. The catch is that Mimir is now a dismembered head dangling at Kratos’ side for most of the two-part God of War reboot series, a position that only adds to the character's humor.

A Youtuber by the handle of sdk recently posted a modded God of War Ragnarok video (via GamesRadar) that presents several major scenes from the view of the severed head of God of War's Mimir as he dangles from Kratos’ belt. It...

Odin vs. Zeus: God Of War’s Final Bosses Compared
Image
Zeus and Odin are the final bosses of each God of War saga, but only one mythic being can be the true King of the Gods. The franchise's original Greek era ends with Kratos battling Zeus, the lightning-powered King of the Olympians who is eventually revealed to be the Ghost of Sparta's father. Meanwhile, the recently released God of War Ragnarok sees Kratos and Atreus defy the manipulative Odin to determine the fate of the Norse world. There are similarities and differences between Zeus and Odin, but one is simply a more intimidating presence and greater final boss than the other.

While God of War started in Greek mythology, the series has since transitioned into an adaptation of Norse myth instead. This means that long-time fans have encountered a truly enormous range of legendary foes, ranging from the Greek hero Hercules to the massive Norse wolf Garm. However, none of...

Why Freya Is A Better Companion Than Atreus In God Of War Ragnarök
Image
Like its predecessor, God of War Ragnarok features a companion mechanic as Kratos is usually accompanied by his son and mentee, Atreus. Since the events of the first game, Atreus has grown into a competent warrior in his own right, using his dexterity and wiles to complement his father’s strength and brutality in combat. However, at certain points in the game Atreus will be absent, and Kratos will instead be accompanied by his rival-turned-ally, the Vanir goddess Freya. For those wishing to master Ragnarok’s combat, it’s arguable that Freya outmatches Atreus in her abilities.

Freya first appears as a companion when Kratos travels to Vanaheim during the main story of Ragnarok, after the quest “The Reckoning”. By this point, Atreus has been able to keep enemies off Kratos’ back, stun enemies, and use Sonic arrows. Freya introduces Hex arrows into this repertoire, which enhance elemental damage, but...

God of War Ragnarok: Why Skjöldr Is Important
Image
God of War Ragnarök boasts a large cast of supporting characters who can sometimes feel insignificant, but some, like Skjoldr, are more important than the player may realize. Skjoldr only appears a handful of times during the story, and he usually isn’t on-screen for longer than five minutes. For some, it may be pretty easy to forget about him entirely. However, Skjoldr plays a significant role in God of War Ragnarok’s story, specifically regarding Atreus’ character arc, so he shouldn’t be brushed aside so easily.

[Warning: This article contains story spoilers for God of War Ragnarok.]

Skjoldr is one of the few characters close in age to Atreus. Atreus hasn’t had much opportunity to be around other young people, having been closely guarded by Kratos, Mimir, and the Huldra brothers. During Ragnarok’s playable Atreus sections, he and Skjoldr become friends. Spending time with those in his age group allows him to bond with others and deal...

God Of War Ragnarök’s Biggest & Best Area Is Entirely Optional

Players can travel through each of the Nine Realms in God of War Ragnarok, but the game's largest and most engaging area is surprisingly hidden within a side quest. The highly acclaimed sequel takes Kratos and Atreus on a truly epic adventure as they fight to protect each other and the rest of the Norse world. Most of the largest areas in God of War Ragnarok are visited as part of the main story, but arguably the game's greatest region is entirely optional.

God of War Ragnarök: Why Heimdall Is The Best Fight In The Game
Image
Throughout God of War: Ragnarok, no fight is more satisfying than Kratos’ encounter with the Aesir God Heimdall. The God of War series thrives on its brutal boss fights with dragons, witches, and Valkyries. Some bosses, like Hrist and Mist, show off a spectacular celestial landscape, while others, like Gná, require intense focus to overcome. Yet across God of War: Ragnarok’s dozens of unique bosses, the more “human” opponents often satisfy the player most.

[Warning: This article contains story spoilers for God of War Ragnarok.]

Kratos’ fight with Heimdall engages the player by entwining the story with gameplay. Until this point, Kratos has been trying to prevent Ragnarok, Aka the end of the world. According to actual mythology that influenced GoW: Ragnarok, Heimdall is prophesied to herald Ragnarok using his war horn, Gjallarhorn. Therefore, Kratos’ first goal is to take Gjallarhorn. This motivation alone makes the Heimdall fight of critical importance to the main story… but the game doesn’t stop there.

God Of War Ragnarök Confirms Mimir’s True Identity
Image
While Mimir's mythological origins were hinted at in the previous game, God of War Ragnarok officially confirms and expands the true identity of the decapitated wiseman. Introduced in 2018's God of War, Mimir is the self-proclaimed Smartest Man Alive whose head was cut off and reanimated to free him from Odin's imprisonment. Pulled straight from Norse mythology, the beloved figure has become a staple of the series' Norse era and its colorful cast of ancient icons. However, God of War Ragnarok reveals that Mimir actually hails from a totally different realm of myth.

2018's God of War implies that Mimir, the wise disembodied figure taken from Norse mythology, is more than he appears. He is the only character in the game with a pronounced Scottish accent, for example, making him stand out from the rest of the cast. A boat tale in the game delves deeper into Mimir's origins,...

Will There Be Another GoW Game After God Of War Ragnarök?
Image
God of War Ragnarok follows in its predecessor's footsteps by telling a deeply immersive fantasy narrative, already sparking questions about whether there will be a sequel to continue the stories of Kratos, Atreus, and their fellow gods. While 2018's God of War's ending made it particularly clear that there would be a follow-up, God of War Ragnarok has a more subtle, nuanced ending to parse through. That being said, there is definitely room for a sequel to God of War Ragnarok in the future.

[Warning: The following article contains spoilers for God of War Ragnarok.]

For players interested in discovering the fates of Kratos and Atreus as soon as possible, it takes about 27-30 hours to beat God of War Ragnarok's main story. Once completed, they find that Atreus has shared with Kratos that he must seek out the remaining giants in the land on his own, and after receiving his father's blessing, he confidently ascends to his next adventure alone.

God Of War Ragnarök's Biggest Story Spoilers
Image
God of War Ragnarok is a massive game packed with rich lore, profound character depth, and emotional storytelling. It expands upon the serious tone that 2018’s God of War established and continues the story of Kratos and his son Atreus. Their relationship is much stronger after their powerful and somewhat spiritual adventure in the previous game, which saw them going to great lengths to fulfill the wish of Faye, Kratos’ wife, and Atreus’ mother, to have her ashes scattered from the highest point in all the realms. Now in God of War Ragnarok, the father and son dive into a tense struggle to prevent prophecy and stop Ragnarok.

[Warning: This article contains story spoilers for God of War Ragnarok.]

The story of GoW Ragnarok is different from actual mythology and begins about three years after the event of the previous game. The great winter known as Fimbulwinter has set in, signaling that Ragnarok is imminent. In the time between games, Kratos has continued Atreus’ training,...

God of War: Ragnarök - How To Solve All Mining Rigs Puzzles
Image
One Favour that players will receive relatively early on in their journey in God of War: Ragnarok is "In Service of Asgard," during which Kratos is tasked with shutting down three Mining Rigs within the realm of Svartalfheim. Naturally, the objective of this Favour sounds moderately straightforward. However, some players are struggling to complete the quest since there are a few notable obstacles along the way, including combat sequences and tricky puzzles to solve. Nevertheless, fulfilling Mimir's request and dismantling the Mining Rigs is an excellent early-game source of Xp and materials, as players will encounter several chests as they explore the machinery.

Modvitnir's Rig is the first Mining Rig that players will arrive at during the "In Service of Asgard" Favour in God of War: Ragnarok. The objective is to make it to the top of the machinery and destroy its core. After docking, players must make their...

What Happened To Tyr In God Of War Ragnarök
Image
Tyr’s story in God of War Ragnarok isn’t as straightforward as it seems. He plays a vital role as a pacifist and an unexpected voice for peace. Tyr offers help to Kratos and Atreus, but only if it means he can be kept away from the violence and serve as their strategist of sorts. He councils against war and preventing Ragnarok, which, by all appearances, seems like a noble and rational perspective. However, things aren’t quite what they seem with the Norse god of war.

[Warning: This article contains story spoilers for God of War Ragnarok.]Early in God of War Ragnarok, Atreus reveals to Kratos that he has secretly been investigating the Jotnar shrines they found in God of War and has discovered doorways behind them that open to the real versions of the stories depicted on the shrine’s paintings. God Of War Ragnarök Vs. Elden Ring: How The Two Games Compare
Image
God of War Ragnarok has proven to be a massive critical success, earning praise for its satisfying combat, its strong narrative drive, and its stunning visuals. The response has been so positive that it currently holds the second place for the best reviewed original game of 2022 so far - beaten only by this year’s other heavy hitter, Elden Ring. With both games taking place in a fantasy setting inspired by ancient myth, some may be wondering how the two games stack up against each other in their gameplay, story, and length.

God of War Ragnarok is the epic follow-up to 2018’s Norse mythology-centered God of War. It follows Kratos and his son, Atreus, as they battle to stymie the plans of the scheming god Odin and prevent Ragnarok, the prophesied end of the world. Meanwhile, Elden Ring follows the player’s unnamed Tarnished on a journey to reclaim and...
