First look trailer and synopsis details revealed for Season 2 of ‘Deep State’
Fox Networks has revealed the first look trailer along with synopsis details for the 2nd season of ‘Deep State’.

The new season will expand the deep state universe and introduces a range of new characters, led by Critics’ Choice Winner and Emmy-nominated actor, Walton Goggins.

It will delve deeper into the murky and political world of the deep state. Having failed in the Middle East, those powers are now turning their attention to sub-Saharan Africa and the scramble to plunder its natural resources. This is the first dirty war over clean energy. The series will also explore the origin stories of some of our favourite characters from season one alongside witnessing the fall of a hero and orchestrating the making of a terrorist in the eyes of the West.

As Season Two opens, Harry Clarke (Dempsie) and Leyla Toumi (McAdams) are still reeling from the fall out of Season One’s debacle in Tehran.

Vincent Rottiers deals with the pain in I'm Glad That My Mother Is Alive.

Co-directors Claude Miller (The Little Thief, Alias Betty) and his son Nathan Miller explore childhood trauma and its consequences on adult life in the 2009 French drama film I’m Glad My Mother Is Alive.

Based on a true story, the movie follows the life of Thomas (Vincent Rottiers), a troubled teenager who was given up for adoption as a toddler and is now obsessed with tracking down his birth mother. After years of searching, Thomas finds her and discovers that she is single, has a small child and lives in a nearby suburb. Traumatized by years of emptiness and longing for his mother, he introduces himself and starts an ambiguous relationship with her (part courtship, part obsession) that slowly drives him to an act of madness.

I’m Glad My Mother Is Alive Review [Sfiff]
I’m Glad My Mother Is Alive Review [Sfiff]

Freud would have had a veritable field day with the creepily erotic film I'm Glad My Mother Is Alive by France's acclaimed Claude Miller, and his son, Nathan Miller. That eroticism takes place largely between a mother and son. Which is wrong, of course, even though this mother gave up this particular son for adoption years before the bulk of the story takes place. The strange tale receives an added sense of singularity considering the familial relationship between Claude and Nathan. This is a bit cryptic, but you'll understand after watching the film. And I wholeheartedly do recommend you see this film. Although the I'm Glad was originally meant to be directed by Jacques Audiard (Un prophete, The Beat My Heart Skipped) thirteen years ago after he read an article based on true events. It eventually ended up in the very capable...
