Viewers assumed that if there were going to be a Grey's Anatomy spin-off, it would probably focus on the side hustles of one of the primary characters. However, it surprised fans when Station 19 premiered in 2018 as an official part of the Grey's Anatomy universe. The series focused on the lives of first responders, particularly firefighters, in a similar capacity as the surgeons of Grey Sloan Memorial. Among these unsung heroes was Dean Miller, an integral part of Station 19 and one of the few characters who left the show midway.
Several characters from both shows crossed paths in different crossover episodes where the responders and the doctors connected over their shared experiences and traumas. Dean Miller regularly popped up whenever Shonda Rhimes wanted to mix things up. The brave firefighter had an interesting and emotional arc that fitted well in both Grey's Anatomy and Station 19's narrative.

When 28 Days Later hit theaters in 2002, it instantly became a favorite among horror fans, who were enthralled with the film's fast-paced action and zombies that attacked with break-neck speed. With its themes of infection and subversive political commentary, 28 Days Later has received praise from critics and fans alike as a film that shifted the paradigm and brought the zombie film back to life. However, long before 28 Days Later, Nightmare City, released in 1980 and directed by Umberto Lenzi, amped up the speed and savagery of the zombie film while also establishing a commentary on the escalation of the nuclear arms race.
The films of Umberto Lenzi exist in multiple subgenres. In Cannibal Ferox and Eaten Alive!, Lenzi took the savagery and brutality of the Amazon cannibal film to new heights, a subgenre he had helped start with Man from Deep River in 1972. His giallo films, Seven Bloodstained Orchids,...

Station 19 joined ABC's Thursday lineup in 2018 as a spinoff of Grey's Anatomy, which is centered around the firefighters and paramedics of Seattle's fictional Station 19. Now in its seventh -- and final -- season, Station 19 began after Ben Warren (Jason George), the husband of Grey's Anatomy's Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson), decided that he no longer wanted to be a surgeon and instead wanted to serve Seattle as a first responder. When Warren joins Station 19, he begins working with a powerful, heroic group of people who put the lives of the community before their own.
Originally led by Pruitt Herrera (Miguel Sandoval), Station 19 prides itself on being a family that cares for each other. They've seen each other through marriage, divorce, children, new love, and both anticipated and unexpected loss.

I don’t often consider myself a fan of racing movies as they can feel a bit samey. Every now and then something comes along that shows a little uniqueness, but they feel few and far between. While One Fast Move certainly isn’t breaking any new story ground, I was surprised at how much its focus is on the people and their relationships with each other versus simply racing. Don’t get me wrong, the racing is great when they actually show it. But the primary focus being the relationships formed versus simply the race itself helps to make the stakes feel more grounded. A lot easier to relate to estranged family members reconnecting than someone just being really competitive and wanting to win.
I was able to talk to stars Kj Apa, Eric Dane, Edward James Olmos and Maia Reficco about the film and all of the stuntwork it entailed.

Kelly Blatz takes the reins as both writer and director for the motorcycle racing drama One Fast Move. Steering a cast of K.J. Apa and Eric Dane into the fast lane, the film follows former soldier Wes Neal as he searches for purpose on the open road. Wes finds himself drawn to the high-octane world of competitive racing, following in the footsteps of his estranged father, Dean Miller. Yet what appears to be a tale of father-son bonds and championship dreams quickly loses its way.
While Blatz shows a flair for vividly portraying the athleticism of the sport, his characters struggle to leave the pits. From its outset, One Fast Move seems poised to explore the complex relationships and gritty reality that lie beneath a streamlined surface. But the script neglects the deeper development of its people and their perspectives. Generic training scenes and formulaic conflict replace meaningful insight. Station 19, a procedural drama about firefighters in Seattle, began as a spinoff of Grey's Anatomy, though the show built its own audience over its seven seasons. Like its parent show, Station 19 was known for big emergencies and big emotions. The team of firefighters that served Station 19 came to the aid of Seattle citizens with grace and authenticity, often providing as much emotional support as they did physical support.
Though Station 19 had multiple captains over the years, they were primarily led by Andrea "Andy" Herrera (Jaina Lee Ortiz), who finally officially became captain in Season 7. By her side were firefighters like Maya Bishop (Danielle Savre), who was a former Olympic athlete, Victoria Hughes (Barrett Doss), who was Station 19's most compassionate team member, and Robert Sullivan (Boris Kodjoe), a former Marine whom Andy was married to for a while. Over the show's seven seasons, the characters experienced a lot of life,...

Exclusive: In 2017, Jason George left ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy to help launch its spinoff series, Station 19. For seven seasons, he was a series regular on the firefighter drama as Ben Warren while making frequent guest appearances on the mothership series. With Station 19 coming to an end, all signs point to him going back to Grey’s Anatomy, a return which the Station 19 finale helped set up.
According to sources, there is no deal in place and the exact capacity in which George would return to Grey’s Anatomy is unclear but talks are ongoing, and the intent is to have him back on the show where he has been since Season 6, including a series regular stint from S12-S14, before moving to Station 19. Reps for ABC and ABC Signature, which produces Grey’s Anatomy and Station 19, declined comment.
Rumblings about George potentially rejoining Grey’s Anatomy next season started in January.

Spoiler Alert: This interview contains spoilers from “With So Little to Be Sure Of,” the sixth episode of the final season of ABC’s “Station 19.”
Boris Kodjoe is ready to start his next chapter. Since wrapping production last month on the final season of ABC’s venerable firefighter drama “Station 19,” the 51-year-old actor — who rose to fame in the early aughts in the Showtime drama “Soul Food” — has set his sights on broadening his horizons.

The cancelation of Crisis One impacts Dean's legacy & Vic's work, demonstrating the consequences of Chief Ross's choices following the Mayor's orders. Maya's support for Andy's captaincy highlights their unique friendship, showcasing personal growth despite her past unhealthy career ambition. Warren's secret medication hints at his future storyline post-Station 19, while Gibson's transition to dispatch sets a new path for him.

Character departures are inevitable for most shows.
That doesn't mean we have to like them. Sometimes, a character has to go because it's necessary for the story.
Other times, the actor moves on to a new role, and the character can't continue without them.
Now and then, a character's time on a show comes to an end in a way that leaves us brokenhearted and feeling betrayed by the writers.
These exits took us by surprise, and not in a good way.
Alex Karev's Dear John Letters on Grey's Anatomy
If you ask us, Alex Karev had one of the best character glow-ups of all time, with the kind of character development we can normally only dream about. His transformation from snarky, too-cool-for-school jock to the mature, brilliant man he became was one for the ages.
But sixteen years of hard work to become the peds surgeon we learned to...

Warning: This article contains spoilers from the Station 19 season 6 finale.
The Station 19 season 6 finale saw the death of one character and a cliffhanger ending that could lead to another, though killing off both of them would be a huge mistake. Station 19 season 6 was a season full of dramatic moments and surprising twists, but the season finale was the most shocking yet, featuring the death of Dixon and the potential death of Jack. Station 19 has seen multiple characters die across its six seasons, but to kill off two major characters in one episode would be a mistake, especially given the timing of the events and the characters who would be affected.
The Station 19 season 6 finale revolved around the firefighter ball, at which Warren received a medal of honor for his heroic actions in episode 15. Unfortunately, the celebration turned sour when the floor of the ballroom collapsed, endangering the attendees. However,...
