- Melvin Millar was born on May 6, 1900. He was a writer, known for The Drew Bromley Show (2016), The Woods Are Full of Cuckoos (1937) and Porky à l'hôtel (1943). He died on December 30, 1980.
- Gag writer for Warner Brothers Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies from 1937 to 1945, a graduate of Kansas City Art School (where he met and befriended Friz Freleng). He tended to specialise in Porky Pig cartoons. There is a memorial to him in his hometown of Portis, Kansas, which Millar indirectly referred to in several of his cartoons, including Bingo Crosbyana (1936), Porky's Pet (1936) , Porky of the North Woods (1936) , and Porky's Road Race (1937) .
