  • Prior to his own noted Broadway successes, he spent much of the 1970s appearing in many touring summer stock productions, co-starring alongside a number of Broadway legends, such as Nanette Fabray, Bonnie Franklin, John Raitt, and Chita Rivera.
  • Eddie was active in the Worcester County Light Opera in the early 1970s. He led the youth program in 1971. He was an enthusiastic dancer and a good teacher.
  • He was the son of Mariam (Apkarian) and Vaughn Mekjian. His family was of Armenian descent.
  • Was voted most popular by his high school class.
  • Has one daughter: Mia.
  • Was treasurer of his high school class.
  • Upon his death, he was cremated and his ashes given to his family.
  • He was a lifelong Democrat.
