Meenakshi is grandmother of Shilpa shirodkar and Namrata Shirodkar

She shares the same name as the niece of Shantaram Rajaram Vankudre and wife of Vinayak Karnataki and mother of actress Nanda Karnataki, but that's a different Meenaxi Karnataki (also known as Susheela) . Mrs. Karnataki never worked in films. However, several online websites confuse the two Meenaxi's.

Passed away in 1997.

One of the earlier actress to wear a swimsuit for Marathi film Brahmachari 1938.This act had stunned many audiences.
