Trivia

Geoff Meed

Edit
  • Geoff was awarded his 5th Degree Black Belt Master rank in Kempo in October 2019, by Grand Master Jim Brassard. Geoff also holds a 3rd degree black belt in Hap Ki Do, and black belts in Tae Kwon Do and karate.
  • Geoff had not spoken much of his previous work in personal protection or security detail for fear of it not being well received during his acting career, but he was recruited to the private sector to be a recurring hand to hand combat instructor with the United States Marine Corps Martial Arts Program instructors. After his injury and move to Texas, he opened his own fitness and martial arts studio, Dojo Fit. He returned to Los Angeles in November 2016, to be more readily available for acting and writing jobs, and to open up another studio of his own in the near future.
  • On his second day of filming the western "Shadow on the Mesa" for the Hallmark Channel, Geoff was thrown and trampled by his horse. He suffered 8 broken ribs on his left side, broke his sternum in two pieces, a lacerated liver, and required 3 titanium plates to repair the damage done to his face. [February 2012].
  • Was a nationally ranked collegiate power lifter, and record holder in the 198 lbs. class, at The University of Texas at Austin.
  • One of the few actors who has appeared on all three of the CSI shows - CSI, CSI MIAMI, and CSI NY.
  • 2017 - Geoff returned to Los Angeles after a 4 year "break" from Hollywood following the accident filming "Shadow on the Mesa," that shattered the left side of his face, broke 7 ribs, snapped his sternum in two pieces, caused internal injuries, and required 4 surgeries over as many years.
  • Inducted into the USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame Hall of Heroes on May 8, 2010.
  • Geoff is a student of reknown Kenpo Grandmaster Jim Brassard.
  • He was an avid dodgeball player, and played in the Extreme Dodgeball League on the Game Show Network.
