Shane began his film career when he was 12, as Clint Eastwood's son in Impitoyable (1992). He got a chance to play his childhood idol on television by portraying a "young MacGyver" for a few of episodes of MacGyver (1985). He was short-listed, and brought to Los Angeles by Steven Spielberg to audition for Hook ou la Revanche du capitaine Crochet (1991).
Shane's worked alongside Ed Harris, Chuck Norris, Max von Sydow, Jean-Claude Van Damme and Stockard Channing.
