A billboard seems to have appeared above Sunset Boulevard today alluding to a reissue of Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham’s 1973 album, Buckingham Nicks — their sole record as a duo before they joined Fleetwood Mac the year after (and the rest was history).
Social media posts shared images of the billboard with the album’s cover, which features both Nicks and Buckingham topless, alongside their names, the LP title, and the date Sept. 19. The advertisement is not too far away from Sound City Studios in Los Angeles, where the 10-track album was recorded.

Could Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham be headed toward a reunion, either as a duo or with Fleetwood Mac? A new tease by the former musical partners on Instagram is stirring up some rumours (see what we did there?).

On Thursday (July 17th), Nicks posted the handwritten words on her Instagram account (see below), “And if you go forward…,” with Buckingham completing the line on his own Instagram page, “I’ll meet you there.” Together, the lines complete a lyric from their 1973 Buckingham Nicks song “Frozen Love.” Furthermore, Mick Fleetwood posted a video of himself listening to the very same song on Wednesday, and captioning it, “Magic then, magic now.”
Nicks (who has tour dates scheduled through October) and Buckingham were once romantic partners as well as bandmates, and have had a tumultuous relationship over the years. Buckingham was let go from Fleetwood Mac in...

Fifty years ago this month, Fleetwood Mac released their self-titled 1975 album, which featured two new members: a young couple named Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks.
As the story goes, the two musicians — who performed as the duo Buckingham Nicks — released their self-titled 1973 album, but it flopped and they were dropped by Polydor. Nicks began working at the Beverly Hills restaurant called Clementine’s, until their Buckingham Nicks producer Keith Olsen played the album for Mick Fleetwood. When Bob Welch left the group, Buckingham and Nicks joined Fleetwood Mac on New Year’s Eve 1974. “I said,...

Loving wasn’t always fun for one of the ‘70s most popular rock bands, but that hasn’t stopped Fleetwood Mac from ascending the charts once again. Aptly titled “Rumours,” the record was infamous for being somewhat autobiographical about the affairs and heartache that the band members were experiencing in real time. It is never too late to get into an album that has nothing but hits, but it is more than likely the sudden popularity of “Rumours” on Spotify has to do with a rumor itself.
Founding member Mick Fleetwood recently reunited with the infamous Lindsey Buckingham for a tour session. Buckingham was Stevie Nicks’ counterpart in Fleetwood Mac, and the two of them bandied back and forth songs they had written about each other before the guitarist was kicked out of the band a decade ago. HarbourView Equity Partners has acquired the rights to the producer royalty income streams of Grammy-winning producer-songwriter Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, the company confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter on Wednesday.
The acquisition marks another notable deal around Jerkins’ catalog, following the producer selling his publishing catalog to Recognition Music Group (formerly Hipgnosis Songs Fund) back in 2020. HarbourView declined to share financial details of the acquisition. Chapter Two, a Swedish music company specializing in music rights transactions, helped facilitate the deal, HarbourView said.
With the purchase, HarbourView is getting Jerkins’ recorded royalties on iconic hits like Brandy and Monica’s “The Boy Is Mine,” Whitney Houston’s “It’s Not Right but It’s Okay,” Destiny Child’s “Say My Name,” Lady Gaga’s “Telephone” featuring Beyoncé, Justin Bieber’s “As Long As You Love Me,” and Sam Smith’s “Stay With Me.” Jerkins is set to be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame next month.

Mick Fleetwood and Lindsey Buckingham have reunited in the studio for the first time since Buckingham was fired from Fleetwood Mac in 2018. News of their collaboration comes from Swedish producer Carl Falk, who has posted photos of the two working on Fleetwood’s solo album.
In late February, Falk posted a photo of Buckingham and Fleetwood in the studio on Threads with the caption, “Slightly unreal moment to sit with Lindsey Buckingham and Mick Fleetwood to play Lindsey the album we have been working on. And to see his genuine happiness for Mick to finally do his own album and offering to play guitar and to sing on it. Can’t wait to finish this one.”
More recently, Falk posted a studio shot of Buckingham with the caption, “Mick and Lindsey together again, what a flawless guitar player.”
He also shared a photo of Fleetwood in the studio with The War on Drugs.

Fleetwood Mac's "Silver Springs" is one of their most popular songs, especially among Gen Z, but what is the story behind the 1977 track? Lead singer Stevie Nicks has been known for her female rage songs long before Taylor Swift took over the music industry. Swift even referenced the singer in her song "Clara Bow" from The Tortured Poets Department. However, Nicks's breakup songs were even more powerful when she was a part of Fleetwood Mac, and the band's lore was strong enough to inspire Taylor Jenkins Reid to write Daisy Jones & The Six.
Younger generations became acquainted with the band's history when Reid's novel was adapted into an Amazon Prime series starring Elvis Presley's granddaughter, Riley Keough. The Stevie Nicks-esque party girl had a connection with her bandmate, Billy Dunne, similar to Nicks's real-life romance with her bandmate, Lindsey Buckingham. Much of Fleetwood Mac's lore is connected to that romance,...

2024 was a year of change for many people around the world, even more so for some of music's favorite bands. The rock and roll universe saw the demise of some the industry's top players - modern and classic alike - as bands called time on their illustrious careers, bowed out for alternative projects, or retired after the death of major members.
From Jane's Addiction's meltdown to Sum 41's retirement lap around the globe, the last twelve months have been a roller coaster. Yes, fans will always enjoy the ride, but as we look back at the voids in modern music's playing field, it is important to take a pause and remember some of the biggest bands to break up or retire from music. Here are 13 major bands that stepped off-stage in 2024.

Fleetwood Mac Star Christine McVie’s Shocking Descent Into Drug-Fueled Orgies & Rock and Roll Excess
The image is iconic: Christine McVie, the ethereal voice and keyboardist of Fleetwood Mac, her blonde hair cascading down her shoulders, captivating audiences with her soulful melodies. But behind the glamorous facade lay a tumultuous journey marked by excess, addiction, and a profound sense of loneliness.
In my new biography, “Songbird: An Intimate Biography of Christine McVie,” I delve into the life and career of this legendary musician, exploring the dark underbelly of fame and the devastating impact of rock and roll excess on her personal life.
McVie, a talented musician who initially pursued a career as an art teacher, found herself thrust into the limelight with the meteoric rise of Fleetwood Mac. The band’s 1977 album, “Rumours,” a raw and emotionally charged reflection of their personal and professional turmoil, became a global phenomenon.

Fleetwood Mac, as one of the world's best-selling bands of all time, are known for two things: some of the most influential rock songs of the 70s, and extremely messy interpersonal drama. Their songs have been used as the soundtrack to some incredibly memorable film moments. Plus, there was that time Mick Fleetwood was on Star Trek: The Next Generation. One of the biggest contributors to both the music and drama was lead guitarist and co-lead vocalist Lindsey Buckingham.
Although Buckingham wasn't a founding member of Fleetwood Mac, he was essential to their successes and failures both, not only because of his direct contributions, but also because, when he joined the band, he brought with him the one and only Stevie Nicks. The face of rock and roll changed forever when the two of them joined Fleetwood Mac.

And yes, as today’s press release tells us, “for the first time ever, Grammy Award-winning Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Fleetwood Mac share their extraordinary story in their own words.” If they’ll share that story together in the same room at the same time, well, we’re not betting on it.

Amazons 2023 miniseries Daisy Jones & the Six transported viewers back to the 1970s with its incredibly authentic documentary style and catchy rock tunes - and the show was so believable that many viewers wondered if Daisy Jones & the Six were a real band. Based on the novel of the same name by Taylor Jenkins Reid, Daisy Jones & the Six focused on Riley Keoughs Daisy Jones and her bandmates as they came to dominate the music scene in LA, gained global stardom and, ultimately, fell apart due to personality clashes and creative differences during their national tour.
Everything about Daisy Jones & the Six felt real. Even though viewers knew the show was shot in the 2020s and starred contemporary actors like Keough and cast mates Suki Waterhouse, Camila Morrone, Timothy Olyphant, and others, the story and band felt incredibly realistic. While it seemed that Daisy Jones & the Six could have been...

Last year, the Prime Video streaming service released the ten episode series Daisy Jones & The Six (watch it Here), based on the best-selling novel by Taylor Jenkins Reid – a novel that was partially inspired by the complicated issues Fleetwood Mac band members Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Christine McVie, Lindsey Buckingham, and Stevie Nicks dealt with behind the scenes. It isn’t directly the Fleetwood Mac story, but comparisons are unavoidable… and Steve Nicks soon let it be known that she loved the show and had watched its full run multiple times. She said, “It brought back memories that made me feel like a ghost watching my own story. It was very emotional for me,” and she joined many fans in hoping that there would be a second season. Since Daisy Jones & The Six covered the full story of Reid’s novel and was categorized as a limited series,...

No, Stevie Nicks has not seen Stereophonic, David Adjmi’s hit Broadway play about a fictional (but very Mac-like) ’70s band recording what will become its (very Rumours-like) masterpiece album.
In fact, the singer who shared vocals (and decades of triumphs and tribulations) with her Fleetwood Mac bandmates Lindsey Buckingham and Christine McVie has never even heard of the Broadway smash.
In a new Rolling Stone interview promoting her latest song “The Lighthouse” (which she performed on Saturday Night Live earlier this month – just four blocks from the home of Stereophonic), Nicks was asked whether she had seen the play, which, among other storylines, chronicles the crumbling of a relationship between a Stevie-like singer and a Lindsey-like guitarist.
Here’s the exchange:
Rolling Stone: Have you seen the Stereophonic play?
Nicks: What is that?

Stevie Nicks has an idea for a second season of Daisy Jones & The Six.
In an in-depth interview with Rolling Stone published Thursday, the music icon reflected on the ending of the Prime series in which Sam Claflin’s Billy Dunne reunites with Riley Keough’s Daisy after encouragement from his wife to give his former bandmate a call after she passes away.
Though the series’ ending was left for the audience to debate on what truly happens and offered a feeling of possibility, Nicks ponders what could be if the show should ever have another season.
“I wish that it could go into what if … had Billy come back after Billy’s wife died and knocked on her door, and they decided to make that last record that I always hoped that Lindsey and I would make. That would make a fantastic second season,” Nicks said.

Stevie Nicks recently sat down with Rolling Stone for a nearly four-hour interview, discussing a wide range of topics that include the upcoming presidential election, her art and legacy, the perils of social media, and, of course, her most famous band, Fleetwood Mac.
She doubled down on her belief that the band can’t continue without Christine McVie — who died in Nov. 2022 — and that there won’t be a proper farewell tour. She also revealed that she spoke to her ex-bandmate and ex-boyfriend Lindsey Buckingham at McVie’s memorial.

Even Christine McVie’s death wasn’t enough for a reconciliation between Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Nicks shared that speaking to her former Fleetwood Mac bandmate and ex-boyfriend during McVie’s celebration of life for a few minutes was as much as she could stand.
Nicks revealed the event was held at Nobu, and added that it felt like McVie was there because there was a “crazy” hurricane that “tore down” the entire deck. “The only time I’ve spoken to Lindsey was there, for about three minutes,” she said.

“I dealt with Lindsey for as long as I could,” Nicks added. “You could not say that I did not give him more than 300 million chances.”
To make things crystal clear, Nicks confirmed a proper Fleetwood Mac farewell tour is out of the question with a simple “no.

Ken Caillat, the sound engineer and producer who worked on Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours, is suing the the hit Tony-winning play Stereophonic for allegedly ripping off his memoir, Making Rumours.
Published in 2012, Making Rumours found Caillat recounting, from his unique perspective in the control booth, the famously fraught creation of Rumours. Stereophonic, for its part, similarly tells the story of a band on the verge of pop stardom, making an album in 1976 amidst intra-band infighting and break-ups.

A former sound engineer who coauthored a 2012 memoir about his days working on the Fleetwood Mac album Rumours has filed a lawsuit, along with his coauthor of the book Making Rumours, against the makers of Broadway’s smash hit play Stereophonic, alleging that playwright David Adjmi relied on portions of Making Rumours in the creation of the similarly themed Broadway play.
Stereophonic, the suit states, “copies the heart and soul of Making Rumours, and is substantially similar.”
Stereophonic is perhaps best described as a roman a clef of Fleetwood Mac and the mid-’70s making of what would be their 1977 masterpiece Rumours. The play, which does not use the band members’ names or songs, fashions its characters and situations in ways that align closely to Mac’s classic line-up of Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Christine McVie, Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham. The troubled recording of their seminal album, which endured months of romantic break-ups,...

In the "Star Trek: The Next Generation" episode "Manhunt", Betazoid ambassador Lwaxana Troi (Majel Barrett) hitches a ride on the Enterprise-d, partly to visit her daughter Deanna (Marina Sirtis), but mostly to flirt with Captain Picard (Patrick Stewart). It seems that Lwaxana is going through the Betazoid equivalent of menopause, and her libido is skyrocketing. As such, she seems determined to arrive at her destination with a husband in tow, and she doesn't really care who it might be.
Lwaxana Troi is a fun character for "Star Trek," as she is outspoken, charismatic, and tends to flout the buttoned-up formality that Starfleet officers abide by. Barrett played the role on six episodes of "Next Generation," and returned for three episodes of "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine." Her flippant demeanor allowed her to solve mysteries without thinking about it, and her stories tended to be personally dramatic rather than highfalutin sci-fi.

Steve Nicks has confirmed that Fleetwood Mac are officially broken up for good, explaining that following the death of Christine McVie in 2022, “there’s no chance of putting Fleetwood Mac back together in any way. Without her, it just couldn’t work.”
Nicks and fellow Fleetwood Mac bandmate Mick Fleetwood have expressed similar sentiments since McVie’s tragic passing from a stroke on November 30th, 2022. However, in a new interview with Mojo, Nicks made her most explicit proclamation to date: “Without Christine [McVie], no can do.”

Nicks also noted that Lindsey Buckingham, who left the band in 2018 after the two had a falling out, has been dealing with his own health issues. Even if the two were to reconcile, she doubts he would be able to “do the kind of touring that Fleetwood Mac does, where you go out for a year and half. It’s so demanding.

Arguably the best new American drama since Annie Baker’s The Flick, David Adjmi’s Stereophonic shares both a hyper-naturalistic style and a sprawling three-hour running time with that 2013 masterwork. But the similarities end there. Chronicling a turbulent year in California recording studios during which a fictional 1970s rock band labors over the follow-up to their breakthrough album, this is an immersive plunge into the fraught process of artistic collaboration as pressures mount and interpersonal harmony dissolves into acrimony.
Funny, raw and poignant in equal measure, this expertly sculpted play has the feel of both a behind-the-music docudrama and a lost Robert Altman film, with its astute microcosmic focus, its frequent wash of overlapping dialogue and its sly nudges toward satire. In fact, while the music — fabulous original songs written by Will Butler, formerly of Arcade Fire — is pop-rock rather than country, Stereophonic could almost be an expanded vignette lifted right out of Nashville.

From the start of Cowboy Carter, Beyoncé makes it clear this ain’t your typical country album. Opening epic “Ameriican Requiem” is part gospel, part-Queen, part-Buffalo Springfield as the artist lays out both her intentions and lineage. “Used to say I spoke ‘Too country’/And the rejection came, said I wasn’t ‘country ‘nough’/Said I wouldn’t saddle up/But if that ain’t country, tell me what is?” she sings from the gut, after listing off her bona fide country credentials.
