Frank McRae(1944-2021)

African-American former NFL player, with plenty of height and built like an ox, Frank McRae scored over 40 film appearances predominantly as physically imposing men and authority figures, sometimes in quite comedic roles. McRae first came to attention playing a grinning jail inmate, "Reed Youngblood," helping Warren Oates escape in Dillinger (1973), and then quickly notched up minor tough guy parts in several films including Le Bagarreur (1975), F.I.S.T (1978) and Graffiti Party (1978). However, not to be typecast, McRae played some light-hearted & comedic performances in Bonjour les vacances (1983), Miracle sur la 8ème rue (1987) and as a foul-mouthed mechanic in the hilarious La Grosse Magouille (1980). He also turned in a quite funny role in Alarme fatale (1993), and as Arnold Schwarzenegger's long-suffering police captain in Last Action Hero (1993).
