Batman: Caped Crusader Poster Reveals New HBO Max Animated Series
Image
A new Batman animated series is in the works from HBO Max and Cartoon Network. Called Batman: Caped Crusader, the new series is executive produced by J.J. Abrams, The Batman director Matt Reeves, and Batman: The Animated Series developer Bruce Timm. A first look image of the series, which has already been given a series order, has also been revealed. It gives us a glimpse at the show's Batman along with a backdrop of Gotham City, which is reminiscent of the 90s animated series.

"Batman: The Animated Series was a masterpiece that shaped the perception of the character for an entire generation of fans," Warner Bros. Animation president Sam Register said in a statement. "It is in that spirit that we are bringing together three master storytellers in J.J., Matt and Bruce - each with their own intuitive understanding and affection for the character - to create a new...

Former Teen Wolf Actor Says He’d Love To Star In Batman Beyond
Fans have always wanted to see Batman Beyond adapted for live-action, but after an initial attempt to get the project off the ground 20 years ago, it seems to have fallen way down Warner Bros.’ list of priorities. Every now and again, there are rumors of the futuristic spin on the Dark Knight being back in development, but so far, there’s been nothing concrete.

However, the recent announcement that Michael Keaton would be returning to play Bruce Wayne in The Flash and continue on as a recurring part of the Dceu instantly made Batman Beyond a more realistic proposition than ever before. After all, the multiverse has blown the door for what can happen in the franchise wide open, and the 69 year-old Keaton is the perfect age to play a retired vigilante who takes young Terry McGinnis under his wing.

The rumor mill has been churning ever since the star...

WB Wants To Do Live-Action Batman Beyond Movie With Michael Keaton
As Warner Bros. continues to work out how best to relaunch the Batman movie franchise in an exciting new way, DC fans have already had the perfect idea for years now: just produce a live-action adaptation of everyone’s favorite animated series Batman Beyond. And better yet, get Michael Keaton back as the older Bruce, as it could tie into the fondly-remembered Tim Burton Batman movies. Surely that’d be a license to print money, right?

Well, we’ve got some good news, as sources close to We Got This Covered – the same ones who told us The CW was developing an Arrow spinoff for Katherine McNamara back in March, Viola Davis was returning for The Suicide Squad and that Tom Welling was going to show up in “Crisis on Infinite Earths,” all of which were eventually confirmed – have informed us that inspired by the success of Joker, WB is...

Epic Fan Art Of Michael Keaton As Batman Beyond’s Bruce Wayne Will Make Your Day
Batman Beyond was a genius idea. It basically asks, what if Batman was Spider-Man, but in the future?

If you’re not familiar with the concept, here it is in a nutshell. Age has finally gotten the better of Batman and he’s hung up the cape and resorted to a lonely existence in his mansion. One day, high-schooler Terry McGinnis stumbles into the Batcave and steals a prototype Batsuit, quickly becoming the Batman of the future with an elderly Bruce Wayne as his mentor.

Somehow, Bruce only manages to become cooler as an old guy with a cane (and he can still kick ass when he needs to). That’s why, when fans get together and discuss their fantasy casting for a live-action Batman Beyond, there’s one name that always comes up: Michael Keaton. Obviously, he has the Batman pedigree and, much like old Bruce Wayne, seems to...

Badass Fan Art Imagines Michael Keaton As Batman Beyond’s Bruce Wayne
At some point in my lifetime, I’d really like to see a Batman Beyond movie come to fruition. Originally having aired as an animated series from 1999-2001, it focused on a young man named Terry McGinnis who took up the mantle of the Dark Knight fifty years into the future, as he was mentored by none other than Bruce Wayne. Actually, the concept almost materialized as a live action flick in the time separating Batman & Robin from Batman Begins, but the project ultimately fell through.

Fortunately, the show’s legacy has lived on well past its finale, for it’s continued in a number of comic book series, among other things. All we can do is hope that a still rabid fanbase one day gives cause for Warner Bros. to green light a major motion picture, though it’s advised that you not hold your breath.

Speaking of which,...
