One of the most controversial comedies of modern times is getting a long-awaited sequel. Released more than two decades ago, White Chicks stars Shawn Wayans and Marlon Wayans as two FBI agents who must go undercover as two white, female socialites...using “whiteface.” Now, finally, the cinematic gods have heard our endless cries as Marlon Wayans confirms that there are plans in place to bring back Brittany and Tiffany Wilson for White Chicks 2.
Speaking with Good Morning America, Wayans revealed that, following the release of another of the Wayans’ highly anticipated comedy sequels, Scary Movie 6, they will start work on White Chicks 2, with the actor, comedian, writer, and producer saying, “it’s time.”
"[Fans always ask] 'When are you doing the sequel?' They love that movie," he said. "Hey, you know, I think it's time. Let's get Scary Movie 6 done, and then we'll go and bring out White Chicks 2."

Released in 2004, White Chicks may be the most controversial of any movie made by the Wayans family. There has been some debate over whether a film with its concept could be made today, but Marlon Wayans is hinting that a sequel will soon be made.
In previous years, Wayans has expressed his desire to see White Chicks 2 happen, but the potential sequel has never managed to get off the ground. Now, the odds of the sequel happening may increase exponentially if the upcoming Scary Movie sequel turns out to be a hit with filmgoers. The Wayans Brothers are reuniting to develop Scary Movie 6, and Marlon shared with Good Morning America that he's looking to finally get work on White Chicks 2 started as their next potential project.

Two years have passed since Kevin Smith‘s horror anthology KillRoy Was Here made its way out into the world as an Nft – and to this day, the only people who have seen the movie are those who have either bought the Nft, been given access to one of the NFTs, or attended a special screening. Which means so few people have seen KillRoy Was Here, it could almost be described as Smith’s “lost movie.” Now, while speaking to Entertainment Weekly and promoting his new film The 4:30 Movie, Smith has revealed exactly how and why the movie became an Nft release.
Directed by Smith from a script he wrote with Andy McElfresh, KillRoy Was Here was made on a minuscule budget as a project with film students at the Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida. The movie is a throwback anthology horror film featuring a...

The 4:30 Movie, the sixteenth feature film from director Kevin Smith, is now in theatres (you can read a review by JoBlo’s own Alex Maidy at This Link), and to mark the occasion we have decided to look back over Smith’s entire directing career and assemble a list of Kevin Smith Movies Ranked, from #16 to #1. This list doesn’t represent everything Smith has done; you won’t find movies he did uncredited rewrites on (like Overnight Delivery) or wrote for someone else to direct (Jay & Silent Bob’s Super Groovy Cartoon Movie), or even the segment he contributed to the anthology horror film Holidays. For this list, we’re only covering the features that had him at the helm. And here we go…

Two decades after the release of White Chicks in theaters, the film is now streaming on Netflix. The film was not greeted with a warm reception and even generated controversy for its premise, but it has become a cult classic over the past 20 years.
The movie was directed by Keenen Ivory Wayans, who co-wrote the script with Shawn Wayans, Marlon Wayans, Andy McElfresh, Michael Anthony Snowden, and Xavier Cook. Shawn and Marlon also lead the cast, portraying two brothers in the FBI who go undercover as young white women by using "whiteface" in order to keep them protected from a kidnapping plot. The plot has had some people referring to White Chicks as a "racist" film, a claim that persists two decades later, resulting in a recent response from Marlon Wayans.

White Chicks is a movie that has developed a large cult following over the years, even if the film itself has fallen into the category of wouldnt be made today. It seems, though, that not everyone who was part of the film was that impressed with it even when it came out 20 years ago. In a recent interview with NPR, Busy Philipps shared her candid thoughts on how she was embarrassed by the way people reacted to White Chicks on its release especially when it stopped her being part of a much more successful movie.

The concept of the Kevin Smith horror movie Tusk came out of an episode of Smith’s SModcast podcast in which he and his co-host Scott Mosier started out joking about the idea of a walrus-themed body horror movie and then, in the midst of the banter, Smith was inspired to actually make the movie. (And I’m very thankful that he did.) Smith’s horror anthology KillRoy Was Here started out in a similar way. It has its roots in an episode of the Edumacation podcast, where Smith and co-host Andy McElfresh “accidentally brainstormed a Christmas horror anthology” that would revolve around the child-eating creature known as Krampus. Smith and McElfresh wrote a script and were moving ahead with the film, which was first called Comes the Krampus! and then re-titled Anti-Claus, but then it got abandoned when Michael Dougherty’s Krampus movie was released. It only sat dormant...

Years in the making, Kevin Smith’s next film is finally getting released, but only a select few will get a chance to see it. The comedy-horror anthology “KillRoy Was Here” will be available exclusively via 5,555 NFTs.

At this time, this is the only planned distribution method for the film — Smith fans shouldn’t count on being able to catch it in a theater or on streaming.

For anyone who loves Kevin Smith (and it’s no secret that I’m chief among them), it’s been a bit of a wait for news on Killroy Was Here. Shot a few years ago, the horror anthology took a backseat to Jay and Silent Bob Reboot in the wake of Smith’s heart attack, but now, while doing a virtual version of his annual Comic-Con panel, it has revealed itself. Yes, Smith debuted a Trailer for the film, with hopes that it might be out either later on this year, or early next year. You can see the Trailer below, but first, a bit about what the flick is about! The movie is a horror anthology, loosely based on the Kilroy Was Here graffiti symbol from World War II. Though this year’s Comic-Con didn’t happen in person, Kevin Smith still delivered his usual wide-ranging presentation — only this time it was him offering a pre-recorded rundown of his current and future projects to an at-home audience. Among the meatiest developments he shared was releasing the first trailer for his upcoming comedy-horror anthology “Killrory Was Here.”
Smith likened the film to the 1982 George A. Romero anthology “Creepshow” or Brad Miska’s 2012 “V/H/S.”
“It’s got a theme that runs through it, in as much as our monster Killroy, and all these little stories that happen around him. He’s kind of like a kid-avenger — if you fuck with kids, Killroy will show up,” he said.

Once upon a time Kevin Smith had a dream to make a Krampus movie—a horror anthology film based around the anti-Santa Claus monster of Germanic folklore. But then Michael Dougherty went and made Krampus in 2015, so Smith had to improvise. Luckily this is the guy who made Clerks for $28,000—being creative with resources is kind of in his wheelhouse. Thus began the genesis of Killroy Was Here, an all-original horror movie that looks to be very much in the vein of one of Smith’s previous cult chillers, Tusk.
A film that Smith made in tandem with students at the Ringling College of Art and Design, Killroy Was Here has been a bit of an enigma for Smith fans over the years. Working from a screenplay by Smith and Andrew McElfresh, Smith and his crew of budding filmmakers began shooting in Sarasota, Florida in 2017. Iconic wrestler Chris Jericho and director Kevin Smith have appeared on each other's podcasts over the years, but now they're finally working together. Smith posted a picture of himself and Jericho announcing that the wrestler is playing a part in the director's upcoming horror anthology Killroy Was Here. In addition, Smith reveals that Jericho stepped up to help operate the camera as well, truly earning his keep on the indie film. The duo are clearly excited to be working with each other in the picture that Smith posted.

Kevin Smith has been hard at work on the project for over a year, traveling out to Sarasota, Florida a few times a year to shoot with film students. Director Kevin Smith has revealed the first photo from the set of his horror anthology Killroy Was Here. The director started shooting the first installment back in June, working from a script he co-wrote with Andrew McElfresh (White Chicks), who also served as visual effects supervisor on Kevin Smith's Yoga Hosers. While the filmmaker wouldn't offer any details about what scene is being shot in the photo, the filmmaker did comment on this story when the project was first announced in June. Here's what the director had to say below.
"This is a monster movie in the sense of a classic morality tale. No one wants to see you spill the blood of innocents, but when someone crosses the line and goes bad, you get to make them pay in horrible ways, and the audience cheers. We wanted to make an anthology film in the vein of Creepshow. Killroy is like the Golem,...

Ringling College of Art and Design just announced a partnership between the school and filmmaker extraordinaire Kevin Smith (Clerks, Red State, Tusk) for Kevin's latest project called Killroy Was Here. And according to Smith, the anthology will be a monster movie with grisly moments.

Kevin Smith has embarked on a new film project. He's just started shooting a horror anthology film called Killroy Was Here. I wasn't aware that Smith was working on this project, but apparently, he ended up ditching his Krampus movie project after Michael Dougherty released his Krampus movie. This new film took the place of that and the script for it was reworked to fit Killroy. As far as the main monster in the film, its name is Killroy and Smith describes him as ”Golem, the Boogeyman and the Grim Reaper combined.”
Smith wrote the film with executive producer Andrew McElfresh, and it's the first time Smith has shared a writing credit with anyone on his movies. The phrase “Kilroy Was Here” originated in American culture as graffiti during World War II. It featured a bald-headed man with a big nose peeking over a wall with his hands grabbing onto the wall.

Superman Lives, The Green Hornet and sadly now Clerks III: here’s a rundown of the Kevin Smith films we’ll probably never see...
Kevin Smith has always had to fight to get his films off the ground: he started his filmmaking career by maxing out multiple credit cards to self-finance Clerks, and more recently, legend has it, it was only Johnny Depp’s decision to come on board as a wacky supporting character that allowed Smith to secure financing for his walrus-centric horror flick Tusk.
Smith has, across his career, been offered several barmy jobs (he rejected a chance to pen Beetlejuice Goes Hawaiian back in the 90s) and he’s also signed up for a lot of projects that never got past the script phase.

Despite the whitewashing controversy that surrounded Paramount Pictures’ “Ghost in the Shell,” the first trailer, released in November, received a generally positive response. Now, a new teaser of the Scarlett Johansson-starring action film has been unveiled days before Super Bowl Li, and it’s just as badass as the previous offering. The 30-second spot tells less about the story than the trailer did, but employs plenty of action and stunning visuals to pique audience interest.
Directed by Rupert Sanders, the movie is an adaptation the classic Japanese manga series and follows Johansson as Major, a special ops human-cyborg who leads an elite task force known as Section 9. When the counter-terrorist organization is faced with an enemy whose mission is to wipe out Hanka Robotic’s advancements in cyber technology, Major is devoted to ending all dangerous criminals and extremists.

What is this? It's a column where a guy who spells his first name weird speculates and spoils superhero movies by discussing news and rumors. It includes spoilers, maybe. Be wary if you don't like spoilers.
This Week! The Calm Before The Con. Guardians of the Galaxy lets tons of material out, Playstations' Powers is still alive! Batman V. Superman fan scripts become an issue.
Did everyone have a good Fourth of July holiday? I mostly sat in my room and watched The X-Files on Netflix in between seeing people and fireworks while eating barbecue. And I read a bunch of Daredevil comics, because they are fantastic and Marvel Unlimited is a great program and app that gives me access to hundreds of comics on demand from all eras.
That sounded like a plug, and I wish. Marvel - buddy - pay me to plug your comics stuff. Or pay me in comics.

Last week, rumors started swirling that a fake script (which provided the source of many rumors) for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice had been purposefully leaked by Warner Bros. in order to keep the plot of the film a secret. The report claims that none other than Kevin Smith had been hired to write the phony script, but now the man himself has finally spoken out against the rumor and even revealed a poster for his new film, Tusk.
First, let's talk about this ridiculous rumor that started going around. Honestly, I can't believe it gained as much traction as it did, but such is the wonderful (and horrible) thing about the internet: things spread quickly. The rumor was that Warner Bros. hired Kevin Smith to produce a fake script for Batman v. Superman in order to keep others from knowing the facts behind Zack Snyder's film. As such,...

Last week, we reported that director Kevin Smith was responsible for floating a fake Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice script, which he wrote himself, to various movie news outlets and bloggers. This had supposidley created a storm of fake rumors circulating on the Internet, heavily reported on by Latino Review and Badass Digest. While Kevin Smith stayed quiet about the rumor throughout the weekend, he has now come forward to finally answer the question.
No. He didn't write a fake Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice screenplay.

Earlier this year, director Kevin Smith revealed that another feature film project had surfaced following an idea that came about during an episode of Smodcast's Edumacation podcast with Andy McElfresh. The Clerks and Dogma director intended to co-write the script for a film called Comes the Krampus, which was proposed as a holiday horror anthology that would have Smith directing a segment. Now the film is making moves towards a reality as THR reports Xyz Films will be selling the project to foreign buyers at Cannes, and Justin Long, Haley Joel Osment, Genesis Rodriguez and Michael Parks are on board. For those who don't know, the film will tell the tale of the centuries-old, devil-like creature known the world-over as the Krampus – the “Anti-Claus” of Alpine country folklore, infamous for eating naughty children during the season of giving. And that's why the film has been given the new title of Anti-Claus.

Those looking forward to the return of Jay and Silent Bob in Kevin Smith’s anticipated Clerks III will have to wait a little while longer, because Smith has announced that, come April, he’ll be starting production on his second horror film, Comes the Krampus.
Taking to Reddit, the filmmaker revealed that, with Tusk nearing completion, the original plan was for him to gear up to shoot Clerks III. But now he’s had a change of heart. Clerks III will still happen, but it’s Comes the Krampus that has him hooked right now, so much so that he has to make it next. And fortunately for us, he’s making it very soon.
Smith co-wrote the holiday horror anthology with Andy McElfresh. McElfresh will direct the episode, The Krampus vs. The 3rd Grade; long-time collaborator Jason Mewes will helm period episode, Hitler’s Krampus; Smith will direct the Gothic horror piece,...

If you’ve kept up with Kevin Smith recently, you’ve probably noticed that he was never really clued in on the news of his retirement that he announced. While it was once reported that Clerks III would be the writer and director’s final film, he’s since started crafting a whole new slate of films With Tusk, the story of a podcaster who goes missing and winds up in the clutches of a lonely seafarer just looking for someone to fill his human-sized walrus suit for awhile (bummer), Smith has his thriller quota almost completed. After production wraps, he’ll be moving on to the long-awaited Clerks III on April 7. And eventually, we’ll also be getting the apocalypse flick Helena Handbag — that one where mankind and Hell team up to defeat a vengeful, murderous Jesus. It might be awhile before we see that one. Just in case you thought he might be slacking on...

Kevin Smith has announced a new Christmas-themed horror film.
The filmmaker is working on the anthology Comes the Krampus.
"I was goofing around with [Smodcast collaborator] Andy McElfresh, when we accidentally brainstormed a Christmas horror anthology that would eschew the gruesome spin on Santa Claus, and instead embrace the Scandinavian/German Kid-Eating Christmas creature known as the Krampus," he wrote on his blog.
"It took us less than a month, but Andy and I have finished the screenplay for a flick we're calling Comes the Krampus. It's 99 pulse-pounding pages of what's essentially SModCo's Creepshow, with four terrifying tales stitched together by a freaky framing device.
"It was a blast to write and totally new to me, as I never actually wrote a screenplay with someone else before."
Smith had previously announced his retirement before backtracking with a series of new projects including Clerks 3, Tusk and Helena Handbag.

Kevin Smith better have something to show us soon, the guy keeps on piling up projects, I really don’t know where he finds the time to talk so much. On the burner he has Tusk, Clerks III, his apocalyptic “Christzilla” flick, Helena Handbag, and now it’s a horror anthology centering around Santa Clause’s European foil, the Krampus. Krampus for those who don’t know is a demonic creature who punishes bad children on Christmas while Santa rewards the good. It’s getting pretty popular in North America, last year even Chicago hosted “Krampusfests”, which included the European tradition of adults dressed as the “Christmas Devil” roaming the streets while rattling chains to frighten naughty children. Well that sounds absolutely scary for a child to see and hear.

I'm a huge fan of horror anthologies, especially when they are good, but even when they are so bad they're good. Kevin Smith has revealed on his blog that he's created a holiday horror anthology film project called Comes the Krampus. He co-wrote the script with Andy McElfresh, and Smith will direct a segment, as will Jason Mewes, Jennifer Schwalbach, and others. The film will shoot over the summer, after Smith finishes Clerks 3. Here's the full announcement from Smith, with all of the details he was willing to reveal,

Hey everyone – remember that time Kevin Smith said he was retiring after Clerks III? Yeah, looks like that plan is falling apart rather quickly for our passionate filmmaker. First, he announced his pseudo horror thriller Tusk, a film that shows Michael Parks turning Justin Long into a walrus, then came news of Helena Handbasket, another genre piece that might turn into a musical. Now, Smith has surprised fans with another outrageous surprise – he’ll be co-directing Comes The Krampus!, a Christmas themed horror anthology birthed from yet another podcast conversation.
Inspired by one of the more notable classic horror anthologies, Creepshow, Comes The Krampus! will follow a few tales of terror that ignore Santa’s usual Christmas spirit in favor of The Krampus’ kid devouring ways. This is a team SModcast production through and through, with getting everyone involved – wait, why am I telling you this? Let’s take a...

Although Kris Kringle gets all the love, here at Dread Central we're big fans of the Krampus. The character just doesn't get enough love, I tell ya! In any event, Kevin Smith thinks so, too, and he's gearing up to tell the mythical beast's tale like never before.

The farther he gets from his indie roots, the closer Kevin Smith seems to be inching back towards that filmmaking methodology, only without the worry of having to max out credit cards to bring the projects to light. Since announcing at the end of 2012 that Clerks III was going to be his last film, Smith has almost completed a feature that wasn.t even fully conceived of at the time, with another more bizarre project lined up after that. Add another off-center concept to that pile, as Smith announced he recently finished teaming up with comedy writer and podcaster Andy McElfresh in co-writing a Christmas horror anthology called Comes the Krampus! which will be directed by several members of the SModCo crew. Instead of using Santa Claus as their jumping off point, they decided to use the "Scandinavian/German Kid-Eating Christmas creature known as The Krampus," which Smith himself announced...

It's becoming pretty clear that Kevin Smith isn't retiring anytime soon. Aside from the forthcoming Clerks III and Tusk (which just got picked up for distribution, even though it didn't have a presence at Sundance), Smith also revealed another project called Helena Handbag recently. Now there's one more that's been tossed on the burner as the filmmaker announced on his own blog (via SlashFilm) that he's co-written and will co-direct a holiday horror anthology in the vein of Creepshow called Comes the Krampus, based on the idea of the Scandinavian/German creature who eats kids at Christmas. Okay, that sounds pretty cool. Smith co-write the script with Andy McElfresh from Smodcasts Edumacation podcaast after they two stumbled upon the idea during an episode recording where they brainstormed a Christmas horror anthology. That was just at the end of last year. Now Smith says: "It took us less than a month,...
