Season 16 of “The Voice” recently concluded with Maelyn Jarmon from Team John Legend winning the latest title in the long-running NBC competition series. (Watch our video interview with Maelyn.) Although the songbird from Team John was Gold Derby’s odds-on favorite to win, it was Blake Shelton who coached three of the four finalists including country singers Gyth Rigdon, Dexter Roberts and Andrew Sevener. That brings us to an impressive statistic for Shelton. Not only has he won more titles than any other coach, with six total, but he’s also had more runners-up and finalists as well.

In the past 16 seasons, Shelton has coached nine artists to second place and a staggering 24 to the finale. Season 5 was the only one that Team Blake failed to reach the finale altogether.

Brynn Cartelli won season 14 of “The Voice” on Tuesday by edging out Britton Buchanan in one of the closest votes in the history of the reality competition series. Buchanan, who was coached by one-time winning coach Alicia Keys, had been strongly positioned heading into Tuesday’s finale based on his performances on Monday’s final.

Two of the three songs that Buchanan performed on May 21 made the iTunes top 10, thus qualifying for the vote multiplier. He grabbed the top spot with his original single “Where You Come From.” And his cover of the Young Rascals classic “Good Lovin” took the 10th and final slot. (His duet with Keys on “Wake Me Up” by Avicii ranked 19th).

Cartelli, who was mentored by rookie coach Kelly Clarkson, also landed two of her three songs in the top 10 on iTunes. She was in third place on the sales chart with the original tune...

Well, "Voice" fans -- we're near the end. The live Season 4 semi-finals have come to an end, taking two artists from the Top 5 with them. With the Top 3 revealed, the stage has been set for an intense final next week.

The first finalist saved, earning a spot in the finale, is Michelle Chamuel, while the second saved is Danielle Bradbery. The last person saved, entering the Top 3, is The Swon Brothers, meaning both Sasha Allen and Amber Carrington are heading home.

With that, both Adam Levine and Shakira are out of the competition, with no artists left to spur on. So, Season 4 comes down to defending champion coach Blake Shelton and newbie Usher. Do Usher and Michelle stand a chance against Blake and his country brigade? Next week will be a nail-biter.

Few were surprised on Tuesday night when Cassadee Pope, Blake Shelton's contestant, won Season 3 of "The Voice." A frontrunner from the beginning, Pope had the experience and cross-genre appeal to charm not only the other coaches, but the viewing public -- and, perhaps most importantly, the iTunes buyers.

In the last performance competition round, Pope sang "Over You," by Miranda Lambert, again. She and Shelton chose Sheryl Crow's "Steve McQueen" for their duet. For her final performance -- and the final performance of the night -- Pope sang "Cry" by Faith Hill, once again leaning into the country genre that helped her connect with her audience.

After Monday night's showing on The Voice it was hard to predict who might be cut during last night's elimination. It seemed impossible that America would send Amanda Brown packing, but that's just what happened, along with teen teammate Melanie Martinez. Adam Levine's lost two contestants on Tuesday -- Amanda Brown and Melanie Martinez -- when they were eliminated.

Christina has no singer left competing for this season's top prize.

"The Voice" Top 4 were revealed on Tuesday night after two more contestants were eliminated: Melanie Martinez and Amanda Brown.

"I never expected to get this far and this is beyond what I've ever dreamed of," a brave-faced Melanie said after being eliminated. "I'm just so glad I got to express who I am as an artist and really touch people's hearts because that was the ultimate goal."

Terry McDermott and Cassadee Pope of Team Blake are moving on, along with Team Cee Lo's Trevin Hunte and Nicholas David, who round out the Top 4. Tuesday's results eliminated coach Adam Levine's team from the competition.

Before the results were announced, Nicholas broke some of the awkward tension by reminiscing about "The Voice" cast's good times.

"The Voice" eliminated two contestants on Tuesday night. Melanie Martinez and Amanda Brown went home, leaving Terry McDermott, Trevin Hunt, Nicholas David, and Cassadee Pope as your Top 4 contestants for Season 3. Yes -- this means that like Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine no longer has a horse in the race.

Before getting sent home, Amanda and Cassadee sang Kelly Clarkson's "Breakaway" as a duet. Melanie took Christina Aguilera's advice and sang Fiona Apple's "Criminal" with Nicholas -- and it was a truly excellent song choice for her particular vocal chops.

Adam seemed relatively zen about losing his final two contestants. As several of the coaches have pointed out, winning isn't necessarily everything -- several non-winner contestants have gone on to moderate success following "The Voice" runs.

After Monday night's Top 6 performed for America's vote, eliminations were in store for The Voice contestants once again on Tuesday.  With only the best of the best still around, two more competitors were told to hit the bricks.

Filled with five performances from the contestants, as well as special guests Ne-Yo and Matchbox 20, there wasn't That much time to get opinions from the coaches on how everything shaped up.

Carson did, however, find a moment to commend Cee Lo on having pushed his button back in the Blind Auditions for every single member of the Top 10.  Hold on a second.  Is that really the story?  Yes, he has finally put together a quality team this season, but let us not forget that he pushed his button for what seemed like everyone who came on stage back in September.

Cee Lo Green declared that he doesn’t view The Voice as a competition, but rather “a coexistence.” Blake Shelton, on the other hand, said he’d do anything to ensure he’d have the last two contestants standing in Season 3. It’s only one part of the overall voting process, but if iTunes results are any indication of larger trends, then the results tonight will be perfunctory rather than truly surprising. Last night I predicted that the audience watching “The Voice” wouldn’t vote for a classic rock singer into the Final Four. But there sits Terry McDermott at Number Two on the charts, so I vastly underestimated American’s hunger for Foreigner. The Team Adam singer attracted 28.59% of the vote for her performances of 'Here I Go Again' and 'Natural Woman' on last night's (December 3) show. The final six performers did not hold back on last night’s The Voice. It seems like an impossible task to eliminate any of the remaining contestants. Each performer is top notch in his or her respective genre. At this point, it is like comparing donuts to cookies, both are good and it just depends what you are in the mood for.

The performances were all amazing. Trevin Hunte’s rendition of “And I Am Telling You I Am Not Going” was over the top powerful and had the coaches gushing, including the typically reticent to compliment Christina Aguilera who even offered to take Trevin on the road with her. Nicholas David also shined by interpreting “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” in a way that reinvigorated a song that can other times feel stale. Even though Cassadee Pope charting on the Billboard Hot 100 seems like a dream-crusher for the other contestants hoping to win Season Three of The Voice, last night's live show proved the other remaining five ain't going out easy. Most notably, Trevin Hunte pulled himself up from the bottom of the pile with a song that, inexplicably, he labeled "a risk": "And I Am Telling You I Am Not Going." If there is any song that is showboat-ier, full of big notes and soulful bluster, who knows what it is.

I agree with Pat's advice to go all out at this point in the competition, especially if you think you're in the bottom half of the Top 6. The issue here was that this Earth, Wind, and Fire joint was one of the worst possible choices to do something like that.  Like Cee Lo has done for most of the season, he chose another played out song that was very difficult to make current.  It is possible though, because we saw Colton Dixon knock it out of the park and make it relevant on American Idol.

On the heels of another entertaining performance show Monday night, The Voice pared its field down by two aspiring stars once more. Eight came into the night with a dream of being crowned Season 3 champion.

Only six remain right now.

Unlike the previous two weeks, where certain members of the top 12 and 10 felt somewhat over-matched by the stronger singers on the show, there were very few weak links left tonight; still, two had to go.

So who did?

With only eight contestants performing this week, "The Voice" is growing more competitive -- and tonight, two singers were sent home. Cody Belew and Dez Duran were voted out of the competition. Since Dez was Christina Aguilera's last remaining contestant, she's officially the first coach knocked out of the running. Belew was on Team Cee-Lo Green, but with Nicholas David and Trevin Hunte still in the competition, Cee-Lo still has a shot at the prize.

Along with Dez and Cody, Trevin and Terry McDermott (from Blake Shelton's team) were in the bottom four.

As his final performance on the show, Dez teamed up with Cassadee Pope to sing "I Hate That I Love You" by Rihanna and Ne-Yo. On Monday, he sang "U Smile" by Justin Bieber, but unfortunately, the legions of Beliebers didn't show up to buy his song on iTunes.

The Golden Girls.” Leave it to Blake Shelton (discussing his pre-performance rituals) to score the funniest zinger of The Voice‘s Season 3 Top 8 results show — no small accomplishment, considering select members of The Muppets gang dropped by to hang out with Cee Lo Green. (Let’s just be thankful Blake didn’t specifically mention pork rinds, or else the most charming member of the show’s panel might’ve been dispatched by a Miss Piggy karate chop!)

Alas, though, not even...

The results are in! "The Voice" eliminated two more contestants: Dez Duron of Team Christina and Cody Belew of Team Cee Lo.

The Top 6 are: Cassadee Pope and Terry McDermott (Team Blake); Melanie Martinez and Amanda Brown (Team Adam); and Nicholas David (and his bun) and Trevin Hunte (Team Cee Lo).

With Dez's elimination, Christina Aguilera no longer has any contestants in the running to win Season 3 of "The Voice."

The real treat of the night was Cee Lo Green bringing together his teams from three seasons to perform his song "All I Need Is Love" with the Muppets. Vicci Martinez, Tony Vincent, Nakia, Jamar Rogers, MacKenzie Bourg, and more sang with Cee Lo in Las Vegas and then Kermit and Cee Lo -- clad in a mirrored green ensemble (hat included) -- sang "It's Not Easy Being Green." It brought Fozzie to tears.

The top eight singers took the stage on last night’s The Voice in an attempt to convince viewers they should be voted through to the top six. After the show, the competitors talked with theTVaddict.com about their performances, how they spent the holidays, and what it feels like after losing Sylvia Yacoub and Bryan Keith last week. Amanda performed Adele’s “Someone Like You,” which was an interesting choice as Amanda was previously Adele’s backup singer. The song is typically understated and focuses more on the intensity of Adele’s voice and the emotion it conveys. Amanda put her own touches and transformed it into a rock song. Amanda’s voice was flawless, but the rock element stripped away a lot of the emotion of the original version.

Last night's showdown round between the final eight contestants of Season Three of The Voice was intense. With so much in the balance and still some truly middle-of-the-road performances, it seems to be anyone's guess whom America will keep and who will be sent packing tonight. During rehearsals, Amanda Brown informs us that until recently, she has always lived with her parents or significant others.  She has moved into an apartment by herself and is finally supporting herself financially all by herself for the first time in her life.

Everyone and their brother, including yours truly, was touting last week's The Voice as its best episode ever. But this installment may have featured even better performances.

Sure, there was way too much filler, as the show managed to spread eight solo performances out over two hours, but not a single contestant made me want to throw something at my TV. That's not something that could have been said last Monday.

If you don't come for the singing, you could always come for Carson Daly's quips, like "I was watching Terry and his wife make out. That's good TV." It's hard to imagine that I thought he was a terrible host in season one. Carson is a joy to watch.

Now for the actual reason that we all tune in every week: The Voice's Top 8 were on display Monday night, and a large number of them performed extremely well.
