"We'd Freakin' Knock It Out Of The Park": Speed 3 Gets Hopeful Update From Keanu Reeves & Sandra Bullock
Image
Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock express interest in returning for Speed 3. The success of the original Speed has sparked discussions about a possible sequel that is closer to happening. While the script remains a key factor, both Reeves and Bullock seem on board for Speed 3, leaving fans hopeful.

Speed 3 receives a hopeful update from stars Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock. The 1994 action thriller stars Reeves and Bullock as an LAPD officer and passenger who must prevent an explosive-rigged bus from detonating by keeping its speed above 50 miles per hour. Reeves opted not to return alongside Bullock for 1997's Speed 2: Cruise Control, though in recent years, there has been a lot of discussion from Reeves, Bullock, and director Jan de Bont about a possible third film.

During a joint appearance on the 50 Mph podcast, which recounts the making of the original movie, Reeves and Bullock shared a hopeful update on...

Keanu Reeves Would Return For Speed 3 On One Condition
Image
Keanu Reeves reveals he would return for Speed 3 on one condition. As one of the first leading roles that established himself as an action hero, Reeves starred in the 1994 film as the LAPD Swat officer Jack Traven who must stop an explosive-rigged bus from detonating if its speed drops below 50 miles per hour. After Speed was a success, Reeves did not return alongside Sandra Bullock for 1997's Speed 2: Cruise Control, which is widely considered one of the worst sequels of all time.

During a recent interview with Access Hollywood at the John Wick: Chapter 4 premiere, Reeves was asked if he would willingly return for the long-discussed Speed 3 alongside Bullock. Reeves answered, "of course," with no hesitation, although there is one condition required for him to return – "a great story, a great script." Watch the relevant portion of the interview below, starting at 2:41.

For Speed 2, director Jan De Bont spent millions building a town and crashing a luxury liner into it - and all because of a dream...

In 1994, Jan De Bont found himself in something of a quandary. The former Die Hard and Hunt For Red October cinematographer had just scored a major hit with Speed, an action disaster flick in which a bulked-up Keanu Reeves hopped aboard a bus with a bomb wired up to its speedometer. If the bus’s speed dropped below 50 miles per hour, the bomb would go off, killing all the passengers - including the likeably hapless Sandra Bullock.

It was Die Hard on a bus. It starred Dennis Hopper as its crazed villain. Speed was just the kind of high-concept fare audiences wanted to see in the summer of 1994, and they duly lined up to buy a ticket.

Jan De Bont was no...

DVD Review: The Scorpion King 2: Rise of the Warrior
I was not a fan of the first Scorpion King flick. Quite frankly I thought it was awful despite finding undeniable enjoyment in the stupidity that are the first two Mummy films. Even still, I have a soft spot in me for direct-to-dvd features. It's not as if I always find them enjoyable, but I always watch them with my expectations so low it is typically hard for them to entirely disappoint. Direct-to-video releases aren't made on big budgets and they don't typically gain the greatest actors. The Scorpion King 2 is no different as they recruited Ufc champion Randy Couture as the "big name" in the cast. This is a sad statement in and of itself, especially considering he is in the film for about 15 or the 109 minutes. Not exactly worthy of top billing. The story is a prequel story to the one told in 2002 Scorpion King starring The Rock as Mathayus the Scorpion King.
