Tom McBeath's 5 minutes of fame is probably Col. Maybourne in Stargate SG-1 (1997). He trained as a stage actor and, in his 49 year career, has over 135 professional stage credits across much of Canada. As the film & TV business embraced Vancouver as a location he worked in many of the series produced here including L'as de la crime (1991), 21 Jump Street (1987), X-Files : Aux frontières du réel (1993), and a BC favourite The Beachcombers (1972). Some of the feature films he was involved with, albeit in a small way, include Le cauchemar hollywoodien (1984) with James Garner and John Lithgow, Les Accusés (1988) with Jodie Foster, Le seul témoin (1990) with Gene Hackman, Cousins (1989) with Isabella Rossellini and Ted Danson, Double jeu (1999) with Morgan Freeman, and Run (1991) with Patrick Dempsey. His recent series work includes Smithers on Riverdale (2017); with work on Les Voyageurs du Temps (2016), Van Helsing (2016), and Family Law (2021). He has been a Vancouver based actor since 1975. For the past 25 years he's shared his life with the amazing actor Karin Konoval.
