The mythical and mysterious world of Monarch: Legacy of Monstersmight be about to expand in an unexpected way. The comic book division of Legendary, one of the studios behind the Apple TV+ series that features Godzilla, King Kong, and a host of other kaiju, has teamed up with Rocketship Entertainment to launch a Kickstarter campaign for an all-new graphic novel anthology exploring some of the lost adventures not seen on television. The book would contain five original stories involving fan-favorite characters, including Lee Shaw (who is portrayed by both Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell on the hit MonsterVerse show).

None of that will trivialize what Luffy has gone through, but all the same, it puts Luffy's hardships into perspective. Luffy's losses have been great, but not even he would understand what a handful of other anime characters have experienced in their own grim journeys.

Premiering a year ago this week, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters was an immediate hit for Apple TV, and rightfully so. As the first live-action Godzilla series to hit the small screen here in North America, anticipations were at an all-time high to see how everyones favorite Titan would fare on television, and the results did not disappoint. Now, nearly 365 days following Monarchs debut, Apple TV has provided fans with a huge update on Season 2.

Posting on X this morning, Apple TV revealed that production on Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Season 2 has officially begun. The announcement was accompanied by a photo (seen below) that shows a Monarch base in shambles, with a couple of jeeps nearby sporting the Apex Cybernetics logo. The Berserk: The Black Swordsman anime's Studio Eclypse will continue production despite a statement by official manga publisher Hakusensha declaring it copyright infringement.

Following Berserk Hakusensha's recent statement, rebuking Studio Eclypse's Berserk: The Black Swordsman fan anime project as copyright infringement, the studio has confirmed that the project will continue with some changes. In an X (formerly Twitter) post, Eclypse stated that it has never received "any type of formal cease and desist, takedown request, or letter asking us to stop the project." Eclypse adds that it has decided to establish communication with Berserk's IP holders and refers to an unnamed "great company within the industry" that will support it in its bid to adapt the "Black Swordsman" arc. It notably plans to become an "official studio" next year and is preparing pre-production materials and animation tests to pitch to Berserk's IP holders.

Studio Eclypse has dropped its debut anime trailer in English dub form for the highly-anticipated fan project titled Berserk: The Black Swordsman ahead of its 2025 release window. The new video has impressed many viewers with its improved cuts from Eclypse's initial Japanese-language trailer in May.

Via X (formerly Twitter) and YouTube, Studio Eclypse has released the first trailer for Berserk: The Black Swordsman in English dubbed, seen below. Notably, the new version features changes from the trailer first released on May 17, 2024, with Eclypse adding, "Thanks to the feedback received and our supporters, we have upgraded a number of cuts, added more in-between cels, and revamped some of the animation in hopes to make the experience more enjoyable, thank you for the support strugglers."

Monolith, a U.S.-based tabletop game publisher, has announced an official Berserk board game in partnership with the Japanese manga's publisher Hakusensha. The company has teased the upcoming Berserk game as "accessible, rich, and intuitive!"

Kentaro Miura's popular Berserk manga will receive the miniature board game as announced via a Monolith Instagram post.
