*1947 in Vyskov, Czechoslovakia. He is an actor, well known for Devil's Leutenant (1984), Vom Webstuhl zur Weltmacht (1983), Der Fall La Farge (1992), Love Until... (1995), Swing Kids (1993) or Trziste Senzací (1985).

He lived his childhood and youth with his parents, two brothers and one sister in Náchod. At the house, where they lived, the children theatrical company "White Swan" was created with help of their parents. He was member of Divadelní Studio Mladých (Theatrical Studio of Youngs) in Náchod, where he played Oberon in W. Shakespeare: A Midsumer Night's Dream or Kuba in J. K. Tyl: Tvrdohlavá zena (The Stubborn Woman). His father was a secondary school professor, translator and linguist.

V. Matejcek has studied Gymnasium in Náchod (1965) and the Department of Acting at the Theatrical Faculty of the Academy of Arts (DAMU) in Praha (Prague) - (1965-1969). By studies he played (1966) at the National Theater Praha in T. Wilder: The Skin of Our Teeth (Jen o chlup) and at the Theater of S. K. Neumann Praha (1966) in E. Rostand: Cyrano de Bergerac (De Valvert). He graduated with the role Franci in F. Langer: Periferie (1969).

He has dubbed many films into Czech representing the famous Czech school of dubbing: L'Affaire Maurizius (France 1954, Léonard Maurizius), The Ascent (Voskhozhdenie, Russia 1977, Sotnikov), Amy (USA 1981, Elliot Medford), A Csillagszemü (Oci jako hvezdy, Hungary 1977, Csillagszemü Jankó - Hvezdooký pasácek Janek), Uncle Tom's Cabin (USA 1976), Asya (Russia 1978, Gagin), A Tree Grows in Brooklyn (USA 1945, McShane)...

He translated some films into Czech and he is director of dubbing of their Czech version: The Fan (USA 1981), Ivan-Tsarevich i Seryy Volk, Russia 1991)...

V. Matejcek is author of the poetic prose O svatém Mikulási (About Saint Nicolas), which was performed in a line of concerts throughout the Czech Republic.

He translated A. A. Milne's books of poetry When We Were Very Young (Kdyz jsme byli velmi mladí) and Now We Are six (Ted je nám sest) into Czech, Praha, Egmont 2013.

He is author of the collection of poetry Domú (Home), publishing-house Pavel Mervart, Hradec Králové 2020.

Often he works for the Czech Radio. He is author of the script to the radio cycle One Thousend and One Nights and others: Kristian's Legend about St. Václav, S. Rachmaninov - Vespers, A. Dvorák - Moravian Duets, Erik Satie - Yuth - Stubborn - On the Banks of Ilissus...
