There’s still one week left in Oscar season, but the film calendar waits for nobody. Days after Hollywood descends upon the Dolby Theater to see who emerges victorious from this year’s awards race, the independent film world will turn its attention to Austin when the 2025 SXSW Film and TV festival kicks off next week. The lineup is filled with major premieres, from headliners starring A-list talent to indies that could serve as launchpads for the next wave of exciting voices.
One of those films looking to make its mark on festivalgoers is Dean Imperial’s “Caper,” for which IndieWire can exclusively debut the trailer. A comedy about all of the opportunities that technology creates for men to misbehave, the sex comedy follows a group of friends who spend a night trying to ensure their gross private communications don’t bring down their careers by falling into the wrong hands.

Comedian Walter Masterson revealed Thursday he’s spent the last month feeding pigeons outside of Fox News’ Midtown Manhattan headquarters in the hopes of turning the building into a bird sanctuary – and he told TheWrap all about it.
He posted a video showing himself tossing bird food around the News Corp building at 1211 Avenue of the Americas, quickly racking up views. In the clip, pigeons are seen descending on the snacks. He says it took weeks to prove to the animals that Fox News was their “home,” a place they can reliably find food each day, but now “they’re all ready” to dine when he shows up. The challenge in getting to that point, he said, was keeping them safe. He polled his Instagram followers on the healthiest avian offerings and always made sure he wasn’t teaching the birds to cross the busy Manhattan street in pursuit of his goods.

A Full Fathom 5 production, Sibling: Marcus Miller the Orphan Killer is getting set to make the rounds at several film festivals in Los Angeles. Smmtok involves childhood trauma and the character Marcus Miller turning from innocent youth to cold-blooded killer. The first trailer is very graphic, very cutting edge, and very not safe for work. Several characters are taken care of by Marcus' favourite tool, the axe. Others endure his torturer, while Marcus searches for some type of murderous resolution to the death of his parents. The trailer is inside, but this is over eighteen material folks.
The synopsis for Sibling: Marcus Miller the Orphan Killer:
"The intense story of a brother and his younger sister who witness their parents' violent murder at a very young age. The girl, Audrey, is adopted by a loving single father, while her brother, Marcus, is left to languish in an orphanage where he is abused.
