The parents of Trayvon Martin, the Florida teenager shot dead while walking home from a convenience store by George Zimmerman, have claimed they are owed at least $150,000 by the Weinstein Company.

According to documents filed by Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin in a Delaware bankruptcy court, the company formerly run by the disgraced Hollywood mogul entered into a deal to purchase the rights to a possible movie and TV series based on their book, Rest in Power: The Enduring Life of Trayvon Martin.

The parents of slain Florida teenager Trayvon Martin say The Weinstein Co. owes them at least $150,000 for optioning the film and television rights to their book that explores the aftermath of the 2012 shooting that launched the Black Lives Matter movement.

Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin filed documents in Delaware bankruptcy court, saying The Weinstein Co. and its television unit entered into a deal to purchase the rights to a possible movie and television series based on their book, Rest in Power: The Enduring Life of Trayvon Martin.

The parents say they are owed at least $150,000 as executive producers of the television series, episodes of which have been filmed but not yet aired. The Weinstein Co. also optioned the movie rights, though the studio has not yet exercised this option.

The photograph shown, taken of Trayvon Martin’s body hours after his death on February 26, 2012, is worked into the first episode of the six-part docuseries executive-produced by Trayvon’s parents, Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin and Jay-z. The filmmakers intentionally refrained from showing the slain 17-year-old’s body: The camera doesn’t pan out, but the dreadful reminder that Trayvon will never untie these laces sets in anyway.

This year’s Tribeca Film Festival will again live-stream a dozen panels and events exclusively on Facebook for free — no ticket or trip to Manhattan required.

The 12 sessions from Tribeca include the April 19 panel with HBO’s “Westworld” co-creators/showrunners/directors Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, along with cast members Evan Rachel Wood (pictured above), Thandie Newton, Jeffrey Wright, and James Marsden. They’ll be talking about the upcoming season 2 premiere, slated for April 22, after it screens at the festival.

Tribeca’s Facebook live-streams also are scheduled to include sessions with Spike Lee, Alec Baldwin, Jamie Foxx, Paris Hilton, Nathan Lane, Christine Baranski, André Leon Tally, Antonio Banderas, Terrance McNally and John Legend. The 2018 Tribeca Film Festival, presented by At&T, runs April 18-29.
