Exclusive: Police officer turned video game writer and technical director Morley Nelson is currently in production in Minnesota on Uncontained, a horror-thriller that he is directing from his original screenplay.

Uncontained takes place deep in the wintery forests of North America and centers on a Homeland Security agent desperately trying to conceal her son’s variant infection from the government. When the local militia take interest, she must rely on the special skills of a stranger with secrets of his own.

Courtney Blythe Turk (Assassination Nation) and Chris Goodson (The Thing About Pam) are producing, with Byung Sa (A Shot Through the Wall) exec producing. Nelson and Turk are starring alongside Peter O’Meara, Hayley LeBlanc and Brett Zimmerman.

David Mueller, the Colorado deejay convicted last summer of groping Taylor Swift at a 2013 meet and greet, has reportedly been hired by a Mississippi station.

According to the New York Daily News, the disgraced broadcaster is now working as the morning co-host of “Jackson & Jonbob” on Greenwood’s Kix 92.7 network, using the on-air name “Stonewall Jackson”—an infamous Confederate Civil War general. The weekly program airs between 5 and 9 a.m on Mondays.

Jeff Kandyba has been sketching in Colorado courtrooms since the 1980s. But after over three decades on the job witnessing some of Denver’s most high-profile cases, Kandyba’s work has finally been given national attention thanks to Taylor Swift.

The pop star has spent last week in a Denver courtroom facing former radio deejay David Mueller, who was found guilty on Monday of assault and battery against Swift for groping her at a meet-and-greet photo session in June 2013.

Since electronic devices including cameras were not allowed in the courtroom, the closest anyone had to seeing Swift in the trial was through Kandyba’s work.

A Denver judge has dismissed the case brought against Taylor Swift by former radio host David Mueller who claimed the pop star essentially ruined his career.

U.S. District Judge William Martinez said on Friday in court Mueller has insufficient evidence to prove the pop star got him fired, People confirms. Swift got visibly emotional in the courtroom after the ruling.

Mueller had sought $3 million in damages from Swift. His case against Swift’s mother, Andrea, was not dismissed and Swift’s case against Mueller for sexual assault remains ongoing.

Who is David Mueller?

At the time of the alleged incident, Mueller was a radio DJ for country music station 98.5 Kygo in Denver on the Ryno and Jackson morning show, going by "Jackson." He was invited to the June 2, 2013 meet-and-greet as part of his job, and that is where the alleged groping incident took place.

He was terminated from his position on June 4, 2013, two days after the alleged incident with Swift. Kygo claims Mueller was fired for violating the morality...

On Wednesday, a federal judge sanctioned Mueller for destroying multiple electronic devices containing key evidence in the case, according to the Denver Post.

If you’ve seen one alien invasion movie, you’ve seen them all. That is, until a filmmaker does something different. Men in Black was something different; witty jokes and a playful rapport between Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones made it one of the more memorable invasion films of the 90s.

Battle: Los Angeles, by contrast, is nothing new. Director Jonathan Liebesman and Writer Christopher Bertolini take several time-tested war and alien-invasion themes and mix them together to make a movie that is seventy percent entertainment, ten percent video game and twenty percent over-dramatized soap opera. If you are able to leave your alien-flick prejudices at home, you will actually get a kick out of Battle: Los Angeles, even if it draws out a healthy snicker at the height of a lofty emotional confrontation.

It’s a war for “our land, our families, our lives” and, for some reason, it’s failed to make any real impact among film critics. But is Battle: Los Angeles actually any good?

I was asking myself this question on the way into the cinema with a handful of friends for one main reason, no not because of the 32% Rotten rating on Rotten Tomatoes, but because, our side of the ocean at least, the studio were completely unwilling for anyone other than carefully selected print media outlets to review this film prior to release. Now for a big budget genre film, that’s practically unheard of. It’s a tactic normally reserved only for the crappiest of movies and the horror genre as a general rule, for fear of negative reviews. So why was it employed here and more importantly, should the studio have been that concerned in the first place?...

We here at Tmp have been looking forward to Battle: Los Angeles for months.  We raved about the first teaser trailer, and loved the theatrical one.  We were thrilled about a new clip this week, and were even able to snag an interview with one of the stars.  Obviously this is a film we've been anticipating.  But now that the film has graced theater screens nationwide, does it live up to our lofty expectations, or was the film doomed to disappoint from the start?

The Set Up:

Staff Sgt. Michael Nantz (Aaron Eckhart) is preparing to leave the military.  But before he does, he's pitted with training a newly built platoon of soldiers under the command of Lieutenant William Martinez (Ramon Rodriguez).  He thinks it will be an easy day, and an easy job.  But turmoil erupts when meteors cash land on Earth's surface and an evacuation is called.

In the sci-fi action-thriller Battle: Los Angeles, the possibility of UFOs landing on Earth becomes a terrifying reality when the world is attacked by unknown forces. The relentless marketing for Battle: Los Angeles admittedly psyched me up a bit. I hadn’t seen a good alien movie in a while, so seeing this trailer before every movie and during every commercial break didn’t turn me off completely. That said, after being bombarded by cool trailer after cool trailer, I expected something of a sci-fi/thriller experience. And I got that, to some extent. I also got a whole lot of military/war flick, though, which rubbed me the wrong way.

If you are into action and video games, then this is the movie for you… if you are looking for stellar acting or an amazing plot then you will be let down.

Battle: Los Angeles is the story of a pretty brutal attack on the Us, that showcases SSgt. Michael Nantz (Aaron Eckhart) and his last mission in his military career. After 20 years he finally asks to be let go. They grant his wish, but when trouble strikes they make him stick around for just one more mission. He is placed under the the rank of 2nd Lt. William Martinez (Ramon Rodriguez) and their entire Marine platoon, as well as the rest of the military, is sent out to fight the unknown enemy that is attacking cities all over the globe and trying to wipe out the population.

What they don’t realize is that the attack is not from this Earth.

Battle: Los Angeles seems like something we would get if Cloverfield and Independence Day had a love child. We have an unexpected alien invasion, they're heavily armed and after our resources, we have a shaky, documentary style camera, down-and-out underdogs, and some pretty awesome action scenes. If only we cared or could pay attention to the build-up.

We're brought into the lives of a young squad of marines a day before the invasion. Even their Lieutenant, William Martinez (Ramon Rodriguez) is new, only a month out of school. As the government figures out that those aren't asteroids coming at Earth, but an alien invader, they mobilize the marines for action. However, instead of their regular staff sergeant, who's out on leave, they get SSgt. Michael Nantz (Aaron Eckhart), a 20 year veteran who's seen more...

The Marines used to run commercials that would show a young man taking a sword and battling a fire-breathing dragon.  I was always left wondering if anyone ever saw one of those ads, thought "I need to get in on that dragon-fighting action" and were left sorely disappointed when they discovered that the job was short on dragon-slaying, but long on getting shot at. That recruitment ad has now been expanded to a feature length film with Jonathan Liebesman's Battle: Los Angeles.  While it's slightly more realistic than sword-fighting a dragon, a platoon of marines taking on space aliens isn't really what the actual job entails.  On a technical level, the film is a dazzling special effects punch of sight and sound that will keep you pinned to your seat and rooting for a small band of soldiers to complete their mission.  But there's nothing thoughtful underneath and the...

After nearly a decade of angling for serious political import, the alien invasion blockbuster has finally come home, ditching any implications of serious social issues in favor of hand-to-hand, relatively constant firefights between humans and their alien nemeses. This would be a cause to rejoice if Battle: Los Angeles was an at all engaging film, but it isn’t. It aims to provide as ‘realistic’ an impression of physical battle as has yet been conveyed in a science fiction film (and uses as much noise and fire as it feels is necessary to do it), but by calling out for your attention as relentlessly and obnoxiously as it does, it manages to have the complete opposite effect: that of stifling, constrictive apathy, even when the fate of the world itself is at stake. Battle: Los Angeles could have been an exhiliharating ride, but it’s almost impossible to get on.

With director Jonathan Liebesman's Battle: Los Angeles opening this weekend, I got to speak with most of the cast at the Los Angeles press junket.  As most of you know, the film tells the story of an alien invasion as seen through the eyes of a Marine platoon headed up by Aaron Eckhart.  The film also stars Michelle Rodriguez, Bridget Moynahan, Michael Pena and Ramon Rodriguez.  You can watch some clips and read the full synopsis here.
