Olivia Hussey, an Argentine-British actor noted for her performance as Juliet in Franco Zeffirelli’s acclaimed 1968 film “Romeo and Juliet,” passed away on Friday at her home, surrounded by her family. She was 73 years old.

Hussey had been facing breast cancer since 2008, and in 2018, she was told she had it again. Olivia died, and her official Instagram account said, “Olivia was a remarkable person whose warmth, wisdom, and pure kindness touched the lives of all who knew her.”

She became famous worldwide for her performance as Juliet, which she began when she was 15 years old. The film was notable for putting teenagers Hussey and Leonard Whiting in the lead parts. The goal was to make the ages of the young lovers seem more real. It was nominated for four Academy Awards, including Best Picture. Both stars were nominated for Golden Globes for Most Promising Newcomer.

Olivia Hussey, who dazzled moviegoers as the female lead in Franco Zeffirelli‘s noteworthy 1968 adaptation of Romeo and Juliet, died Friday at her Los Angeles home of breast cancer. She was 73.

The Argentina-born actress died “surrounded by her loved ones,” according to an announcement on her official Instagram account. “Olivia was a remarkable person whose warmth, wisdom, and pure kindness touched the lives of all who knew her,” the post reads.

She was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008.

Hussey was just 15 when she starred opposite British actor Leonard Whiting, 16, as Romeo in Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. Both were unknowns. The Paramount-distributed film, co-written by Zeffirelli, was nominated for the best picture Oscar and three other Academy Awards, and she received a David di Donatello prize and a Golden Globe for her efforts.

On Saturday, Lucie shared a couple of photos featuring her younger brother Desi. In the caption, she thanked Nick Luckinbill for a wonderful meal with their “special guest,” referring to her brother. She wrote, “Desi is alive and well, my friends – just likes to stay a bit ‘undercover.'”

Lucie went on to share that she was in Las Vegas for the weekend with her husband, Larry. There was a tribute to him during the 35th Anniversary of Star Trek V celebration at The Treksperts Convention. He played Spock’s brother, Sybok, in Star Trek V.

Billy Hinsche, singer in the Sixties boy band Dino, Desi and Billy and longtime member of the Beach Boys’ touring unit, has died at the age of 70.

Lucie Arnaz — the daughter of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz and whose brother Desi Arnaz Jr. was a member of Dino, Desi and Billy, along with Hinsche and Dean Martin’s son Dean Paul Martin — confirmed Hinsche’s death Saturday, revealing the cause as giant cell carcinoma.

The Olympic gold medallist - the ex-wife of American singer/actor nm0552162 autoDean Paul Martin[/link] - is currently undergoing treatment at the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center in Baltimore, Maryland, where representatives say her prognosis is very favourable.

As a result of her treatment, Hamill has been forced to temporarily withdraw from the Broadway on Ice U.S. tour, but hopes to rejoin the tour later this month, reports Access Hollywood.
