Dinner with the Alchemist Presents a Case of Mystery: A Preview
Actor George Katt is set to make his directorial debut in the indie feature, Dinner with the Alchemist. Previous works of talented individual include Red Sheep, Valley of Angels, In the Gray and, most recently, House of Bodies. The latter is in post-production and is set for a 2013 release. This thriller sounds just as exciting as Alchemist, and both should prove interesting. While Dinner may not bear a similar design with Ben Jonson’s play “The Alchemist,” where it satirizes the vices of mankind, this movie’s historical setting is worth noting. Principal photography is set to begin in October and it will use the backdrop of both Virginia and New Orleans to give this film an authentic feel. Set in the 1900s, a kismet meeting between famous alchemist Jacques St. Germaine (Christian Martin) and a young orphan named Mary (Stef Dawson) will set in motion a string of grisly...

Brendan Fraser Saves the Children in Action-Thriller Split-decision
Brendan Fraser has been struggling on the big screen in the last few years after The Mummy dried up and Dwayne Johnson muscled him out of the Journey franchise.  That being said, Fraser has a slew of projects lined up for the next few years; count the action-thriller Split-Decision among them.  Starring as a father who must protect his children from killer brothers after witnessing a murder, Split-Decision doesn't sound like the typical light-hearted fantasy fare we're used to seeing in Fraser's family films.  Hit the jump to see who'll be filling in the roles of Split-Decision. THR reports that Fraser will be joined by Holly Deveaux (Victoria Day), Christian Martin, Daniel Kash (Aliens), Dominic Purcell (Prison Break) and Ethan Suplee (American History) in writer/director Damian Lee's Split-Decision.  Deveaux and Martin play Fraser's children who go on a camping trip with a family friend, played by Kash.  They...

Sequels: 'Home Alone 5,' 'The Cat in the Hat' Gets Animated and 'Jurassic Park' Returns in 3D
For those who were brave enough to endure Home Alone 4, you might have thought that was the end of the franchise. Well, apparently not as ABC Family is moving forward with Home Alone 5. The fifth installment in the franchise will completely scrap Kevin McAllister from the franchise and instead rely on Finn, an eight-year-old played by Christian Martin. From there, the story pretty much plays out like the previous four films. Finn will be trapped in an old, creepy house with his sister while their parents are marooned on the opposite side of town. A character twist has been added in which entails Finn believing in ghosts and setting trap to catch said haunts in his house. So when thieves come around, the traps are already set.   Home Alone 5 is set to air on ABC Family next...
