Rod Stewart has been paying tribute to Ozzy Osbourne on his current US tour by performing “Forever Young” alongside a bizarre AI-generated video that shows the metal legend taking selfies in heaven with other deceased music icons.
As seen at multiple shows on Stewart’s ongoing tour, and captured on video at his Friday (August 1st) concert in Alpharetta, Georgia, the weird clip depicts Ozzy taking selfies with Prince, Tina Turner, Bob Marley, Freddie Mercury, Kurt Cobain, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, George Michael, Amy Winehouse, 2Pac, and even rapper XXXTentacion.

What was meant to be Rod Stewart’s in-concert tribute to Ozzy Osbourne has instead been met with criticism and ridicule after video of the tribute — featuring AI images of Osbourne and other gone-too-soon artists — emerged on social media.
During Stewart’s last handful of concerts since Osbourne’s July 22 death, he has dedicated his song “Forever Young” to the Black Sabbath singer. However, what originally started as a normal tribute — with a simple image of Osbourne shown on the video screens — recently took a bizarre turn when “Forever Young...

Hollywood is hung up on Madonna, but a biopic remains a frozen secret. Regardless, the legendary singer’s life is going to make it to screen eventually — although whether it gets to the small or big screen first is yet to be determined. This week, “Weapons” star Julia Garner — who was announced to star in a Madonna movie way back in 2022 — confirmed on the podcast “Smartless” that, in spite of reports to the contrary, the project “Like a Virgin” is still very much in gestation.
“That’s supposed to still happen,” she said (via Variety). Garner was set to star alongside Julia Fox, who would play Madonna Bff and frequent music video co-star Debi Mazar. Fox spoke with IndieWire in 2024 about the movie’s reported shelving by Universal, seeming similarly ambiguous.
“I know it was gonna be either tour or movie and then she went on tour,” Fox said. “So...

Lauryn Hill played to a largely empty stadium Friday night as part of the 2025 Essence Festival of Culture, after taking the stage hours after scheduled.
While Hill has a bit of a reputation for late shows, this time it appeared out of her hands as Essence’s first day as a whole started late on Friday. Hill had been added to the lineup days prior — with the rest of Friday’s lineup including GloRilla, the Isley Brothers, Babyface and Maxwell. Coco Jones, who also stars on the Peacock show Bel-Air, was an unannounced performer. Singer Lucky Daye and Kandi Burruss’ girl group, Psiryn, were also early performers.

"My richness is life." Regal Cinemas and Blue Fox Ent. have debuted another official trailer to celebrate the 2025 re-release of this iconic documentary titled Marley about the Jamaican reggae maestro Bob Marley. Made by director Kevin Macdonald, the director originally opened in 2012 and earned a BAFTA nomination. It was also re-released in 2020 to celebrate Bob's 75th birthday (we also posted a trailer then), but this was right during the middle of the pandemic summer. Now it's out for another round again - playing in theaters nationwide in 2025 in honor of what would have been Bob Marley's 80th birthday. Featuring rare footage, never-before-seen performances, and interviews with Marley’s family, friends, and collaborators, Marley offers an intimate and comprehensive look at the man behind the music. The film explores his journey from humble beginnings on the island of Jamaica to becoming one of the most influential musicians of all time, spreading messages of love,...

You know, I'm something of a humbug myself. In one of the most insane film announcements in living memory, and yet one that makes a lot of sense, Willem Dafoe is the top target to star in A Christmas Carol under the direction of Robert Eggers, the visceral and demented filmmaker behind the likes of The Witch, The Lighthouse,The Northman and Nosferatu. Dafoe is set to take on the iconic role of Ebeneezer Scrooge. The project is currently in development at Warner Bros. Pictures, with Eggers not only set to write and direct, but also produce alongside Chris Columbus and Elenor Columbus via their Maiden Voyage banner.
For Eggers, A Christmas Carol is practically tailor-made. The 1843 novella by Charles Dickens isn’t just a festive fable—it’s a grim, Gothic tale filled with ghosts, regret, and redemption. Add in Eggers’ love of period-accurate misery, candlelit horror, and the...

Sly Stone, who took audiences higher during memorable performances at Woodstock and the Fillmore West, but whose career was plagued by drug problems and periodic disappearances, has died. He was 82.
Stone died after a “prolonged battle with Copd and other underlying health issues,” his family said Monday.
“It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved dad, Sly Stone of Sly and the Family Stone,” they wrote in a statement. “Sly passed away peacefully, surrounded by his three children, his closest friend, and his extended family. While we mourn his absence, we take solace in knowing that his extraordinary musical legacy will continue to resonate and inspire for generations to come.”

Dakota Johnson has moved to separate herself from the fortunes of Sony’s 2024 superhero outing Madame Web, telling the Los Angeles Times that the picture’s fate was sealed by “a lot of creative decisions … made by committee” and insisting “it wasn’t my fault.” Her remarks, echoed in fresh interviews published this week, underscore a year-long post-mortem on one of the weakest performers in the recent wave of Marvel-branded releases.
The $80 million production opened to $15.3 million in the United States and finished its run with $43.8 million domestic and $100.5 million worldwide. By comparison, Sony’s 2024 slate included several titles that doubled or tripled that figure, leaving Madame Web at the bottom of the studio’s annual ledger.
Critics registered a rare 11 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes, and the film collected Razzie trophies for Worst Picture and Worst Actress, further intensifying the spotlight on its shortcomings.

Who knows you more than a child, ay? And yet not even Prince William – son and heir to King Charles – was able to predict what songs the old man would include in his newly launched playlist.
King pa who? This monarch seemingly loves to jam out like the rest of us. Huh. Who’d have thought. Not William that’s for sure.
Prince William Opens Up About His Father’s Taste In Music During Mentivity House Visit
Have you listened to the songs on King Charles’ Apple Music playlist, titled The King’s Music Room?
Well, if you have maybe your opinions about the monarch’s taste in music may reflect William’s.
It’s not a new thing that William could totally charm any room he’s in, and it was no different during his Mentivity House visit, where he got to play video games with some young people.

In 1972, ABC aired an exposé on the Willowbrook State School in Staten Island, New York, which had been accused of abusing and neglecting its intellectually challenged wards. A young, hungry investigative reporter named Geraldo Rivera took a camera crew inside the institution, and gave the country a firsthand look at the appalling conditions the underage patients were forced to endure. Thousands upon thousands of viewers reacted with shock, anger and demands for Willowbrook to close its doors forever. Two of them, sitting in a cluttered apartment in Greenwich Village, decided...

Sometimes concerts come with a history lesson. Monday’s main event at New York’s City Winery was one such evening, as the organization If You Heard What I Heard presented a “Night of Resilience” fundraiser. The headliner was reggae rapper Matisyahu, but the main focus was never forgetting the Holocaust.
Matisyahu has turned into a lightning rod, vocally supporting Israel at a time when protests over the Gaza war are starting to spike again. Last year, three of his concerts were canceled when staffers refused to work at the venues. There was no such problem at City Winery, which was patrolled by a large security force hired by the nonprofit. They weren’t taking any chances.

The deal comes weeks after The Hollywood Reporter first broke the news on the deal’s development.. Primary Wave didn’t disclose the financial details of the deal. Sources previously told THR that Biggie’s publishing rights were up for about $100 million, while the master rights were on the table for another 30 to 50 million. British royal family news divulges that King Charles is now looking at alternate cancer treatments amid his ongoing battle with cancer.
Buckingham Palace sources spill that the monarch has tried medical cannabis as a complementary treatment to chemotherapy. According to GeoTV, research suggests that the plant may destroy cancer cells and provide pain relief.
King Charles’ Alt Med Treatments
A palace aide told Radar Online that the regent is willing to try a plethora of potential cures: “The cancer diagnosis has rocked him to the core and he feels there’s no harm in trying something experimental.”
The king supports homeopathic medicines “and sees there is no danger in trying the cannabis route. He’s read all the studies around its benefits and is giving it a go.”
On a down note the aide added that the monarch “wants to make it until at least his 77th birthday – but knows...

The Makings of Curtis Mayfield is a bit of a misleading title for the oblique documentary directed by the Grammy- and Oscar-winning musician H.E.R. The name, a riff on Mayfield’s honeyed 1970 ballad “The Makings of You,” implies an intimacy with the subject and promises a detailed, if not necessarily comprehensive, introduction to the radical artist.
But H.E.R.’s film, which premiered at SXSW, doesn’t really offer any of that. The musician finds her own way to capture Mayfield, one that relies heavily on conversations with filmmakers, producers and fellow musicians. The path occasionally yields a fascinating insight — like when Jimmy Jam talks about how Mayfield was one of the first Black artists to own their master recordings — but more often it can feel a little too meandering and disjointed. Mayfield the person frequently gets lost in the mélange of testimonies.
That might be alienating for general...

Kate Middleton joined her husband, Prince William, King Charles and Queen Camilla, Princess Anne, and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester yesterday for the annual Commonwealth Day Services.
This Year’s Commonwealth Day Marked The 80th Anniversary Of The End Of World War II
The commemorations marked the 80th centenary of the ending of the Second World War and it was a celebration of the Family of Nations, which is how the Commonwealth is often described.
It was the first time the Princess of Wales attended the event since her cancer treatment. Kate looked radiant and dignified as usual as she walked with William. She was wearing a bold red Catherine Walker Beau Tie coat dress, which featured a fashionable bow.
Her jewelry was also notable as she accessorized with pearl earrings that once belonged to Princess Diana. She also wore the late Queen Elizabeth II’s Japanese pearl choker.

Few wardrobe staples are as iconic as a denim jacket and musicians have long embraced the layering piece as part of their on-stage — and off-stage — looks. From Bob Marley and Bob Dylan to Madonna and Pharrell, a denim jacket can be at once luxe and laidback, spanning genres as varied as country and hip-hop, and all ages, genders and personal expressions too.

Depeche Mode, the post-synth-pop group that made sensual broodiness a part of the mainstream, have returned with a new album titled Memento Mori. You can stream it below.
Memento Mori, their first album in five years, is also their official return after the loss of founding member Andrew “Fletch” Fletcher in 2022. Their 15th record and much like many others of the last few years, Memento Mori is rooted in the unexpectedly free time the pandemic granted. The loneliness it bred thematically strings the tracks together, along with some more characteristically defining tropes of the group, like the binary between depuration and delight, and delusive devotion. Production by James Ford and Marta Salogni was key in communicating such rich yet glum atmospheres.
In an interview with Zane Lowe from Apple Music 1, Dave Gahan touched on how minimalism was a part of the group’s approach to the new album. “Some of...

After “Mulk” (2018), “Article 15” (2019), “Thappad” (2020) and “Anek” (2022), filmmaker Anubhav Sinha is back with “Bheed,” another hard-hitting film that shines a light on the fabric of Indian society.
The film is set during the 2020 Indian pandemic lockdown and tells the poignant story of migrant workers stranded without basic necessities while trying to go home to their villages. Shot in black and white, it is deliberately evocative of the 1947 partition of the Indian subcontinent into India and Pakistan when people were uprooted from their homes in the largest migration in history.
“When the pandemic hit, people were seeking help on Twitter. Everybody had different strengths so we were helping each other and, and I really got sucked into it. And that was the time when I felt that this film had to be made, this period of time has to be recorded, and I didn’t want it to be just a Coronavirus film,...

Tilda Swinton returned to the SXSW Film & TV stage for the first time in nine years, and in it she shared profound ideas about ambition, about why she hesitates to call herself an “actor,” about the joy of returning to public places after the pandemic. But the real burning question of the afternoon, and the one that really got Swinton going, was a question about a viral video.
If you haven’t seen it, you’re in for a treat. Swinton last year went viral for a reaction of her fangirling to a barista’s latte art. She was astonished, and didn’t stop being astonished for a solid 30 minutes. Watch it below.
During her keynote panel on Monday in conversation with Sundance director Eugene Hernandez, Swinton was asked via an online audience question about her reaction to seeing her face in a foamy cup of coffee: “The purity of...

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever director Ryan Coogler explains Rihanna's involvement in the film. The upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe movie is the highly-anticipated sequel to the 2018 blockbuster by the same director, Black Panther. As the final film in the McU's Phase Four, the box office projections for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever are already nearing 200 million, promising another hit for Marvel. The film is also set to pay tribute to the first film's lead, Chadwick Boseman, whose tragic passing due to colon cancer has been mourned both on- and off-screen since it occurred in 2020.
The success of Black Panther can be attributed to many factors, including Boseman's exceptional performance and energy as T'Challa. The soundtrack, created in collaboration with musical artist Kendrick Lamar, was certainly also a component. Since the soundtrack for the first film was such a big hit with both critics and listeners, many have eagerly anticipated information on the sequel's track list.

At long, long last we’re getting new music from Rihanna. After her 2016 album Anti, which was a significant creative departure from her previous records and her first album since departing Def Jam Records, fans have been waiting impatiently for more material.
The singer hasn’t just been twiddling her thumbs all this time, though. She has an extensive business portfolio, with one of her biggest being the Fenty Beauty brand which was founded in 2017, and has expanded into a profitable lingerie and skincare line as well.
She also had several huge acting roles since releasing Anti, including as a cast member of Ocean’s 8 and a major role in the science fiction film Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. Rihanna is also a new mom, having had a child with the rapper Aap Rocky.
