Another underrated action movie starring Liam Neeson is heading to Tubi. After becoming a hit on Netflix at the start of the year, Non-Stop is being added to the free streaming service in July.

Non-Stop will become available to stream on Tubi beginning July 1. Released in 2014, the mystery action thriller stars Neeson as an alcoholic ex-NYPD officer turned Federal Air Marshal named Bill Marks who must find the killer on an international flight from New York to London after receiving texts saying someone on board will die every 20 minutes until financial demands are met. Fasten your seatbelt: The best airplane thrillers to stream today
Image
From hijackings to mind games at cruising altitude, these in-flight thrillers will have you gripping your armrest.

The new Mark Wahlberg thriller now in theaters, “Flight Risk” caught my attention and I’m planning on seeing it this week. Wahlberg (who I always have time for) plays a pilot navigating an intense flight with an air marshal and a fugitive on board. Set against the backdrop of the Alaskan wilderness, the film promises high-altitude suspense and a ton of “not all is as it seems” twists. It got me thinking about why thrillers on airplanes are so powerful. Maybe it’s because each one of us has had a moment on a flight during major turbulence where the thought has crossed our minds… “If this goes down, there’s not a lot of hope.”

In short, the stakes are just so high, and there are plenty of movies that capture that tension.

Fans of Netflix's 'Carry-On' Should Revisit Liam Neeson's 'Non-Stop'
Image
The Christmas action-film genre has been the focus of many projects in recent times. Netflix's Carry-On, which made its debut on December 13, 2024, is yet another addition to this category. Seamlessly blending holiday cheer with gritty, tense action, Carry-On was an instant hit with viewers, firmly establishing itself on Netflix's charts. The film currently claims the fifth spot on Netflix's list of Top 10 Most Popular Movies of all time, and has an impressive 156.5 million views.

Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra and starring Taron Egerton, Jason Bateman, and Sofia Carson, Carry-On follows Egerton's Ethan Kopek as he gets roped into a criminal conspiracy courtesy of Bateman's villain, who simply goes by the name 'Traveler'. Kopek, a Tsa agent, is forced to pass a specific bag through security, preventing its contents being flagged. If he fails to do so, his pregnant wife dies. However, Kopek is not a sheep who can simply be herded,...

Liam Neeson's 11-Year-Old Movie From Carry-On Director Becomes a Hit on Netflix
Image
Liam Neeson has starred in many action films in his illustrious career. In 2014, he starred in Non-Stop, which was a major commercial hit, and the film is now finding success on Netflix, too.

The week between Dec. 30 and Jan. 6 came with several new films on Netflix, and Non-Stop was among them, as well as Horizon: An American Saga: Chapter 1 and Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. Neeson's action film, which also starred Julianne Moore, ended up beating both 2024 films for a higher position. At the end of the week, Non-Stop secured the sixth spot on the global charts with 4.2 million views.

Liam Neeson's 'Non-Stop' is Global Streaming Hit on Netflix After Being Removed from U.S. Platform
Image
Liam Neeson’s popularity continues to see his older movies pull in impressive audience volumes – even then they have left a platform. The actor’s 2014 action thriller Non-Stop was dropped from the Netflix U.S. platform on January 1, but the movie’s availability around the world has seen it continue to secure a stop on the global Top 10. The airborne thriller is one of several movies of Neeson’s currently dominating the streaming charts, and despite the actor heading closer to retirement from such heavy-duty roles, fans are watching his back catalog…well, non-stop.

Non-Stop sees Neeson playing U.S. Air Marshal Bill Marks, a man with personal demons – and a set of skills – who finds himself targeted on board a flight from New York to London. After receiving a text message threatening to kill a passenger every 20 minutes until $150 million is transferred to the terrorist’s bank account, Marks must play a tense,...

'Non-Stop' Starring Liam Neeson Departs Netflix In January
Image
If there’s one actor who is synonymous with the action genre, it’s Liam Neeson. He’s made a career out of playing no-nonsense heroes who aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty, and are as skilled with their fists as they are with a phone call warning. Fans of the actor will be disheartened to learn that one of his popular action thrillers, Non-Stop, is officially leaving Netflix on Jan. 1, 2025. So, if you were planning on starting the New Year watching a Federal Air Marshal battling a bad guy on a transatlantic flight, better buckle up and catch it before it leaves the streaming platform.

Released in 2014, Non-Stop stars Neeson as Bill Marks, a jaded U.S. Air Marshal dealing with personal demons and a fear of flying by getting on a transatlantic flight. During the journey, Marks receives a series of cryptic messages from an unknown sender...

After Carry-On, This Liam Neeson Movie From 10 Years Ago Is A Must Watch While It's Still On Netflix
Image
Netflix's recent movie Carry-On is an exciting new thriller with a Christmas setting that is reminiscent of holiday action movies like Die Hard, as well as the Lian Neeson lead Non-Stop. Carry-On stars Taron Egerton as a Tsa agent who unwillingly gets involved in a plot to smuggle a nerve agent through airport security and onto a plane. The action thriller creates tense scenes between Egerton's Ethan and Jason Bateman's "The Traveler" as they each attempt to outsmart the other, leading to Carry-On's exciting final fight scene.

Carry-On is also a great reminder to watch a 10-year-old Liam Neeson movie that is strikingly similar. Non-Stop is another action movie that takes place on a plane with similar action and main characters, making it great to watch after Carry-On. Both movies are action-packed and utilize their casts to make the sequences of attempting to find the villain even more thrilling.

Alcoholic werewolf cop Lou Garou (Leo Fafard) springs into action when an eccentric businessman with evil intentions seduces Woodhaven's residents with a new brewery and hockey team in this outrageous horror-comedy sequel. Directed by Lowell Dean (WolfCop), the film stars Amy Matysio (Stranded), Jonathan Cherry (Goon: Last of the Enforcers...

Doctor Who Video Introduces Pearl Mackie as the New Companion
Christopher Eccleston, Peter Capaldi, David Tennant, Matt Smith, and Jodie Whittaker in Doctor Who (2005)
It's official! Doctor Who has found its New Companion. Meet Bill, as introduced in a video just released by The BBC. She is played by newcomer Pearl Mackie. The character will be introduced on Doctor Who Season 10, starring alongside the current Time Lord, Peter Capaldi, sometime next year.

Pearl Mackie replaces former Companion Jenna Coleman, who exited the series last season. Coleman took an early leave so she could star in the ITV drama series Victoria. She will be playing that show's eponymous Queen. At this time, Jenna Coleman is not scheduled to make an appearance in Doctor Who Season 10.

Pearl Mackie's Bill will first be introduced in the annual Christmas special coming this December. She will then become a full time member of the Doctor Who cast in 2017, with new episodes set to air in the States on BBC America. The role of Bill marks Pearl Mackie's first major TV role.

Dye Another Day: Jaume Collet-Serra and Liam Neeson’s Three Colors Trilogy
Solid ground doesn’t exist in the cinema of Jaume Collet-Serra and Liam Neeson. Theirs is an action cinema of distress where the mental instability of each protagonist blurs the boundaries of seemingly tight spatial parameters. Conflict unfolds violently and manipulatively within manmade (and psychological) bubbles, as vast as the multiple boroughs of New York City or as small as the cramped fuselage of a passenger jet. There is no escape, only the desperate and unflinching pursuit of truth, moral direction, and family safety. The bad guys often win, but the good guys always gain closure.Angular compositions and desperate tracking shots populate 2011’s Unknown, 2014’s Non-Stop, and 2015’s Run All Night. Images overlap, tip, ascend and dive to visualize the world as one big box of quick sand. The camera propels through space like a boomerang, challenging logic and defying gravity with reckless abandon. Every step forward brings us...

Image Entertainment Acquires WolfCop
Imagine if high school student Scott Howard from Teen Wolf grew up, became a functioning alcoholic, and got a job as a cop in a small town. Sound interesting? If so, then you might like writer/director Lowell Dean’s film, WolfCop, which premiered earlier this year at the Cannes Film Festival and has just been acquired by Image Entertainment.

Image Entertainment has gained all Us rights to WolfCop, which was presented by CineCoup upon its release. After a positive reception at Cannes, CineCoup in May announced a sequel, revealing that production on WolfCop 2 would begin in the fall with Lowell Dean returning to direct.

“It’s not unusual for alcoholic cop Lou Garou to black out and wake up in unfamiliar surroundings, but lately things have taken a strange turn.

Crime scenes seem oddly familiar. Lou’s senses are heightened, and when the full moon is out, he’s a rage-fueled werewolf.

DVD Review: 'Non-Stop'
★★☆☆☆Competing for the record number of red herrings in a single motion picture, Non-Stop (2013) initially teases ninety minutes of high-concept fun, but quickly gets bogged down in a mire of tired clichés, laboured characters and distracting plot-holes. A huge waste of star Liam Neeson, Jaume Collet-Serra's airborne whodunit is reminiscent of the kind of disposable cinematic fodder so often churned out during the late-nineties. Neeson plays Bill Marks, an ex-cop turned ostracised Us Federal Air Marshal who is first introduced sat in his car, sloshing whisky into a coffee cup and delicately stroking the photo of his late daughter (he may as well be holding up a placard inscribed with 'tortured hero').

Non-stop Blu-ray Review
Liam Neeson has become the go-to asskicker of late. Even more so than Jason Statham, audiences have responded to Neeson’s world-weary charms and commanding presence. So it should be no surprise that Jaume Collet-Serra’s Non-Stop was a modest hit earlier this year. Neeson stars as air marshal Bill Marks, who is forced to act when he’s contacted on an international flight to deliver a $150 Million ransom or a passenger will die every twenty minutes. My review of Non-Stop follows after the jump. The film starts by showing that Marks is a burnout, as it opens with him having a large covert drink and a smoke. As should be obvious because it’s a movie, the reason for his depression will be made evident during the film during a critical third act reveal. The film then introduces a number of the people on his flight. Before he boards...

Win an action movie bundle from Non-Stop
To mark the release of Non-stop on 30th June, we’ve been given 3 action movie bundles containing End of Watch, Broken City, Rush, and Unknown to give away.

Global action star Liam Neeson (Taken series, Unknown) is U.S. Air Marshal Bill Marks in Non-Stop, a suspense thriller played out at 40,000 feet in the air. During a transatlantic flight from New York City to London, Marks receives a series of cryptic text messages demanding that he instruct the airline to transfer $150 million into a numbered account. Until he secures the money, a passenger on his flight will be killed every 20 minutes.

Struggling with personal demons, Marks is left drained of any passion for the heroic calling of his profession. He has come to view his important assignment as merely a desk job in the sky. However, another day at the office becomes a high-stakes crisis when shortly into a routine transatlantic flight,...

"A Fighting Man" On Blu-ray and DVD - June 24, 2014
From levelFILM, Sneak Peek writer/director Damien Lee's boxing drama "A Fighting Man", available on Blu-ray and DVD, June 24, 2014, starring Dominic Purcell ("Prison Break"), Famke Janssen ("X-Men"), James Caan ("Rollerball"), Kim Coates ("Sons Of Anarchy"), Oscar winner Louis Gosset Jr. and Izaak Smith:

"...'A Fighting Man' is a brutal, disquieting look at two men who meet head to head in the ring for a fight that will change their lives. As one man (Purcell) fights for redemption and forgiveness, the other (Smith) fights for change and hope. Intense, fierce and highly dramatic, it's as much of a character story as it is a boxing movie, and by the end, they realize, whether win or lose, they'll need each other to make it through..."

Producers are Gary Howsam and Bill Marks and executive produced by Jeff Sackman.

Non-Stop Blu-Ray Review
Liam Neeson may have launched his career with serious fare like Schindler’s List, but the moment Taken ignited at the box office, it became obvious that the actor had found his niche. Since that modern action classic, he’s led The A-Team, unraveled an assassination plot in Unknown, faced down wolves in The Grey and once again combatted human traffickers in Taken 2. The actor’s formula for these action flicks is pretty clear-cut. Neeson plays a gruff but likable badass, who’s hurtled into an impossible situation and forced to fight his way out, all the while maintaining his intrinsic dignity. The actor’s latest, Non-Stop, never tries to break away from that formula, though director Jaume Collet-Serra (who previously helmed Unknown with Neeson) does make a cliché-riddled ride enjoyable.

Quickly establishing a sense of claustrophobia and expertly handling a number of close-quarters action sequences, Collet-Serra proves capable...

Blu-ray Review: ‘Non-Stop’ Has Formulaic Script But Fresh Thrills
Chicago – “Non-Stop” gave audiences more than just “‘Taken’ on a plane” when it opened last February, and showed that the inflight experience is efficiently vulnerable action thriller territory. With audiences having taken a break from commercial airline chaos after 9/11, “Non-Stop” brought viewers back into the peril of an unsafe flight, but with a leading hero by Liam Neeson at the helm. Nevertheless, even when knowing how the flight ends, “Non-Stop” is a refined thriller that still has a grip on one’s attention in a second viewing as well.

Rating: 3.5/5.0

Director Jaume Collet-Sera creates a visually smooth experience out of a script that isn’t as air tight, but is also too tricky to be entirely predictable. Neeson continues to do what he does best, without having to really change his inherent action movie image from how audiences see him. The combination of the two creates a distinct film experience,...

VOD Spotlight: Non-Stop
Non-Stop tells the story of Bill Marks (Liam Neeson), a troubled air marshal who is on a trans-Atlantic flight when he gets a text message on a secure phone requesting the transfer of $150 million in order to prevent a series of deaths from happening on the plane. Most of the film takes place within the confines of the plane, a setup that posed a unique set of challenges for the filmmakers. However, director Jaume Collet-Serra was not intimidated by the idea of creating action scenes on such a small set. He envisioned that the contained environment would actually make … Continue reading →
