Orphan Black: Echoes showrunner Anna Fishko offers an optimistic response about the future of the AMC show. Consisting of ten episodes, the Orphan Black spinoff stars Breaking Bad and Jessica Jones actor Krysten Ritter as Lucy, a woman who wakes up with no memory of who she is. As the series progresses, more is revealed about a cloning conspiracy that carries strong connections with the original series. The thrill of discovery that accompanied my first viewing of the Orphan Black pilot is one of the highlights of the 20-something years I’ve been doing this job. It’s rare that a show emerges from so far off the radar — relatively mysterious plot, relatively unknown creative auspices, relatively unknown star, relatively unproven network brand — and so instantly establishes itself as worthy of obsession. The new trailer for Snowpiercer season 4 highlights the high stakes of the final episodes, previewing more than one potentially deadly showdown. After the news that the dystopian sci-fi show's final episodes would not air on TNT, it was announced in March that Snowpiercer season 4 found a new home on AMC and AMC+. The deal came about as the episodes had already been filmed and completed, bringing closure to major stories after more than a two-year absence.

Snowpiercer season 4 was cancelled in January 2023 after previously being renewed. Season 4 has now found a new home on AMC and AMC Plus, and the new season will release in early 2025. Seasons 1-3 will release on AMC Plus toward the end of 2024.

Snowpiercer’s final season will see the light of day after all.

AMC has picked up rights to all four seasons of the post-apocalyptic drama — including the completed but never aired fourth season. The series first aired on TNT, but the Warner Bros. Discovery network canceled the show in January 2023 as it and sister channels TBS and TruTV left the scripted business.

The first two seasons of Snowpiercer will begin streaming on AMC+ on June 1, with season three following a week later. The final season will debut July 21 on both AMC and AMC+ — a change from the network’s earlier plans to air the final season in early 2025.

TNT‘s series adaptation of Bong Joon Ho’s “Snowpiercer” (which was based on the French graphic novel Le Transperceneige by Jacques Lob) kicked off back in 2020, with three seasons aired between 2020 and 2022. The show’s fourth season has been filmed, but in a strange twist of fate we’ve learned this week that it won’t actually be airing on TNT at all.

Deadline reports, “Snowpiercer, the only remaining original scripted series on TNT, is done on the Warner Bros. Discovery network. The post-apocalyptic drama’s completed fourth and final season will not run on the basic cable network as previously announced. The move is believed to be part of the tax write-offs for content at Wbd.”

“I hear the studio behind it, Tomorrow Studios, is currently shopping the new season, along with potential prequel and sequel, with the goal to build a franchise,” Deadline adds.

Production on TNT’s “Snowpiercer” has been stopped due to safety concerns involving extremely high temperatures on set (via Deadline). The series was filming in British Columbia, where temperatures frequently reached the mid-90s. Multiple cast and crew members experienced cases of heat exhaustion, and 14 people were reportedly taken to the local hospital for treatment. Soon after, producers made the decision to suspend filming until temperatures became more manageable.

AMC has officially ordered a followup to “Orphan Black,” Variety has learned.

Titled “Orphan Black: Echoes,” the new series is set in the near future and takes a deep dive into the exploration of the scientific manipulation of human existence. Production got underway today in Vancouver, Canada on Season 4 of TNT’s Snowpiercer, with new cast members Clark Gregg (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D ) and Tony winner Michael Aronov (The Drop). As production begins on Snowpiercer Season 4 — and ahead of tonight’s Season 3 finale — TNT has announced that Agent of Shield favorite Clark Gregg is boarding the dystopian drama.

Michael Aronov (The Americans) is also joining the cast for Season 4, which was greenlit way back in July; no character details were disclosed for either actor.

The new “Orphan Black” series in the works at AMC has found its writer.

Variety has learned exclusively that Anna Fishko is onboard to write and executive produce the potential new iteration of the series, which was first reported as being in the works back in 2019. A writers’ room for the project is now open, though exact plot details remain under wraps.

It is known, however, that the project is not a reboot of the original show, but rather a new story set in the same world. Boat Rocker Studios, a division of Boat Rocker Media, will produce.

Fishko is no stranger to working with AMC, having been a writer and supervising producer on “Fear the Walking Dead” for the basic cabler during the show’s fourth season in 2018.

One of the strongest features of Snowpiercer is the show’s ability to figure out ways to create claustrophobia. Granted, that’s easy on a train; it’s not exactly the sort of environment in which you can spread out and social distance from your neighbors. On the last train, however, that situation is even more dire, especially if you’re in third class or stuck in the tail. The people on board Snowpiercer toil away elbow to elbow with their fellows, making clothes, breaking up ice, cooking and growing food, even entertaining in the club car. There’s not a space to be alone, unless you’re the leader of the anti-Wilford resistance, and that means you’re alone in a room the size and temperature of a meat locker.

TNT released a trailer for Season 3 of “Snowpiercer,” which premieres on Jan. 24, 2022 at 9 p.m.

The series, an adaptation of Bong Joon Ho’s 2013 film and Jacques Lob’s 1982 graphic novel of the same name, follows the last living human beings who take refuge on a perpetually moving train after the Earth becomes a frozen wasteland. Season 3 stars include Jennifer Connelly, Daveed Diggs, Sean Bean, Rowan Blanchard, Alison Wright, Mickey Sumner, Iddo Goldberg, Katie McGuinness, Lena Hall, Archie Panjabi, Annalise Basso, Sam Otto, Roberto Urbina, Sheila Vand, Mike O’Malley, Chelsea Harris and Steven Ogg.

TNT and TBS have set winter premiere dates for three of their top series.

The third-season bow of TNT’s Snowpiercer is set for Monday, January 24. TNT’s late-nighter Full Frontal with Samantha Bee returns for Season 7 on Thursday, January 20, with Season 17 of its Seth McFarlane toon American Dad! set for Thursday, January 24.

Snowpiercer‘s second season ended with Layton (Daveed Diggs) and Ruth (Alison Wright), who were banished to Big Alice’s compost car, plotting to take back Snowpiercer. TNT’s postapocalyptic sci-fi drama Snowpiercer has extended its streak of early renewals with a Season 4 pickup.

All have come ahead of the premiere the previous season; Season 4 marks the earliest renewal, which is done as Season 3 wraps up filming. (I hear the pickup decision was quietly made last month but made official now.) Star Daveed Diggs made the renewal announcement on the set of the show at the tail end of production — you can see it below.

Produced by Tomorrow Studios, Snowpiercer Seasons 1 and 2 are available on the TNT app, with Season 3 set to premiere on TNT early next year. With Animal Kingdom and Claws coming to an end, Snowpiercer is the only remaining ongoing scripted series on the Turner network.

Snowpiercer premiered as the No 1 new scripted drama on all of ad-supported cable in 2020. The second season reached 21 million viewers across linear and digital in L+7 viewing, ranking as a Top 5 cable drama.

Snowpiercer Season 2 Episode 10

For the fifth time in the history of the show, the titular train of Snowpiercer finds itself under new ownership. Wilford built the thing, and then Melanie (Jennifer Connelly) stole it. She ran it successfully for 7 years, until it was taken over by Layton (Daveed Diggs). Layton’s tenure was not nearly as successful, because a returning Mr. Wilford (Sean Bean) hooked up to the tail end of Snowpiercer and took the thing back over, sending Layton and Ruth (Alison Wright) to the compost heap for their troubles. Nevertheless, where there’s a will, there’s a way, and the one thing you can say about Andre Layton is that he doesn’t give up very easily, and he is very willing to get his poop-covered hands even dirtier during violence. And much like last time, he has help up train, and more of it.

Snowpiercer fans can get an early look at the season two finale two days before its air date.

TNT will drop the first hour of the two-hour season 2 finale early on Saturday, March 27, ahead of the finale’s full airing on Monday, March 29 at p.m. Et/Pt. In this episode, Wilford (Sean Bean) presses forward on his endgame, as Layton (Daveed Diggs) sinks to new lows.

However, even with early access, viewers will have to wait until Monday, March 29 to catch the second half of the finale.

TNT's Snowpiercer Season 2 has been all sorts of crazy, creepy, and cryptic.

From Wilford's return to the unknown goings-on aboard Big Alice to the genuine possibility that the Earth is warming again, it's been a rollercoaster filled with reversals, sudden drops, and dangerous turns.

This was also a season disrupted in real life by the Covid-19 pandemic when a lockdown order shut down production with less than ten days left to shoot, as showrunner Graeme Manson informed us back in July 2020.

During the first season of TNT’s “Snowpiercer,” Jennifer Connelly spent her days of production crammed on-set with dozens of other performers, all representing the passengers of the titular train, then 1,000 cars long and hurtling around the globe to keep themselves alive amid a climate disaster. The second season, however, sees her much more isolated, as she has ventured out into the snowy tundra to investigate what is happening with the world and with the train, which has now been combined with another to become 1,034 cars long.

Keeping in mind that Ten Months elapsed between shooting the finale and the beginning of production for this season's premiere, Snowpiercer Season 2 Episode 1 does an over-the-top incredible job with creating continuity between the narratives, literally picking up where they left off.

The finale's three shockers -- Mr. Wilford, Alexandra Cavill, and Big Alice -- gave the premiere a pile of exposition to play with.

And yet, the tension never lets up. Pike's shenanigans might have lightened the mood at times, but I was constantly leaning in, anticipating the next reveal or twist.

Big Alice and everything (and everyone) she carries aboard opens up a whole new world of possibilities for this post-apocalyptic adventure. And Sean Bean is guaranteed to make things interesting.
