Born on 1981 in Tehran, currently based in London. Maysam is born to a family of filmmakers. He has a degree in Managment from Cass Business School. He has studied cinema for over 8 years and started working in movies from a very young age. He directed his first documentary titled "How Samira Made The Blackboards" in 2000.
Maysam has been active in the film industry as a professional for the past twenty years. He is an established Producer, DOP and film editor with the experience of working in various countries.
Some of his known films includes the feature "Buddha Collapsed Out Of Shame" nominated for the Best Asian Film Award from Hong Kong Film Festival and the winner of the Chrystal Bear from Berlin Film Festival,
"At Five In The Afternoon" winner of the Grand Jury Award from the competition section of Cannes Film Festival,
"Stray Dogs" winner of Unicef Award and the Silver Camera Award of Venice International Film Festival,
"The President" opening film of the official section of Venice Film Festival and the winner of Golden Hugo from Chicago International Film Festival.
Maysam's name regularly appears on feature films, shorts and documentaries as the Producer, Director of photography and editor. He also has experience in acting and sound designing a number of feature films.
As publication Maysam has a book of photography to his name. He is frequently invited as a speaker/lecturer to various film festivals, universities and industry event to teach about his skills as a DOP and editor as well as giving talks on production.
