    • Gisele MacKenzie was born on January 10, 1927 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. She was an actress, known for Les feux de l'amour (1973), L'homme à la Rolls (1963) and Your Hit Parade (1950). She was married to Robert F. Klein and Robert J. Shuttleworth. She died on September 5, 2003 in Burbank, California, USA.

  • Was a talented violinist, and frequently played duets with her lifelong friend Jack Benny on his show, to great comic effect.
  • In 1951, changed her last name, LaFleche, to her father's middle name, MacKenzie, lest her name sound "like a striptease artist's."
  • Her daughter, vocalist Gigi MacKenzie, included a duet with her mother "Stranger In Paradise" on her 2006 album "Skylark".
  • Was a Canadian of French-Scottish ancestry.
  • In 1955, at the height of her Your Hit Parade (1950) fame, had a top-40 hit record with "Hard to Get" (X Records, a division of RCA Victor), which attained the #5 position in June of that year, remaining on the charts for 16 weeks.
