Anne-Marie Mackay writer/producer/executive 2023 Anne-Marie Mackay has over a thirty-year track record as a producer and executive, launching the careers of highly sought-after directors as well as other key film talent in categories, including writers, cinematographers, editors, actors, production designers, art directors, location managers, wardrobe designers, makeup and hair artists, and every other type of crew member. During the 80s and 90s Anne-Marie presided over hundreds of well-known music video and music film projects many of which garnered awards. Now considered a veteran producer, she is best known as the founding member of several visionary production companies including Propaganda Films, Palomar Pictures, Riddle Studios and most recently Wondros. From these platforms she has launched the careers of notable directors David Fincher, Michael Bay, Antoine Fuqua, David Hogan, Dominic Senna, Gore Verbinski, Alex Proyas, Michel Gondry, Jean Baptiste Mondino, Sophia Coppola, John Dahl, Mark Romanek, Nigel Dick, Alek Keshisian, Jessie Dylan, Melodie Mc Daniels, and many others. At the same time, she is credited with diversifying the careers of David Lynch, Francis Ford Coppola, Sir John Schlesinger, Ben Stiller, Forest Whitaker, David O. Russell, Sir Michael Apted, Mark Pellington, Bret Leonard, Michael Caton Jones, and Lee Daniels, by providing both long and short form opportunities to established filmmakers. Her work in television includes Naked Cafe for VH1, High Octane with Sophia Coppola, Walter Mosley's feature film Always Outnumbered for HBO, William S. Burrough's The Junkies Christmas from her television series Francis Ford Coppola Presents, the Brian Wilson documentary I Just Wasn't Made For These Times, The Highwaymen starring Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson and Waylon Jennings, the documentary Why Was I Born about Little Jimmy Scott and the Showtime feature about the notorious Suge Knight American Dream, American Knightmare directed by Antoine Fuqua. Anne-Marie has been nominated for multiple Emmys and Grammys, including for her work as Executive Producer on Stranger Adventures, a revolutionary online game. In 2014 The Girl from Nagasaki which she also wrote, took pride of place at Cannes and the Sundance Frontier Festival. Following her film, The Last Word directed by Mark Pellington, and starring Shirley MacLaine and Amanda Seyfried Anne-Marie has developed a slate of projects under her own banner. Her last feature Foster Boy executive produced by Shaquille O'Neal, starring Matthew Modine and Lou Gossett Jr premiered and won at the Nashville Film Festival and The International Black Film Festival. It has already won 18 awards including the Human Rights Award and Carpe Diem Award as well as many others. She has also been hired to write several TV Bibles and pilot scripts destined for International Television as well as a seven-part fantasy novel based upon her own creation The World of The Magus. Now devoting herself to writing and producing - Her novels Letters from Paris, The Daemon Lover, Fitz, Invisible Girl, The Piper and Welcome to The Jungle (a mystery novel based on her ascent in the Music Video industry in the 80's recently optioned by Anonymous Content) as well as her autobiography An Ordinary Life are the first of many original projects as well as multiple film and television scripts destined for the screen. She has been hired to produce and to write the pilot episode of Pussy Riot - the true story of the Russian women who defied Putin and were jailed for performing their punk protest music across Moscow. She has TV Series attached at Appian Way, Anonymous Content and Josephson Entertainment. Her feature development slate includes Nothing but Hustle, Providence, The Agent, The Bodyguard, The Killer, and The Crook, Gone Dark, Letters from Paris, Larva and The Narrows. Anne-Marie is president of non-profit Blue Valor Films and gatekeeper to the many true stories of ex: military, government, and police officers it represents. She is also CCO at start up production company Reel Red Films.
