    • Bob Mackie was born on March 24, 1939 in Monterey Park, California, USA. He is a costume designer and actor, known for Rocketman (2019), The Carol Burnett Show (1967) and The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour (1971). He was previously married to Lulu Porter.

  • Father of son Robin Gordon Mackie (B. October 15, 1959) with Lulu Porter. Robin started using drugs at 15 and by the time he was in his early 20s had lost interest in almost everything, though he worked occasionally as a makeup artist. Robin died of complications from AIDS on March 15, 1993 in Los Angeles after a long battle with drugs.
  • Lifetime partner of Ray Aghayan until the latter's death in 2011.
  • Winner of seven Emmy Awards, he was often called "the sultan of sequins, the rajah of rhinestones."
  • Mackie was hired by Angie Jones, NBC Burbank Television's Wardrobe Supervisor, as a costume design illustrator in the early 1960s. On staff with the NBC costume shop, he illustrated costume designs for the costume designers working on the studio's Network productions. Ray Aghayan, designing The Dinah Shore Chevy Show (1956), used Mackie to illustrate his designs.
