The original Suits, which brought the world Meghan Markle, ran from 2011-2019 on USA Network. It did well for USA, but the show really exploded after heading to Netflix in a syndication (of sorts) deal.

The jury has deliberated, and the sentencing is now official — Suits LA will not return for a second season. With the final episode set for May 18, audiences can prepare to say goodbye to Ted Black (Stephen Amell) and the rest of the characters, as their stories will officially come to an end following the 10-episode debut season. Deadline broke the reveal which comes following the double early renewals of two of NBC’s other new kids on the block, Happy’s Place and St. Denis Medical, both of which had their fates unveiled earlier in the year. Today also saw the sentencing of Night Court and Lopez vs. Lopez, which were also cut from next year's lineup.

Suits LA’s journey from speculation to reality picked up thanks to the arrival of the flagship series on Netflix, where it enjoyed a tidal wave of viewership numbers not just once but multiple times.

Suits is one of the most popular legal dramas of all time. Following the success of the original series, two spin-offs followed, Pearson and Suits LA.

The latter premiered this year in February, bringing back several original Suits stars. It also featuredArrow's Stephen Amell in the leading role as Ted Black, a former federal prosecutor who decides to become an entertainment lawyer in Los Angeles. The series didn't open up to the best reviews and didn't live up to the original series, and NBC has just decided not to renew Suits LA ahead of its upcoming finale, per Deadline.

The new spin-off came with high expectations considering the franchise's popularity. The spin-off also had the original creator, Aaron Korsh, attached to the project, but it failed to recreate the same magic as the original. The show had positive viewership numbers during its premiere, but its ratings plummeted shortly after.

NBC is shutting the doors on Suits LA’s West Coast office: The Stephen Amell-led spinoff has been cancelled after just one season, TVLine has confirmed.

Season to date, Suits LA is averaging just 2.35 million total viewers (with delayed playback). Out of the 11 dramas that NBC has aired this TV season, it outdraws only fellow freshman Grosse Pointe Garden Society in total audience.

“Suits LA” has been canceled at NBC after just one season, Variety has learned.

The expansion of the “Suits” universe originally launched on NBC in February. The cast includes Stephen Amell, Lex Scott Davis, Josh McDermitt and Bryan Greenberg. A number of original “Suits” cast members have made appearances, including Gabriel Macht, Rick Hoffman, and David Costabile.

The show had a lot of buzz behind it going into the premiere, given that “Suits” had found an incredible new life on streaming on Netflix. But “Suits LA” failed to match that hype, with the show making only a small dent in the ratings and drawing mostly negative reviews upon its debut.

Given the high-profile IP involved, NBC had high expectations for the series from Suits creator Aaron Korsh. They never materialized: after an Ok premiere, viewership for the offshoot, which airs on Sunday, has remained low.

That is with NBC and Korsh pulling out all the stops and bringing back popular original cast members to play with the new cast.
