Image
Special Ops: Lioness, which hails from popular writer/director Taylor Sheridan, is likely headed back to Paramount+ for another explosive season. The star-studded action series dominated streaming for months at a time, but it's taken just as much time for fans to get a positive update on Season 3.

Per Deadline, Paramount+ is preparing to renew Special Ops: Lioness for a long-awaited Season 3. Zoe Saldaña has been signed on for three seasons, but the report claims that the hold-up was Nicole Kidman, who had to complete a new deal with the streamer after appearing in the first two installments. Now, Paramount is reportedly getting ready to shoot Lioness in its new 450,000-square-foot production facility in Fort Worth, Texas. The star-studded series will be joined by another Sheridan production in Texas, a Yellowstone spin-off starring Michelle Pfeiffer and Patrick J. Adams.

The second season of Lioness premiered on Paramount+ on October 27, 2024. The show follows Saldaña as Joe,...

Image
Die My Love, the latest feature from Scottish filmmaker Lynne Ramsay, was one of the hottest titles heading into this year’s Cannes Film Festival, and the film’s stock has only grown following a headline-grabbing $24 million acquisition by Mubi.

The film has been divisive on the ground in Cannes and is still a hot talking point up and down the Croisette. But did anyone who watched the film in the Lumiere on Friday actually understand it? Ramsay, a Cannes Film Festival vet, is skeptical.

Image
Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson took to the Cannes red carpet this evening for the world premiere of new film Die My Love, directed by Lynne Ramsay (You Were Never Really Here).

The Competition movie is based on the 2017 novel by Ariana Harwicz and also stars Lakeith Stanfield, Sissy Spacek and Nick Nolte.

Set in rural America, the film is a portrait of a married woman’s mental disintegration as post-natal depression consumes and obliterates her. Pattinson plays her husband, and Stanfield her lover.

In Deadline’s review, Damon Wise was impressed by Ramsay’s “mesmerizing film,” describing it as a “brutal but beautiful story.” As for many critics, Lawrence proved the star of the show. “America knows very well how good Jennifer Lawrence can be,” Wise wrote, “and this could well mean a fifth Oscar nomination if it lands in savvy hands.” But Ramsay also comes in for particular...

Black Label Media on Teaming with Jennifer Lawrence and Launching ‘Die, My Love’ at Cannes: ‘She’s in a League of Her Own’

In 2015, Molly Smith, Trent Luckinbill and Thad Luckinbill — founders of the film finance and production company Black Label Media — experienced the “deafening” roar of their first Cannes ovation as producers on “Sicario.” In the decade since, the company has evolved from a fledgling outfit to a major player, arriving on the Croisette with Lynne Ramsay’s hotly anticipated “Die, My Love,” starring Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson.

“We’ve just watched the business change so much, yet at the same time, it feels almost full circle,” Smith said. “Indie film and the way we were putting movies together in the beginning feels like it’s back in full force.”

Added Trent Luckinbill: “We started out being a filmmaker-driven company, and we got lucky in the beginning to work with great names like Denis Villeneuve and Jean-Marc Vallée. We haven’t changed that mission. We’ve stuck to our guns on...

Black Label Media Options Patrick Hoffman’s ‘The White Van’; Grant Singer To Direct
Image
Exclusive: Black Label Media has taken rights to Patrick Hoffman’s debut crime novel The White Van to develop as a feature for filmmaker Grant Singer.

Singer and author Hoffman will team to adapt the novel together.

The project reunites Singer with Black Label Media on the heels of Reptile, his chart-topping Netflix feature debut starring Benicio Del Toro, which the company also produced. That movie premiered at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival.

The White Van is a kinetic heist thriller following a troubled young woman who is lured into a criminal scheme that leaves her wanted for bank robbery and hunted by a corrupt cop who doesn’t want justice – but wants the money for himself. Evoking crime novelists like Dennis Lehane and gritty seventies films like Dog Day Afternoon, the line between good and evil blurs as criminals, cops, and hustlers collide in the unforgiving underbelly of San Francisco.

Young and the Restless: Phyllis & Sharon’s Kidnapper Shocker – Not Who You Expect! Who Took Them?
Image
Young and the Restless fans are talking about who is really behind Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and Sharon Newman (Sharon Case)’s kidnapping because it may not be who you assume it is. It may be a really big twist. There are some big red flags waving that somebody you wouldn’t expect is tormenting Red and Sharon, and this could be a really bizarre pivot in the storyline.

So, despite the horror movie feel to where the kidnapper has stuck them, you know, really Phyllis and Sharon haven’t suffered that much while in captivity. Now, that could be because the villain is trying to build up their fear and anxiety before they do something really bad to the ladies, or this lack of actual torment could be a sign that the kidnapper has no ill intent, which sounds bizarre, right? I mean, why would you kidnap somebody? And...

'Sicario' Starring Benicio Del Toro, Emily Blunt & Josh Brolin Is Streaming on Netflix from March 1
Image
Before Taylor Sheridan dominated the streaming landscape with his riveting television series such as Yellowstone, Landman, and various other projects, the writer would be best known for several of his enthralling screenplays taken on by talented filmmakers. Perhaps the best-known film from Sheridan's body of written work is Sicario, which Denis Villeneuve directed. Before the acclaimed filmmaker helmed the adaptation of Frank Herbert's novel Dune, it was 2015's Sicario that would further establish Villeneuve as a powerhouse director with an eye for powerful storytelling. Now, the film will have a new streaming home on Netflix this March.

Sicario will be hitting the streaming platform on March 1st, allowing Netflix subscribers to check out one of the earlier mainstream films in Villeneuve's career. Starring Emily Blunt, Benicio del Toro, Josh Brolin, and Daniel Kaluuya, Sicario explores the complex inner workings of the war on drugs and the morally ambiguous...

‘Y&r’ Spoilers: Who Kidnapped Sharon & Phyllis – Top 3 Persons Of Interest
Image
The Young and the Restless (Y&r) spoilers indicate that fans are reeling after the Tuesday, February 25 episode, which centered around Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) and Sharon Newman’s (Sharon Case) abduction.

The show revealed that the two have gone missing together, and someone is holding them captive in an old (and seemingly abandoned) psychiatric facility.

The place was uber creepy, with an odd (and annoying) alarm that went off multiple times during scenes. A bluesy song also played at one point, which frustrated Phyllis, but Sharon believed it to be a clue.

When the music stopped, Sharon asked for the rules of the game, and this was when a disguised voice came over the intercom.

They noted that the two women would have to work together, and the prize at the end was staying alive. It was also revealed that the captor has a camera in the room and is...

The Different Ways Young and the Restless Alum Thad Luckinbill Trained for Special Ops: Lioness
Image
Thad Luckinbill, formerly of The Young and the Restless, recently completed the second season of the Paramount+ drama Lioness, his first as a series regular. The Tyler Sheridan drama is a spy thriller about the CIA’s war on terror, focusing on an elite unit of female undercover operatives that Zoe Saldana’s character heads. Luckinbill plays Kyle McManus, a CIA operative who’s often out in the field. Needless to say, the show’s intense action means the actors need to be in tip-top shape. Thankfully, Luckinbill has no problem fulfilling this element of the series.

Extensive Training

The Lioness cast includes a few names you may have heard of. Nicole Kidman and Morgan Freeman star in the hit drama, in addition to Saldana, who plays Joe. Luckinbill’s character often crosses paths with Joe as they face terrorists, take on drug cartels, and rescue kidnapped politicians and/or...

Musical Chairs

Reed is the son of Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and J.T. (Thad Luckinbill). Tristan Lake Leabu has portrayed him since he was a teen. Taylor Sheridan's Role In Lioness Season 2 Explained
Image
Spoiler alert: The following article contains spoilers from Lioness season 2, episodes 1 and 2.

While Taylor Sheridan's contribution to Lioness cannot be understated, as he's the creator, executive producer, showrunner, writer, and director of the series, Sheridan's role somehow gets even greater in season 2. The spy thriller TV show is one of many that Sheridan has created for Paramount in the past eight years, following in the footsteps of Yellowstone, Mayor of Kingstown, and more. Like most of his series, Lioness has been a massive success for the filmmaker, which might be why Sheridan fully immersed himself in season 2's production.

The Paramount+ TV show's title changed from Special Ops: Lioness in season 1 to just Lioness in season 2.

The cast of Lioness includes Zoe Saldaa as Joe, Laysla De Oliveira as Cruz, Dave Annable as Neal, Nicole Kidman as Kaitlyn, Morgan Freeman as Mullins, Genesis Rodriguez as Josephina Carrillo, and many more.

However, Sheridan branched out from the neo-Western drama when Special Ops: Lioness debuted in July 2023, and it was a hit for Paramount+ (despite receiving mixed reviews from critics). As a result, the platform renewed it for a second season, which premieres in October 2024.

Paramount+ changed the show's title from Special Ops: Lioness to just Lioness in season 2.

The spy thriller series revolves around the CIA's Lioness program, which Special Ops: Lioness bases on a real military task force now defunct. The CIA recruits a female operative to infiltrate terrorist organizations or other groups that...

Young And The Restless Spoilers: Plot Twist – Is Chance Chancellor Behind Heather Stevens’ Demise?
Image
Young and the Restless (Y&r) spoilers remind fans to always expect the unexpected in the land of Genoa City. Right now, fans continue to reel over Heather Stevens’ (Vail Bloom) passing.

While Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) tried to cover up Heather’s death after an explosive confrontation, viewers can’t help but think she isn’t behind the murder.

After all, Sharon did blackout during the entire thing, which likely means there’s an unknown killer on the loose. Could the show completely swerve fans when it comes to the murderer?

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Soaps Love To Change Up Characters

Y&R spoilers remind fans that Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) is one of the good guys in Gc; however, there’s nothing the soap loves to do more than change up characters and their personalities.

Sharon could be a fine example of this. The once heroine is now embroiled in this storyline,...

Lioness Review: Season 2 of Zoe Saldaña Spy Thriller Is One of the Year’s Best Shows
Image
Paramount+’s Lioness may have shed its “Special Ops”: prefix for Season 2, but it made significant gains everywhere else.

Simply said, the Zoe Saldaña-led spy thriller’s sophomore run is fantastic, and stands as one of the year’s best TV shows. The only thing keeping it from an “A+” grade is that at times it gets so into the weeds of intelligence gathering and hair-trigger geopolitical issues, it can be a bit hard to follow. But if that is your jam (as it is mine), a rip-roaring thrill ride awaits.

Nicole Kidman Says She’s Acting in So Many Projects Because ‘I Can Create Jobs for People’ and Help Newcomers in Hollywood
Image
Is Nicole Kidman the hardest working person in Hollywood at the moment?

In the last year or so, Nicole Kidman has starred in “A Family Affair” and “Babygirl.” On the TV side, she starred in “Expats” and “The Perfect Couple” and returns to Taylor Sheridan’s “Lioness” for its second season, launching on Paramount+ on Oct. 27.

At the same time, she’ll be seen in Season 2 of the Hulu series “Nine Perfect Strangers,” the animated movie “Spellbound and the thriller “Holland, Michigan.” She also plays the title role in “Scarpetta,” Amazon’s upcoming series adaptation of Patricia Cornwell’s mystery books, opposite Jamie Lee Curtis and Ariana DeBose. She’s hoping to get a third season of “Big Little Lies” off the ground as well as a sequel to “Practical Magic.”

Even so, Kidman says she does actually find time to sleep. “I slept nine hours last night,” she told...

Lioness Season 2 Review — Saldaña Electrifies In Sheridan’s Explosive Modern Day Spy Thriller!
Image
The first season of Lioness had serious star power but fizzled out quickly. While Zoe Saldaña commands the screen, big names like Morgan Freeman and Nicole Kidman are heavily touted. However, the two Academy Award-winning actors barely had enough screen time compared to an alum from the game show Wipeout.

That said, I love Jillian Wagner, who is utterly convincing as a kick-ass Black Ops soldier, so that’s not the issue. This season is different. Saldaña simply electrifies in her role as a CIA officer in charge. However, now she has a cast with enough screen time to match her intensity.

Sparks fly alongside Kidman, Freeman, and The Penguin’s Michael Kelly. Series creator Taylor Sheridan crafts dialogue that cuts like verbal daggers across an expensive government conference room table. The stakes are higher, the tension is palpable, and Lioness is even better the second time around.

Zoe Saldana as Joe in Lioness,...

Is Heather Stevens (Vail Bloom) Leaving The Young And The Restless?
Image
Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers hint that fans continue to reel over the Thursday, September 26 episode. Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) had contemplated poisoning Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) and snuck into his condo to add a dire substance to his whiskey.

Of course, despite her mental health spiral, Sharon decided against the act of revenge and went to leave the apartment.

Just as she opened the door, Heather Stevens (Vail Bloom) was staring right back at her, entering her condo, and this triggered a confrontation, which got ugly fast. So much so, that Ms. Stevens ended up dying and being thrown into a river. Does This All Mean That Heath And Vail Bloom Have Exited The Y&r?

Y&r Spoilers: Many Fans Believe This Could Be A Dream/Hallucination

As of this writing, neither Bloom nor the Y&r have commented on the status of the actress on the soap.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Sharon’s Fatal Attack Against Heather A Bad Nightmare?
Image
The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) seemingly kills Heather Stevens (Vail Bloom) and dumps her body into a river.

But a series of delusional nightmares, evoked through Sharon’s unstable mental state, creates a natural question.

The fans are collectively wondering. Did Sharon kill Heather, or are they watching another nightmare?

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Heather Stevens Is Dead

If Sharon killed Heather, then she would be eventually caught. Alternatively, Sharon could guilt herself into confessing.

The challenge with this type of plot is that Sharon could not be imprisoned for life. Case is a main character. So, this outcome is only possible if she’s knowingly working her final storyline as a regular cast member.

However, if Sharon killed Heather, she could receive a light sentence because of her mental health issue. That would likely still require many months, if not at least a year,...
