Venom Star Tom Hardy Says Spider-man Crossover Got "As Close As I Could Possibly Imagine"
Image
The fans want it, the actors involved with both franchises want it, and studio higher-ups at Marvel and Sony have promised that it will happen some day. Even so, after six movies featuring the characters releasing under the Sony Pictures banner over the past few years, we have yet to see Venom and Spider-Man interact on the big screen.

Despite rumors that Tom Hardy and Tom Holland were set to show up in each other's franchises at various points, the closest we've come to any kind of crossover is Eddie Brock getting (briefly) zapped to MCU’s Earth-616 thanks to Doctor Strange’s botched spell in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

While speaking to The Playlist, Hardy confirmed that there were early plans in place for some kind of Spidey/Venom crossover movie, and it came very close to happening.

“We got close. We got as close as I could possibly imagine getting,...

Image
Venom: The Last Dance Ott Verdict (Week 1)( Photo Credit – Instagram )

Venom: The Last Dance left the theatres a few weeks back and was available on VOD on several digital platforms until it arrived on Netflix. Despite being the lowest-grossing film in the Venom trilogy, it is not an utter failure. The film is a box office success. It is now available to Netflix subscribers for free. They have shown their love to the lead actor, Tom Hardy, who does a commendable job as Eddie Brock/Venom. Scroll below for the deets.

Venom is part of Sony’s Spider-Man Universe and the only successful franchise in that universe. It was directed by Kelly Marcel and was one of the top ten highest-grossing films of 2024 until Sonic the Hedgehog 3 surpassed its global haul to take the 10th position. Besides Hardy, the Marvel movie also featured Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple, Rhys Ifans,...

‘Venom: The Last Dance’ Is Now On Netflix But Only In Select Countries
Image
Picture: Sony Pictures

Tom Hardy has inhabited the role of Eddie Brock and Venom for the past six years, and the final movie in the trilogy, Venom: The Last Dance, hit movie theatres in late 2024 and is now on Netflix in select countries including the US for a fixed time period. Here’s what you need to know.

Playing one of the most iconic Spider-Man villains, Hardy turned for the third stand-alone Venom movie with Kelly Marcel writing and directing. The final movie grossed close to $500 million at the box office and brought an end to the character, at least for the moment.

Eddie and Venom are on the run in this entry, and humans and other symbiotes are looking to hunt them down, including the powerful character Knull. Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple, Rhys Ifans, Stephen Graham, Peggy Lu, and Alanna Ubach round out the main cast for the third entry.

'Venom: The Last Dance' Will Land on Netflix Later This Month
Image
The final movie in the Tom Hardy-led Sony Spider-Man spin-off, Venom: The Last Dance, has now set its sights on Netflix. The streaming platform has now revealed that last year’s Venom outing, which finds Hardy’s Eddie Brock going on the run with his symbiote pal, will land later this month. Meaning audiences can finally watch this star-crossed bromance play out for the final time from the comfort of their own home.

Following the success of the first Venom back in 2018 and its sequel Venom: Let There Be Carnage in 2021, Venom: The Last Dancewraps up the Tom Hardy-fronted trilogy. Directed by Kelly Marcel, the comic book movie sequel stars Hardy alongside Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple, Rhys Ifans, Peggy Lu, Alanna Ubach and Stephen Graham, and finds Eddie and Venom on the run. Image
Venom: The Last Dance Ott Release Update ( Photo Credit – Instagram )

Venom: The Last Dance, starring Tom Hardy, has arrived on one of the most popular streaming platforms and is available for free to its subscribers. The Marvel movie came out last year and had a decent run at the box office. It is probably the only successful 2024 movie to be released in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe. Scroll below for more.

About the film

This is the third installment in the Venom franchise, and the film has collected the lowest financially as well. The superhero movie is the fifth film in Sony’s Spider-Man universe and the directorial debut of Kelly Marcel. She was associated with the previous two movies as well. It opened to mixed reviews with only 41% rating on Rotten Tomatoes’ Tomatometer. However, the audience was much kinder and gave the movie a strong 80% on Popcornmeter.

10 Highest Grossing Movies Of 2024
Image
While nothing can compare to the cultural phenomenon that was Barbenheimer in 2023, 2024 was a great year for movies, filled with blockbusters, sequels, and adaptations that ruled the box office. The highest-grossing movies of 2024 made their mark on the entertainment industry and audiences. However, the abundance of sequels and the lack of original movies marks a worrying trend for the future of movies.

The highest-grossing movies of 2024 not only dominated the domestic box office but also garnered a strong international audience and topped the international box office. The year was full of surprises, such as Joker: Folie à Deux, the highly anticipated sequel to the commercial hit Joker, becoming a box-office flop. However, excluding Joker: Folie à Deux, 2024 was a great year for sequels, as eight out of the ten highest grossing films that year are sequels.

Sonic The Hedgehog 3 Box Office (North America): Set To Beat Venom: The Last Dance ( Photo Credit – Instagram )

This week, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 emerged at #1 in the domestic box office chart. It crossed the $100 million mark a few days back and is now already after the domestic totals of Venom: The Last Dance and A Quiet Place: Day One. The weekend actuals came slightly lower but not enough to budge it from the top spot. Scroll below for the deets.

Venom: The Last Dance, like Sonic 3, is the third installment in Tom Hardy’s Venom franchise and the fifth film in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe. The film featured Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple, Rhys Ifans, Stephen Graham, Peggy Lu, and Alanna Ubach. Despite the mixed reviews, it became one of the highest-grossing films of the year. Venom 3 has collected $139.72 million at the US box office so far and $336.68 million overseas.

Venom: The Last Dance Ott Release Date: Tom Hardy-Led Threequel Arrives On This Digital Platform – Here’s Where & How To Watch It!
Image
Venom: The Last Dance Ott Release Date Revealed (Photo Credit – Instagram)

Venom: The Last Dance is on the last leg of its theatrical run and has also arrived on the digital platform. Tom Hardy’s 2024 Marvel movie has had a tepid run at the box office and has now been overshadowed by multiple movies. However, it did enjoy #1 at the US box office for a few weeks. It has now arrived in the comfort of your house, and to know the further details, scroll below.

About the movie-

Venom 3 is the third film in the Venom franchise, and it is led by Tom Hardy. It is seemingly the last film in the series, and Kelly Marcel sat in the director’s seat for this one after being one of the writers in the previous two movies. This was her directorial debut. Venom: The Last Dance Deleted Scene Confirms That Knull Is A Multiversal Threat Who Lives Between Universes
Image
Like Venom and Venom: Let There Be Carnage before it, Venom: The Last Dance didn't boast the strongest screenplay. That was evident when the Symbiote, on the run from the Xenophage, fully transformed for a dance number despite repeatedly saying that doing so would bring the near-unstoppable monster bearing down on him.

In the opening few minutes of the threequel, Eddie Brock is sent back to his reality following a brief trip to Earth-616; however, in an unexpected and still-unexplained retcon, he travels through a portal like the ones Knull uses rather than the glowing effect seen in Spider-Man: No Way Home's post-credits stinger.

In a newly revealed deleted scene from Venom: The Last Dance, we find Eddie travelling through the apparent void between realities. A shadowy creature, presumably a Xenophage, spots the Lethal Protector and his Codex, likely revealing how the King in Black learned of its existence.

Watch An Exclusive Venom: The Last Dance Featurette: "Bonded In Chaos: Tom Hardy"
Image
Venom: The Last Dance arrived on Digital platforms earlier this week and is now available to watch at home. Today, we're delighted to share an exclusive clip from the threequel's featurettes titled "Bonded In Chaos: Tom Hardy."

Exploring the duality of his roles as Eddie Brock and Venom, we hear from Clark Backo (Sadie), Peggy Lu (Mrs. Chen), Rhys Ifans (Martin), and Stephen Graham (Partick Mulligan) on the unique experience of sharing the screen with the actor.

There's also some great behind-the-scenes footage of the Area 51 battle and Eddie and Venom's ill-fated trip to Las Vegas.

It's unclear what the future holds in store for Hardy as Venom; the actor has said repeatedly that this movie was a farewell to the role, while it's been reported that the idea was to shift focus to Agent Venom next.

Those plans may have been scrapped following the reported conclusion of Sony's...

Venom: The Last Dance First 10 Minutes Officially Released; Features Knull And Spider-man: No Way Home Retcon
Image
With Sony's Spider-Man Universe reportedly at an end, Venom: The Last Dance may be the last movie featuring the Lethal Protector we get for quite some time...unless those Spider-Man 4 rumours prove to be correct, of course.

The threequel hit Digital platforms today and Fandango has just shared the first 10 minutes of the movie. In that, we get the opening prologue with Andy Serkis' Knull, the weird Spider-Man: No Way Home retcon that sees Eddie Brock return to his reality via a completely different type of portal, and a fun clash between the anti-hero and some local thugs.

By now, we're sure you're aware that Venom: The Last Dance set out to establish the King in Black as a major antagonist in a future movie. We don't know whether that's Spider-Man 4 or the presumably now-scrapped Agent Venom project (there's even been chatter about Knull being Sinister Six's...

Venom: The Last Dance's Digital Release Date Has Been Confirmed And It's Coming Sooner Than Expected
Image
There have been rumblings that Venom: The Last Dance might arrive on Digital platforms as soon as this week and Sony Pictures has now confirmed it will be available to watch at home starting tomorrow.

This comes after the threequel ended its theatrical run with $472 million, the franchise's lowest haul. It's unclear whether special features will be included in this release, though we recently got a leaked look at those.

Sony is one of the only studios to hang on for as long as possible when it comes to the gap between a theatrical and Digital release.

For the most part, it's an approach that's paid off, though Kraven the Hunter might premiere at home much quicker than Venom: The Last Dance if recent box office projections are any indication of what's in store for that movie.

Some new VFX stills from Venom: The Last Dance have also been released...

Venom 3 Finishes Theatrical Run As Lowest-Grossing Movie Of The Trilogy; Wicked Approaches $500M Worldwide
Image
Though Venom: The Last Dance performed a lot better than previous Ssu movies Madame Web and Morbius, it still ended up finishing its theatrical run as the lowest-grossing film of the Venom trilogy.

The Kelly Marcel-directed superhero flick took in just under $140 million domestically and another $333 million from overseas markets for a global total of around $472 million. With a reported budget of around $120 million, this is far from a bad result for Sony Pictures, but it doesn't come close to the $850 million the original Venom made in 2018, and also falls just short of Let There Be Carnage's $500 million.

This was Sony's final Venom movie (supposedly), but the studio is rumoured to have big plans for the villainous Knull and Agent Venom.

The Last Dance hits Digital platforms this week.

It's much better news for Universal's Wicked, which is now 2024’s fourth-biggest domestic release behind Inside Out 2...

Miles Morales Actor Names 1 Star of Sony's Spider-Man Universe He Really Wants in Beyond the Spider-Verse
Image
If Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse's leading man has his way, fans could see a notable live-action star from the Sony Spider-Man Universe appear in the highly anticipated animated threequel. Star Shameik Moore cites the face of Venom: The Last Dance as one of the first people he'd want to cameo in the latest Spider-Verse installment.

Speaking with Screen Rant, Moore, known for portraying Miles Morales in the Spider-Verse film series, named Venom franchise actor Tom Hardy as one Marvel actor he'd like to see in their live-action form during Beyond The Spider-Verse. Though The Last Dance was meant to be Hardy's Marvel bow, Moore hopes the English actor makes one more appearance as Eddie Brock in the final flick of the Spider-Verse trilogy. "Someone else in their physical live-action form? I like Tom [Hardy] as Venom," Moore said.

Venom: The Last Dance Deleted Scenes Reveal The Shocking, Disappointing Identity Of Pat Mulligan's Symbiote
Image
Like Venom and Venom: Let There Be Carnage before it, Venom: The Last Dance doesn't exactly have the strongest of scripts.

Plot holes aren't hard to find; for example, why after doing his best to avoid transforming would Venom then do so just for a dance with Mrs. Chen? (resulting in the Xenophage nearly killing them and his and Eddie Brock's eventual capture).

Still, fans were quick to pick up on the fact the threequel made a point of establishing that Detective Pat Mulligan's Symbiote had abandoned him after his run-in with Venom and Carnage in the previous movie. Seeing as the cop was bonded with another of the aliens before being killed, this surely means Toxin is still out there, right?

Perhaps not.

Venom: The Last Dance Spoiler Stills Reveal Closer Look At The Lethal Protector's Massive Final Form
Image
Whether you loved or hated Venom: The Last Dance (and Sony's Marvel movies are always divisive), it's hard to deny that the visuals were impressive.

Ilm has shared some shots of the work they did on the threequel, specifically highlighting the Symbiote's final form in the movie's closing moments. As you'll recall, the blockbuster concluded with Venom separating from Eddie Brock to wrap itself around the Xenophage, dragging it into an acid shower which destroyed them both.

Venom became giant-sized and, just to punctuate his demise, Rex Strickland blew himself and the two aliens up to ensure the rampaging Xenophage could no longer threaten Earth. Eddie and Venom's "Codex" was also destroyed, leaving Knull trapped on Klyntar...for now, at least.

However, it's widely believed Venom survived, likely through the piece of Symbiote retrieved by Imperium at the start of the movie. The Lethal Protector may have also transferred...

New Video Shows The Confusing Change Venom: The Last Dance Made To Spider-man: No Way Home's Mid-Credits Scene
Image
In Venom: Let There Be Carnage's post-credits scene, Eddie Brock was pulled to Earth-616 where his alien suit immediately took great interest in a news report about Spider-Man.

The events of Spider-Man: No Way Home revealed that Doctor Strange's botched spell - courtesy of Peter Parker's constant input - had started pulling everyone who knows the wall-crawler's secret identity into the Sacred Timeline. That explained Venom's unexpected arrival on Earth-616, though he never joined the final battle and instead chose to remain in Mexico.

That was confirmed by Spider-Man: No Way Home's stinger, with Eddie sent back home in the same manner as the Spider-Men and Sinister Six Five.

Venom: The Last Dance opens by recreating the 2021 movie's post-credits scene as the Lethal Protector learns about Iron Man and Thanos. However, when he returns home this time, the glowing effects from Spider-Man: No Way Home are replaced...

Venom 3 Villain Concept Art Reveals How Terrifying Knull Almost Was In The Marvel Movie
Image
Knull, the presumed arch-villain of Sony's Spider-Man Universe, could have been a lot more terrifying in Venom: The Last Dance if he looked a little more similar to the recently revealed concept art. Knull is the eldritch god of darkness and one of Marvel's most genuinely terrifying villains in both appearance and power. Unfortunately, he remained off-screen for most of the movie - though audiences were granted a slightly clearer look at Andy Serkis' villain in the post-credits scene for Venom: The Last Dance, which also teased his return in the future.

Concept artist Karl Lindberg recently unveiled original concept art for Knull on ArtStation (shared by TheVenomSite on X), proving that his face reveal at the end of Venom: The Last Dance could have been a lot more terrifying. The art introduces a lot more red to Knull's color scheme as he sits on a throne that evokes...

10 Movies From 2024 Where Critics & Audiences Completely Disagreed
Image
2024 has produced a few movies which critics and audiences can't seem to agree on, and their Rotten Tomatoes scores highlight the way they have split opinion. Rotten Tomatoes gives two scores to a movie. The "Tomatometer" score measures critical opinions based on published reviews, while the newly-revamped "Popcornmeter" score offers a way for audiences to log their own opinions. It's often the case that these two scores are very close to one another, but a few movies break the system.

More often that not, if there's a big difference between a Tomatomer score and a Popcornmeter score, it's because a movie is a simple crowdpleaser that critics don't care for. Critics are more focused on the craft of a movie and the ideas behind it. Many people also think like this, of course, but the majority of the public rate a movie based on how entertaining it is. Venom: The Last Dance Concept Art Reveals An Even More Terrifying Take On Andy Serkis' Knull
Image
Venom: The Last Dance featured the live-action debut of the King in Black and God of the Symbiotes, Knull. Played by Andy Serkis, the big bad sent his Xenophage to Earth in a bid to retrieve Eddie Brock and Venom's Codex so he could be freed from his prison on Klyntar.

It didn't work out for the villain but the movie ended with a mid-credits scene driving home what a threat Knull could still be to the universe should he escape.

Now, Karl Lindberg has shared his designs for Knull, explaining, "Worked directly with Writer/Director Kelly Marcel to design this creepy villain. Love how he came out in the movie."

We'd argue that this version is far more terrifying than the one briefly glimpsed in Venom: The Last Dance and you'll notice that Lindberg found a way to incorporate that iconic logo on Knull's chest (we're still not...

Netflix Reveals First Look at Tom Hardy in Action Thriller From The Raid Director

More than three years after production initially wrapped on the action movie, Netflix is finally ready to show the world Gareth Evans' Havoc. Two first look images from the hotly-anticipated movie have been released, both showing a grizzled Tom Hardy that means business.

Empire released the first image as part of its "2025 Preview First Look" series, showing Hardy's character Walker restraining a man in what looks to be a bar or nightclub. Netflix debuted the second image on X, which simply features Hardy's Walker pointing a gun directly at the camera. A brief synopsis for Havoc was also shared by the streamer and reads as follows: "After a drug deal gone wrong, a detective fights his way through a criminal underworld to rescue a politician's son unraveling a web of corruption and conspiracy ensnaring his entire city." Venom: The Last Dance crosses major box office milestone
Image
Although Venom: The Last Dance opened somewhat lower at the box office than expected, the sequel has managed to stay on top for the last three weeks and recently crossed a major milestone. The film has sped past the $400 million mark with a $405.5 million worldwide take. That works out to $118.5 million domestically and $287 million internationally, with all three films generating a total of $1.7 billion.

The first Venom grossed $856.1 million during its theatrical run, while Venom: Let There Be Carnage grossed $506.8 million. At this rate, Venom: The Last Dance could overtake Let There Be Carnage but won’t come close to the first movie.

Venom: The Last Dance Passes $400 Million Worldwide As The Movie Continues To Exceed Box Office Expectations
Image
When Venom: The Last Dance opened in North America far below initial expectations - with a disappointing $51 million - it looked like Sony Pictures might have another box office flop on its hands.

Morbius and Madame Web were both subjects of ridicule and lost a lot of good faith for a studio that's not exactly known for making quality comic book movies when Marvel Studios isn't involved.

However, since opening in theaters last month, Venom: The Last Dance has continued to exceed expectations. In fact, it's now crossed $400 million at the worldwide box office. As things stand, it will end up making more than Venom: Let There Be Carnage's $503 million, a terrific result considering it only cost $120 million to produce.

In fact, with a reported total production cost of $340 million across the Venom trilogy, this series will end up having made upwards of $1.8 billion in box office revenue for Sony Pictures.

Venom: The Last Dance Closes In On $400M Worldwide As Red One Makes Disappointing Overseas Debut
Image
Venom: The Last Dance may not have made as big a splash at the box office as the previous movies in the franchise, but the final part of Sony Pictures' trilogy is proving difficult to knock off the top spot.

The Last Dance took in $16.2 million from 3,905 North American theaters, which was enough to fend off competition from A24’s horror thriller Heretic and Lionsgate’s family friendly The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.

The studio's latest Ssu movie - which sits at 41% on Rotten Tomatoes - has now grossed $279.4 million overseas and $394.2 million globally on a relatively modest budget of $120 million.

This might well be the last Venom movie, but a recent rumor claimed that Sony is developing an Agent Venom film.

In the comics, Agent Venom was Peter Parker's former bully turned friend Eugene "Flash" Thompson, who bonded with the Venom Symbiote after losing his legs in service of his country.

Crossing important milestones for films is important as it lifts up the spirits of the people involved with them. Now, Venom: The Last Dance has crossed its first major milestone in the domestic market. The film is slightly slower in North America compared to its run in the international markets. Scroll below for the latest box office deets of Venom 3.

It is the sequel to the 2021 movie Let There Be Carnage and the third film in the Venom trilogy. The first film, released in 2018, was a commercial success and the highest-grossing film in the franchise. The threequel is lagging behind its predecessors in debut weekend numbers. However, it is doing better than Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker: Folie a Deux. The movie has only earned $204.75 million at the worldwide box office.

Venom: The Last Dance Expected To Remain At #1 For Third Weekend After Busting A Move On Box Office Rivals
Image
Love or hate Sony Pictures' Lethal Protector, Venom: The Last Dance will remain at #1 for a third weekend in a row heading into Veterans Day.

According to Deadline, the Marvel movie starring Tom Hardy is expected to earn $14 million this weekend after grossing an estimated $3.6 million on Friday. Of note is the fact this is the first time a Venom movie has remained in the top spot for three weekends.

While it's true The Last Dance is the only big movie in theaters (and that the threequel opened well behind Venom and Venom: Let There Be Carnage), it will be closing in on $113 million by Sunday and has been a much bigger hit overseas.

A $500 million global haul by the end of its run is likely, putting it in the same ballpark as 2021's Venom: Let There Be Carnage. That's a result the studio will be happy with considering the...

Venom: The Last Dance - One Of The Movie's Weirdest, Wackiest Scenes Has Been Officially Released
Image
Venom: The Last Dance is a fun movie, but there's one moment which has left pretty much everyone scratching their heads.

The threequel establishes that Eddie Brock and Venom must not fully transform because doing so will activate their Codex and bring Knull's Xenophage immediately to their location. It's a major plot point.

Despite that, when the Lethal Protector is reunited with Mrs. Chen in Last Vegas, Venom fully transforms for an extended dance sequence which brings the Xenophage to their location, risks her life, and leads to them being captured by Imperium.

Now, an extended clip featuring this bizarre Venom: The Last Dance moment has been officially released. Whether you're seeing this for the first time or experiencing it all over again, it paints this character in a whole new light.

Then again, a movie with a title like this surely needed a literal dance scene, right?

"I worked with the choreographer,...

Venom: The Last Dance To Battle Heretic For #1 This Weekend As Early Moana 2 Projections Splash Down
Image
Venom: The Last Dance is about to enter its third weekend in theaters but will it remain at #1? Deadline believes the threequel is eyeing a $12 million haul, though A24's Hugh Grant-led Heretic could pose a problem for the Lethal Protector.

While the studio is projecting an $8 million opening weekend, exhibitors believe it could make as much, if not more, than the latest Venom movie.

As we reported yesterday, Election Day was a good Tuesday for Venom: The Last Dance as it made an impressive $3.3 million, a 56% rise from Monday. With a running cume of $95.3 million, the movie will cross $100 million tomorrow.

In other box office news, the expectation is that Moana 2 will exceed expectations when it opens over Thanksgiving weekend. As AMC CEO Adam Aron puts it, "Some people in the know are telling me that Moana 2 could eclipse and outshine even the success of Inside Out 2.

Venom: The Last Dance Receives Surprise Election Day Box Office Boost And Breaks A Franchise Record
Image
As we first told you earlier today, those looking to escape the U.S. Election drama flocked to theaters yesterday evening to take advantage of discounted ticket prices.

That was very good news for Sony Pictures' Venom: The Last Dance as the threequel grossed an impressive $3.4 million during its second Tuesday. That's a record-breaking 26.8% decline; Venom dropped by -54.6% ($3.7 million) and Venom: Let There Be Carnage by -61% ($2.5 million).

With a $95.3 million haul in North America, Venom: The Last Dance is eyeing a domestic box office run of $150 million. While it's likely to end its run with less than its predecessors, the movie - made for a modest $120 million - should turn a tidy profit.

With rumours swirling about an Agent Venom movie (you can learn more about the character here), Sony is bound to find a way to continue this franchise...with or without Tom Hardy.

The actor said...

The Biggest Winner On Election Night Could End Up Being Venom: The Last Dance
Image
As we write this, Donald Trump has declared victory and will be the next President of the United States. You've probably noticed that the news cycle has been a little slow this week with all eyes on the election, but Venom: The Last Dance might be the biggest winner when all is said and done.

According to Variety, theaters yesterday received a higher turnout than normal (and Tuesdays are already busy thanks to discounted tickets). While we don't yet have specific numbers, the Venom threequel is expected to receive a significant financial boost.

After all, how better to tune out the real world than to switch your brain off with Tom Hardy's latest wacky adventure as the Lethal Protector?

Venom: The Last Dance grossed $2.1 million on Monday and has reached $92 million in North America. The threequel also continues to exceed expectations in China where its total has reached $73.5 million; in the coming weeks,...

Marvel Rumor Reveals Agent Venom is Next Installment For Sony Franchise
Image
Venom: The Last Dance is currently making waves at the box office, but a fourth film in the movie franchise has not been confirmed yet. As of right now, the film is living up to its title, serving as the final appearance for Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock aka Venom. However, it seems that Sony is not done with the anti-hear just yet, as a new Marvel rumor suggests that Agent Venom is the next film in the franchise.

According to Daniel Richtman, Sony is developing an Agent Venom film in the wake of the final installment of the Venom trilogy starring Tom Hardy. Of course, this is only a rumor and should be stressed as such. However, considering the studio is always looking to make more Spider-Man-related films, continuing to cash in on their most successful Marvel franchise makes a lot of sense. Agent Venom would be a natural continuation of the storyline too,...

Is an Agent Venom Movie in the Works? The Rumors, Explained

Quick Links Who Is Agent Venom in Marvel Comics? Is Sony Developing an Agent Venom Movie? How the Ssu Can Introduce Agent Venom

Venom: The Last Dance marks the end of an era for the Sony Spider-Man Universe (Ssu), bringing about the end of Eddie Brock's journey as the Lethal Protector. The film follows Eddie and Venom as they embark on one final adventure together after their bizarre and disappointingly short vacation in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as seen in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Pursued by a secret government organization and the symbiote god Knull, Eddie and Venom are forced to finally part ways after a tearful goodbye.

Although the Venom symbiote appeared to die at the end of The Last Dance, a post-credit scene hinted that the alien could have survived his acid bath in the film's climax. The scene in question shows a cockroach scurrying past the screen,...

Venom: The Last Dance Concept Art Showcases The Final Battle, Venomized Animals, And The Xenophage
Image
Sony Pictures has never released "Art of the Film" books for the Venom movies, a shame when we're sure there are heaps of awesome designs we've yet to see for both the title character and the likes of Carnage and She-Venom.

On the plus side, a couple of the artists who worked on Venom: The Last Dance have shared their work on ArtStation. Valentin Petrov posted a badass shot of the Lethal Protector riding a motorcycle through Area 51 as the Xenophage chased him down.

This was undoubtedly one of the Venom franchise's best action sequences and a fun callback to Eddie Brock's love of his bike in both the first movie and Venom: Let There Be Carnage.

Karl Lindberg, meanwhile, has shared a bunch of his designs, including Venom Horse, Venom Frog, and the monstrous Xenophage. There's plenty more to be found on his profile, so we'd suggest checking that out here.

Agent Venom Movie Rumored To Be In Development At Sony Pictures
Image
Sony Pictures made it clear that Venom: The Last Dance would be the final part of a trilogy, and while the movie did appear to wrap-up Eddie Brock and his Symbiote pal's story, we may now know how the studio is planning to keep the franchise going.

According to scooper Daniel Richtman, an Agent Venom movie is in development.

In the comics, Agent Venom was Peter Parker's former bully turned friend Eugene "Flash" Thompson, who bonded with the Venom Symbiote after losing his legs in service of his country. Tony Revolori currently plays Flash in the Spider-Man movies, but The Last Dance may have given us some idea of how Sony intends to introduce a whole new take on the character.

If you haven't seen Venom: The Last Dance yet, be warned of major spoilers from this point on.

As Venom sacrifices himself to prevent Knull from invading the planet,...

Venom: The Last Dance Exceeds Expectations During Second Weekend As It Passes $300 Million Worldwide
Image
Venom: The Last Dance surprised box office experts last weekend by underperforming with a disappointing $51 million opening weekend.

The threequel had a better time of it overseas but was projected to plummet during its second weekend in North America with only $19 million. Instead, it's overperformed thanks to a solid $26.1 million; to put that number into context, this is a drop of only -48.8%, a result Sony Pictures must be overjoyed with.

Last week, Venom: The Last Dance was being compared to movies like The Marvels and The Flash, but those dipped by -78.1% and -72.5%, respectively, during their second weekends in theaters.

It's even beaten 2018's Venom (-64.7%) and 2021's Venom: Let There Be Carnage (-56.4%). Now, this movie has reached $90 million and is eying a North American run of $140 million - $150 million.

News overseas is even more positive as Venom: The Last Dance has crossed $200 million at the international...

Venom: The Last Dance Tops Box Office for Second Week Against Tom Hanks' Here
Image
Venom: The Last Dance easily laid claim to the No. 1 spot at the domestic box office for the second weekend in a row, while Here barely managed to crack the Top 5. Eddie Brocks (Tom Hardy) final go-round as the Spider-Man anti-hero in Sonys symbiote trilogy dropped 49% between its first and second weekends of release, but the film managed to make an estimated $26.1 million (per The Numbers). Meanwhile, the unofficial Forrest Gump reunion, Here, that reteamed director Robert Zemeckis with stars Tom Hanks and Robin Wright, fell flat on its single-framed face at No. 5 with only $5 million.

Here carried a fairly heavy production budget of $45 million into the weekend, but the Hanks and Wright-led drama barely made back any of its production cost and that doesnt include how much TriStar Pictures spent on marketing and advertising. Meanwhile, Venom: The Last Dance didnt have any problem ascending to No. 1 again because...

Juno Temple has been nominated for four Emmy Awards in a row for her work on Ted Lasso and Fargo, but there was one role she wanted, but didnt land. While speaking with Interview Magazine, Temple, who is currently starring as Dr. Teddy Paine in Venom: The Last Dance, lost out on the starring role in a Tim Burton movie.

Temple revealed she was rejected for the role of Alice in the 2010 Tim Burton / Disney movie Alice in Wonderland, a part that went to Mia Wasikowska, who played Alice in both that film and its 2016 sequel Alice Through the Looking Glass.

The first Alice in Wonderland, made over $1 billion at the worldwide box office and starred Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, and Anne Hathaway.

‘Venom: The Last Dance’ Surpasses $70 Million in China, Outpacing ‘Deadpool & Wolverine,’ Reports Asian Media
Image
Regarding Venom: The Last Dance, we’ve previously discussed the challenges the film has faced since its release. Critics were harsh, while fans were more receptive. Although it has exceeded its initial budget, the domestic earnings remain low, leaving the film dependent on international markets for recovery.

According to Box Office Mojo, the film has grossed a total of $193,989,701, with $70,597,430 from the U.S. and $123,392,271 from international markets. While the numbers for this weekend are still pending, reports suggest that the film is performing well in Asia!

An Indian entertainment site, Koimoi, has reported that Venom: The Last Dance has crossed the $70 million mark at the Chinese box office, making it one of the top-performing comic book films in China. However, we advise taking this news with a grain of caution!

According to confirmed data from Box Office Mojo, Venom: The Last Dance earned $21,900,000 at the Chinese box office during...

Asian Media Report that ‘Venom: The Last Dance’ Has Just Crossed $70 Million in China, Surpassing ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ in the Country
Image
As for Venom: The Last Dance, we have written several times how the movie has been having a difficult run since its premiere. The critics panned it, the fans praised it, and while it has surpassed its initial budget, the domestic total is still very low and the film is relying on the international markets to save it.

As per Box Office Mojo, as of the time of writing, the movie has earned $193,989,701 in total, earning $70,597,430 in the US and $123,392,271 worldwide. Of course, the numbers for this weekend are still not in, although it seems that the movie is doing well in Asia, based on some reports!

Based on a report by Koimoi, an Indian-based entertainment portal, Venom: The Last Dance surpassed the 70$ million mark at the Chinese box, making it one of the most successful comic book movies in China. And while we are bringing you the story, there...

Venom: The Last Dance Eyes $19 Million Second Weekend As Global Total Passes Two Marvel Flops In Just One Week
Image
Venom: The Last Dance has entered its second weekend in theaters and, with a -63% drop, the threequel is currently eyeing $19 million in North America after a so-so $5 million Friday.

Still, it's not a disastrous result by any means because this brings its domestic total to $82.9 million (the movie did better than expected this past week both on Tuesday and Halloween).

In terms of competition, Venom: The Last Dance won't have much to contend with as Robert Zemeckis' Here is set to earn only $5 million for second place. While fans appear to have enjoyed Sony's latest Marvel movie more than critics, word of mouth hasn't been positive enough to help the Lethal Protector exceed expectations.

We're still waiting on updated global numbers but, as of Friday, it was sitting at $184 million worldwide. It has a lot of work to do before reaching Venom ($856 million) and Venom: Let There Be Carnage...

Netflix Action Thriller With Tom Hardy & The Raid Director Gets Release Update
Image
You may not even be aware that Oscar nominee and Venom star Tom Hardy has already filmed an action thriller for Netflix directed by the filmmaker behind the martial arts masterpiece The Raid. If you were not aware, allow me to say that again: Tom Hardy is leading an action thriller from the director of The Raid. Titled Havoc, Hardy reportedly finished filming more than three years ago, but we still do not know when it will debut on the streaming platform.

Thankfully, we may at least now have some idea. Director Gareth Evans, who has also helmed Merantau, The Raid 2, and Apostle, took to Instagram a few months ago to reveal that Havoc will (hopefully) hit Netflix in the first quarter of 2025. See what Evans had to say about the production of the action movie below.

Andy Serkiss Secretive Venom: The Last Dance Role, Explained
Image
Spoiler Alert: Spoilers follow for Venom: The Last DanceOne week into its release, its clear that Venom: The Last Dance isnt quite the massive hit that Sony was hoping for. While the first Venom was a surprise blockbuster despite middling reviews (it hit nearly $1 billion worldwide), and the second was almost as successful, the final chapter has had the lowest opening weekend gross of the entire trilogy. It couldnt have come at a worse time for Sony, coupled with the dire reception to Morbius and Madame Web. Not to mention that 2024 has already proven one of the most dire years for the comic book genre in recent memory.

Yet Venom: The Last Dance at long last seems to suggest that an endgame is in sight for Sonys shared universe. The film prominently features a brand-new antagonist whos clearly being built up as a Thanos-level threat, playing a significant background role...

Venom: The Last Dance TV Spot Officially Reveals The Movie's Symbiotes
Image
Sony Pictures has released a new TV spot for Venom: The Last Dance, and it gives us a first official look at the team of Symbiotes that assembles towards the end of the movie to battle the Xenophage.

Though some of these Symbiotes are named - Juno Temple's Doctor Payne becomes Agony, for example - others seem to be amalgamations of characters from the comics, or possibly brand-new creations. One does definitely seem to be based on Toxin, however, and the final two appear to be versions of Phage and Lasher.

Check out the new teaser below.

The review embargo for The Last Dance lifted last week, and the critical consensus was not overly positive. Though some are referring to this final instalment in the franchise as the best of the trilogy, the movie held at 37% on Rotten Tomatoes for a while before rising to 39% based on 158 reviews.
