    • Lotte Loebinger was born on October 10, 1905 in Kattowitz, Upper Silesia, Germany [now Katowice, Slaskie, Poland]. She was an actress, known for Cœur de pierre (1950), Bortsy (1936) and Straßenbekanntschaft (1948). She was married to Herbert Wehner. She died on February 9, 1999 in Berlin, Germany.

  • German-Jewish actress, on stage from 1925. A committed communist, she left Germany during the Nazi era. She later made wartime propaganda broadcasts for Radio Moscow. After 1945, Loebinger settled in East Berlin, appearing in proletarian roles in films for Defa and on stage at the Deutschen Theater, the Maxim-Gorki-Theater and the Kleine Theater unter den Linden.
  • When Hitler rose in Germany the ardent communist Lotte Loebinger had to leave her country and emigrated to Moscow. There she worked for the radio and took part in the movie "Borzi - Kämpfer" (1936).
  • In the 50's she worked for the Maxim-Gorki-Theater for most of the time.
  • Lotte Loebinger was married with the politician Herbert Wehner.
  • The actress Lotte Loebinger began her stage career at the Breslauer theater. It followed engagements at the Renaissance-Theater and at the Berliner Volksbühne, and especially her cooperation with Erwin Piscator was a fruitful time.
