His ex-wife blames him for failing to pick their son up after school. He blames his uncle (Stephen Lang) who runs the construction supply business that employs Caleb as hired muscle for collections and contract ”compliance” among his clientele. ‘Gen V’ Star Reveals 'The Boys' Major Impact on Season 2
Image
The cool, soothing tone of Hamish Linklater has been disarming audiences since he first came onto the scene more than two decades ago. That’s why he was the perfect man to don the top hat and beard of President Abraham Lincoln for Apple TV+’s Manhunt and why he was the right choice to portray a priest attempting to shepherd his followers towards the truth in Mike Flanagan’s Netflix series, Midnight Mass. Once again stepping into the spotlight and allowing his mild-mannered tone to lull us into a false sense of security, the actor is set to join the cast of Gen V for its second season, which arrives next month. Linklater will be taking on the role of Dean Cipher, the new leader at Godolkin University — a place for young superheroes to grow their powers. But, as the trailers have told us, there’s nothing safe about...

Gen V Season 2: What Are Marie’s New Abilities?
Image
Prime Video‘s Gen V Season 2 is set to premiere on September 17, 2025, and all eyes are on Marie Moreau (Jaz Sinclair). Her power appears to be evolving into something far more dangerous. Based on the season 2 trailer, Marie’s new abilities could be telekinetic-like, blood manipulation, and non-contact offensive force. She may now manipulate blood within others as well.

The trailer shows Marie levitating objects and throwing people, hinting at a possible telekinetic upgrade. These scenes suggest she can now manipulate blood pressure similar to The Boys‘ Victoria Neuman, the head-popping supe. In the Season 1 finale, she halted a fatal injury to Cate and neutralized armed guards without touching them.

It can also be speculated that Marie may have adapted powers related to Andre Anderson. His telekinetic abilities resemble what Marie is now showing.

Why Marie Accepts Starlight's Mission In Gen V Season 2 Explained By Boys Spinoff Star
Image
Gen V star Jaz Sinclair has shed some light on Marie Moreau's upcoming partnership with Starlight in season 2. Though The Boys and Gen V can technically be watched independently, there's no denying that Gen V's story has greatly impacted the franchise's flagship show.

The supe-killing virus introduced in Gen V season 1 was a focal point in The Boys season 4, and now, Gen V season 2 looks primed to act as a bridge between The Boys seasons 4 and 5. The trailers for Gen V season 2 have promised appearances by The Deep (Chace Crawford), Black Noir (Nathan Mitchell), Firecracker (Valorie Curry), and, most importantly, Starlight (Erin Moriarty).

As the shows unravel the link between Vought and Godolkin University, Starlight asks Marie to help her uncover and stop an ongoing research program: Project Odessa. Project Odessa's aim is currently unknown, but it was created by God U's founder, Thomas Godolkin (Ethan Slater). So,...

'Gen V' Season 2 Will Feature a Big Time Jump
Image
The last time Gen V fans were at Godolkin University, things took a turn for the worse for some students. Marie Moreau (Jaz Sinclair) and her friends were imprisoned while Cate (Maddie Phillips) and Sam (Asa Germann) were elevated. A small crossover in The Boys Season 4 confirmed that Cate and Sam were the new Guardians of Godolkin, but what happened to Marie and her gang? Gen V's showrunner, Michele Fazekas, told TV Insider that when the show returns for Season 2, viewers will be immersed in the next chapter of the story. "There’s a time jump,” she revealed at Sdcc to the outlet. She teased what's on the horizon for the characters, saying,

“And everyone starts in a completely different place, and they’re not all together… They’re in a place that we have been told in Season 1 [is] the last place you should want to go, which is called Elmira…...

Gen V Season 2 Trailer Brings The Boys Spin-Off Back To God U — And Into Homelander’s America
Image
Packing an abundance of surreal sex scenes, prosthetic penises, and Tarantino shamingly bloody violence, Gen V made itself right at home in Amazon's r-rated The Boys universe when it landed on Prime Video back in 2023. Now, almost two years later — and with Billy Butcher and co's final The Boys outing growing ever nearer — Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters' carnage-filled, college-set spin-off is about to enter its sophomore year as Season 2 promises to take us back to a very different Godolkin University than the one we left behind. Check out the new trailer for the latest series below and you'll see what we mean;

Hamish Linklater as creepy new Dean Cipher. Supes being trained as soldiers. Annie January (Erin Moriarty) on the run. God U students getting collared and tased. Welcome to Homelander's America, folks. Yes, after that massively consequential The Boys Season 4 finale, it looks like the ramifications of Homelander...

'Gen V' Showrunner Explains How 'The Boys' Spin-Off Will Honor the Late Chance Perdomo in Season 2
Image
The second season of Prime Video's Gen V is almost here, and as well as delivering big on the gross-out superhero action, the series also has some incredibly big boots to fill; those of the late actor Chance Perdomo. But the series isn't filling the proverbial boots. Instead, following the actor's untimely passing in 2024, showrunner Michele Fazekas revealed that his part won't be recast in the second season. Instead, Gen V has elected to write Perdomo's death into the series. As The Boys fans build up to the release of Gen V Season 2 on September 17, many are wondering exactly how the show will honor the memory of Perdomo.

Michele Fazekas spoke to Entertainment Weekly at San Diego Comic-Con, and the Gen V showrunner addressed how Season 2 incorporated Perdomo's unexpected death. "[That was] probably the No. 1 thing we wanted to do," Fazekas said of honoring the late actor. "Just watching the show...

Shocking cameos, new characters, emotional tributes: 5 biggest takeaways from ‘Gen V’ Season 2 panel at Comic-Con
Image
The second season of Gen V is all about leveling up.

Fans of The Boys universe packed Ballroom 20 on Friday as Prime Video hosted the first-ever San Diego Comic-Con panel for Gen V. Showrunner Michele Fazekas and cast members Jaz Sinclair (Marie Moreau), Maddie Phillips (Cate Dunlap), London Thor (female Jordan Li), Derek Luh (male Jordan Li), and Hamish Linklater (Dean Cipher) answered questions from moderator and franchise star P.J. Byrne, who stayed in character the entire time as his narcissistic director, Adam Bourke.

Here are the five biggest takeaways we learned about Gen V Season 2 at Comic-Con.

The Boys Cameos

The official trailer for the second season of the spin-off series was screened for the crowd, with Dean Cipher's ominous quote, "You can all level up under the right amount of pressure," being of key interest for fans. The two-minute video also teased three shocking The Boys cameos from...

‘Gen V’ Showrunner On Paying Tribute To Chance Perdomo With Season 2: “No. 1 Thing We Wanted To Do”
Image
Gen V showrunner Michele Fazekas opened up about how the second season of the college-set superhero series would honor late cast member Chance Perdomo.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly at San Diego Comic-Con, the producer explained how paying tribute to Perdomo and his character Andre Anderson was top of mind going into the sophomore installment of The Boys spinoff.

“[That was] probably the No. 1 thing we wanted to do,” Fazekas said of commemorating the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina alum. “Just watching the show and watching even just the trailer for it … we did it so long ago and I remember being in the writer’s room and talking about how important it was to honor him. And then when you watch the show, he exists throughout the entire season. It was, in many ways, about Andre and about Chance. And, yeah, I’m very proud of that actually.”

Perdomo died as a result...

Gen V: Erin Moriarty Returns As Starlight In Bloody Season 2 Sdcc Trailer
Image
A new trailer for the second season of Gen V debuted during San Diego Comic-Con this evening, and has now been released online.

The teaser begins with Jaz Sinclair as blood-manipulating Marie Moreau, tangling with ferocious Supe Dogknott, who gets the better of her until a familiar face comes to the rescue. Erin Moriarty is set to reprise her role as Starlight, and she won't be the only character from The Boys to make an appearance during season 2.

In addition, Wicked star Ethan Slater is joining the cast as Thomas Godolkin, the founder of the school.

In the season 1 finale, Marie and some of her classmates were rounded up by Homelander and his forces, and we saw the same thing happen to Hughie, Frenchie, Mm and Kimiko in the season 4 finale of The Boys. It seems interned Supes are going to form some kind of resistance to fight back against...

‘Gen V’ Season 2 Trailer Debuts At Comic-Con, Teasing Plenty Of ‘The Boys’ Cameos & Reveals Ethan Slater As Thomas Godolkin As Young Supes Return To School In Homelander’s America
Image
Gen V is packing a punch with its second season, which was teased to attendees at the series’ Friday Comic-Con panel via the debut of the first full trailer.

Let’s just say, there’s a lot to unpack. Jaz Sinclair’s Marie begrudgingly agrees to return to Godolkin University — but only after Annie January (Erin Moriarty) tracks her down to insist upon it. That cameo reveal was met with loud cheers in the room, and little did the crowd know what was to come.

As we know, things are a bit different now that Homelander has taken over America and, naturally, the ripple effects have extended to the college campus, where Hamish Linklater’s Dean Cipher is doing things…a little differently. Per the Season 2 description, he’s got his sights set on a curriculum that promises to make students more powerful than ever. But, in Homelander’s America,...

‘Gen V’ Season 2 Trailer Promises Uncovered Secrets, Lots of Blood

The first season of Gen V never shied away from gore — as one would expect from a spinoff of The Boys — and it looks like the second one won’t either.

Prime VIdeo unveiled a trailer for the forthcoming season of Gen V Friday at Comic-Con, and it skimps on neither the over-the-top moments that are a hallmark of the Boys-verse nor the intrigue at Godolkin University, where the show’s supes-in-training attend college.

The trailer debuted as part of a Comic-Con session that featured castmembers Jaz Sinclair, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh and Hamish Linklater and showrunner Michele Fazekas. Gen V Season 2 Trailer Reveals A Major Boys Character Recruiting Marie To Stop A Deadly New Weapon
Image
The official Gen V season 2 trailer has debuted, and it reveals a major character from The Boys recruiting Marie Moreau (Jaz Sinclair). Gen V season 1 ended with Marie and her friends captured by Vought, although the season 2 teaser trailer previously showed that Marie, Emma Meyer (Lizze Broadway), and Jordan Li (London Thor and Derek Luh) are back at Godolkin University.

Due to the real-life tragedy of Chance Perdomo's death, his character, Andre Anderson, Gen V season 2 was rewritten with Andre having passed away between seasons. His father, Polarity (Sean Patrick Thomas), is determined to learn the truth about what happened to his son.

At Gen V season 2's San Diego Comic-Con panel, where ScreenRant was in attendance, Prime Video debuted the official trailer, which shows The Boys' Annie January/Starlight (Erin Moriarty) recruiting Marie. After saving Marie from another supe, Annie explains that she needs Marie to return to...

Gen V Season 2 Trailer Reveals Ethan Slater’s Casting, Starlight’s Mission for Marie and a Chance Perdomo Tribute
Image
A familiar face is welcoming Gen V back to Prime Video for its long-awaited second season, premiering on Wednesday, Sept. 17 with the first three episodes.

As just revealed at San Diego Comic-Con, the trailer for Season 2 kicks off with Starlight (The Boys’ Erin Moriarty) turning to Marie Moreau (Jaz Sinclair) for help. Vought is resuming a mysterious — and presumably dangerous — research program known as “Project Odessa,” and she needs Marie to stop it. ‘Gen V’ Season 2 Trailer Shows Starlight Coming to Save the Day | Video
Image
Just as Marie (Jaz Sinclair) is in the middle of a tussle with another Supe, here comes “The Boys” hero Starlight/Annie January blasting her light beam to save the day in the official trailer for “Gen V” Season 2.

“Hey, Marie,” Starlight says in the trailer with a smile to a bloodied Marie after taking out an enemy. The trailer debuted on Friday at San Diego Comic-Con.

While characters from “The Boys” have already made their crossover onto the Godolkin University campus, this is the first time “Gen V” viewers have seen Starlight. Last season of “Gen V” left off with Marie and her squad Jordan, Andre and Emma in a doorless, hospital-like facility with no idea how they got there.

But based off the trailer, it appears Marie has escaped somehow and has been on the run ever since. Now, Starlight needs her to head back to God U...

‘Gen V’ Cast on the ‘Importance’ of Paying Tribute to the Late Chance Perdomo With Season 2: ‘He Is There the Whole Way’
Image
San Diego Comic-Con is a time for celebrating fandom — a time of frenzied excitement that much of the cast of Prime Video’s “Gen V” are experiencing for the first time.

“You guys are gonna have the best day of your life,” Hamish Linklater told his “Gen V” co-stars Jaz Sinclair, Maddie Phillips, London Thor and Derek Luh during their interview at the Comic Con Variety Studio presented by Google TV before their big panel at the San Diego Convention Center on Friday night.

But the moment is also a bit bittersweet for the cast of the bloody college-set spinoff of the superhero series “The Boys,” as Season 2 pays tribute to the late Chance Perdomo, who was a central player on the show. Perdomo died in a motorcycle accident in March 2024, just before Season 2 started production. So, the show’s creative team revised the plot to honor the 27-year-old actor and his superhero character,...

7 Movies of Rachel Brosnahan That You Must Watch After Watching Her in James Gunn’s Superman
Image
Rachel Brosnahan, the actress who is widely renowned for her breakthrough role as Miriam “Midge” Maisel in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, has earned a one-way ticket into one of the up-and-coming Dcu, through James Gunn’s upcoming Superman. And since then, talks about her pretty much refuse to die down.

The forthcoming flick will see her embodying the character of the fan-beloved Lois Lane: A world-famous investigative journalist at Daily Planet, who works alongside (and ends up being the love interest of) Clark Kent, aka the Kryptonian superhero Kal-El (played by David Corenswet in the new movie).

Judging from the reviews that the trailer and the early screenings have received so far, Brosnahan has ostensibly left no stone unturned in giving one of the finest performances of her lifetime as Lane. But while that one’s to look forward to, you might want to see more of her after watching her in Superman.

Barron’s Cove Review: A Dark Revenge Movie With A Unique Twist
Image
Plot: After his son is tragically killed, a grieving father with a history of violence kidnaps the child responsible, igniting a frenzied manhunt fueled by a powerful politician, the father of the kidnapped boy.

Review: It’s really hard to make a movie that rests in a morally grey area. People want their heroes to root for and their villains to root against. But that’s not how life tends to be, so I’ve always been a fan of films that aren’t afraid of the darker side of life. Those are where some of the greatest cinematic achievements come from. And Barron’s Cove does the unthinkable, putting the crosshairs on a mere child.

I never really thought I’d be on the side of someone kidnapping a child, but Barron’s Cove does a good job of putting you on the side of grieving father, Caleb. After losing his son to mysterious circumstances,...

Why Barron's Cove's Dark Ending Is Secretly A Happy One Explained By Garrett Hedlund & Stephen Lang
Image
This article contains spoilers for Barron's Cove.

Garrett Hedlund and Stephen Lang explain the true meaning behind Barron's Cove's ending. The film stars Hedlund as a father named Caleb who goes through the unthinkable — the death of his beloved son. In addition to Hedlund and Lang, Barron's Cove features a leading cast including Hamish Linklater, Brittany Snow, and Sweet Tooth's Christian Convery.

In an interview with ScreenRant, Hedlund and Lang speak about the Barron's Cove ending. Hedlund confirms that the final hit against Caleb in the movie was "from his uncle," played by Lang. Lang had an interesting take on these events, however, as he noted that the movie ends up with Caleb smiling for the first time that he has all movie.

Stephen Lang Addresses Chances of 'Don't Breathe 3': "I Hope We Do It"
Image
Stephen Lang might be eager to reprise his role as The Blind Man for Don't Breathe 3 so that he can "kill off the old buzzard," but don't look for the sequel to hit theaters any time soon. Speaking with Screen Rant about his new thriller, Barron's Cove, Lang revealed that while there's been movement on the third entry in the series, things are still a long way off from getting started.

"There was some backward progress on it for a while, but I think it's possible things will move forward," Land said, adding that he thinks "there's a concept." Lang first took on the role of The Blind Man (a.k.a. Norman Nordstrom) in director Fede Álvarez's 2016 horror hit that he co-wrote with Rodo Sayagues, which went on to gross more than $157 million at the box office against a budget of just under $10 million. Praised by critics for...

Notes from a Feature Directorial Debut: Evan Ari Kelman Dives Deep Into the Making of ‘Barron’s Cove’
Image
Becoming a feature director in today’s media environment takes work. It takes grit and suffering and determination, but more than anything else, it takes work. Sometimes years of it, sometimes months, and sometimes days that feel like months.

So why do it?

As writer/director Evan Ari Kelman explained to IndieWire’s Future of Filmmaking, love will make you put in more effort than you think you’re capable of. His feature debut “Barron’s Cove,” which releases in select theaters and on VOD Friday, June 6, reflects this sentiment, unraveling a tragic tale of fathers and sons and the thin line between vengeance and redemption. It’s not your standard indie, as it features multiple locations, an A-list cast — Garrett Hedlund, Brittany Snow, Stephen Lang, Raúl Castillo, Tramell Tillman, and Hamish Linklater — weapons, explosions, and a child at the center of its mystery.

Kelman’s filmmaking journey started almost exactly...

‘Gen V’ Season 2 Brilliantly Sets Up ‘The Boys’ Final Season After a Key Detail That You Probably Missed
Image
After its splendid run with season one, Gen V is all set to return to the screens with its second season, and the buzz around the same couldn’t be louder. For one, this upcoming installment was expected to have more prominence with characters from The Boys than what went down in season one, and it seems like that just may be coming true.

This was made clear from the recently released official teaser trailer for this upcoming season. The same appears to have ostensibly brilliantly set up what is expected to be the fifth and final season of the parent series through one second-long key detail about the Homelander in the show that many might have probably missed in the trailer.

A Big Bold Beautiful Journey | First trailer lands
Image
A Big Bold Beautiful Journey, starring Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell, has been a mysterious project. Until now. Here’s the trailer.

Originally due in May, we’re now patiently waiting until September to see what Kogonada, the director of After Yang, has cooked up along with the rather formidable leading duo of Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell. The script for this mysterious project has been penned by Seth Reiss, the writer of 2022’s The Menu, itself a delicious 2022 satirical drama.

For ages, we only had this rather vague logline that promises a focus ‘on two strangers and the unlikely way that their paths align.’ Intriguing? Yes. Vague? Very much so.

All that has now changed though with the release of the film’s first trailer which promises a journey into the each character’s memories, seemingly powered by some kind of benevolent and all-powerful sat nav.

With that in mind,...
