  • From 1949 onwards, Lier appeared in a number of films, mostly playing smaller roles.
  • From 1950 to 1952 he played in Berlin at the Theater am Kurfürstendamm, and in 1951/52 also at the Tribüne in Berlin.
  • In 1953 he moved to the Bavarian State Theater, where he was again a member from 1959 to 1961. He worked primarily at the Munich Kammerspiele, where he remained until 1983.
  • He first attracted attention as Sergeant Jaletzki in the first part "Das Tagebuch des Jürgen Wilms" of the early multi-part series "Am grünen Strand der Spree" (1960). In the following years, he mostly played small-time crooks, fraudsters or other shady and devious characters, and soon became the ideal cast in popular crime series.
  • Lier worked extensively for radio, especially in the 1950s and 1960s.
  • Wolfried Lier was a German actor. He made his debut in 1938 at the Neisse City Theatre (Nysa, Poland).

  • Shortly before his death, he took on the role of Wilhelm in the television series Immenhof, but only appeared in the pilot episode. Werner Dissel took over the role for the subsequent episodes.
  • From 1939 to 1943 he was a member of the ensemble of the Landestheater Gotha-Sondershausen, after which he participated in the war.
