Micha Liberman
- Music Department
- Actor
- Composer
Micha always jokes that he and digital audio arrived in Hollywood on the same flight. As the industry was shifting from analog to digital, Micha, a classically trained musician with a computer science mind, showed up at exactly the right moment. He quickly carved out a niche as one of the first people who could truly speak both languages: art and tech. That rare combination would define his Emmy-winning career in film and television.
For over two decades, Micha has shaped the sound of some of the most beloved shows on TV, including Only Murders in the Building, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Deadwood, Virgin River, Rectify, and Looking for Alaska. His work as a music editor has earned him four Emmy nominations, multiple Golden Reel Awards, and the trust of directors, show runners, and composers across the industry.
Micha studied audio engineering at Houston Community College and music theory & composition at Binghamton University, where he also began composing for film and theater. After moving to Los Angeles, he blended his technical and creative strengths into a music career that has spanned genres, formats, and studios.
But Micha isn't just a behind-the-scenes wizard - he's also a composer, business owner, and thought leader. As the founder of Mind Meld Arts, he built one of the most respected music editorial companies in Hollywood, known for its high standards, calm under pressure, and commitment to storytelling through sound. He's written original scores for films, voiced a recurring villain on Cartoon Network, developed music tracking software used throughout the industry, and co-authored a key report for Project Bar-B-Q, an influential audio think tank.
When he's not in the studio, Micha speaks to companies and creative professionals about what it means to succeed in high-pressure environments. His stories from Hollywood - equal parts funny, insightful, and practical - inspire others to blend creativity with precision and find their own version of success. He also hosts The Sounds of Hollywood, a podcast where he introduces the people behind the scenes - the editors, mixers, and composers - who shape the way Hollywood sounds.
