Marvel Just Confirmed Where the Forgotten Hero Iron Fist Will Pop Up Next, & It's Canon
Image
It's been a long wait for Eyes of Wakanda. The show was first announced back in 2021, and it was supposed to come out in 2024. Obviously, that time has come and gone now. But the show is now finally almost here - and it'll even feature a character no one has seen in the MCU in a long time.

Eyes of Wakanda showrunner Todd Harris recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly and ran down all the major points of the show. One big piece of news for MCU fans is that the show will feature an Iron Fist - probably not Danny Rand, as the show is set in the past, but an Iron Fist all the same. And it'll be canon, as Eyes of Wakanda is set in the Sacred Timeline of the MCU. So it serves as a true animated prequel to Black Panther - and even a prequel of sorts to Iron Fist,...

Image

The first images from Eyes of Wakandahave been released, giving audiences a different look at the nation that has been the home of several Black Panthers for generations. The series will follow the warriors known as the Hatut Haraze. The mission of these mysterious characters will be to retrieve Vibranium items across history, preventing catastrophes by keeping the hazardous material in the hands of Wakanda. Their duty will spawn over the course of decades. While the world rejoices in the potential Vibranium presents for everyone, the Hatut Haraze will keep the legacy of their home alive.

The images from Eyes of Wakanda introduce Noni (Winnie Harlow) and The Lion (Cress Williams). The exact role these characters will play in the narrative of the show will be revealed later this summer, when the highly-anticipated project makes its way to Disney+.

C.S. Lewis Never Wrote One of the First Scenes Shown in Narnia That Jump Started the $1.5 Billion Trilogy
Image
When you think Narnia, it’s all about magical wardrobes, epic battles, and talking animals stealing the spotlight. But here’s the kicker: one of the very first scenes in the $1.5 billion trilogy, C.S. Lewis didn’t even write it. Yes, the filmmakers went rogue and cooked up their own opening moment, and honestly, it slapped.

Hardcore fans might’ve side-eyed the move, but it straight-up worked, pulling everyone into the world of Narnia right away. Sometimes, a little creative risk is all it takes to launch an iconic fantasy franchise.

When Narnia went Boom: The $1.5B scene C.S. Lewis never wrote A still from the The Chronicles of Narnia | Credits: Walt Disney Pictures

When The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe hit theaters in 2005, it opened with a bang, literally.

In 2024, DC Dropped The Most Brutal Scene In 60 Years Of Live-Action Batman & Nobody Even Died
Image
Warning! This post contains Spoilers for The Penguin episode 82024’s The Penguin included one of the most brutal scenes in a DC Comics adaptation – all without a single death. Spinning off from Matt Reeves’s 2022 film The Batman, The Penguin centers on Oswald Cobb as he murders and manipulates his way to the top of Gotham City’s criminal element before the events of the upcoming The Batman – Part II. The series is gritty, psychological, and violent – all to be expected in a series focusing on a Batman villain – yet one of its most brutal moments comes entirely from a harsh interrogation scene with no deaths.

Oswald “Oz” Cobb is introduced as a realistic new interpretation of The Penguin in 2022’s The Batman, though he retains core characteristics of his comic counterpart. With Cobb and his characterization placed front-and-center in The Penguin, his complexities (and similarities to his comic counterpart) are further expanded upon,...

This Is Narnia Character Saoirse Ronan Should Play In The Reboot
Image
The demand for one of Greta Gerwig's most famous collaborators to appear in her iteration of The Chronicles of Narnia is understandable, but the debate about whom this actress should play may be overly complicated. Following her smash hit Barbie, the Oscar-nominated director signed on to write and direct the first two movies of Netflix's Chronicles of Narnia reboot. Much speculation has been dedicated to how Gerwig will put her own spin on Narnia, including which of her previous collaborators may star in the first movie, which Jason Isaacs teased may be The Magician's Nephew.

Timothée Chalamet is seemingly the perfect Mr. Tumnus; harder to place is four-time Oscar-nominated Saoirse Ronan, the star of Gerwig's Lady Bird and Little Women. Ronan is too old to play Susan Pevensie, although she would have been perfect for this Narnian heroine as a teenager. However, when several of Saoirse Ronan's best movies are directed by Gerwig,...

Is Mike Tyson The Most Overrated Boxer Ever?
Image
Is Mike Tyson overrated? (Photo Credit – Instagram)

Remember that Saturday when we watched the whole thing unfold? When Roy Jones Jr. stepped into the ring against Mike Tyson? Hall of Fame stuff. First, let’s talk about Jones Jr. He fought 50 times between 1989 and 2014, and like, Never came close to losing. Sure, there was one “oops” moment—a disqualification for hitting an opponent when they were down—but honestly? His opponent was already wrecked, so it was a technicality at best. Jones was a freak of nature.

Jones made history by winning titles in four weight classes: middleweight, super middleweight, light heavyweight, and heavyweight. Only one other guy, Bob Fitzsimmons, did that in 1in3.

Tyson’s reign was all about speed and power. But here’s the thing—he had no backup plan. He folded if he couldn’t land a flurry of punches in the first few rounds. Exhibit...

Ted Lassos Brett Goldstein Confirms Popular Fan Theory About What Inspired the Apple TV+ Comedy
Image
Ted Lasso, one of the most beloved TV shows in modern times, was indeed inspired by a movie classic, confirming a popular fans theory that has recently flooded the internet. Brett Goldstein, one of the stars and a prominent writer on the show, has confirmed that the show is heavily inspired by The Wizard of Oz, the Hollywood classic of 1939. As Wicked, the musical by Jon M. Chu, inspired by the play of the same name that stemmed from the original classic, keeps people singing in theaters, Goldstein reveals that his Apple TV+ comedy has loads of The Wizard of Oz in it. This matches a popular fan theory on the internet about the connection between the sitcom and the classic by Victor Fleming.

In the show, Ted Lasso is an American football coach who gets hired to coach a soccer team in England. Lasso knows nothing about soccer, but...

20 Years Later, One Bruce Willis And Julia Roberts Scene Remains Profoundly Controversial Among Film Fans
Image
Breaking the fourth wall in film is both a radical concept and one that's readily familiar to audiences, even if they don't know the phrase "breaking the fourth wall." Acknowledging the audience in some form or fashion has happened in everything from Disney animation (as when Scar objects passionately to hearing the song "It's a Small World" at one point in "The Lion King") to '80s-era teen comedies to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But every so often, audiences are thrown for a true loop when the fourth wall, that demarcation point between the big screen and those watching what's displayed there, is demolished so swiftly and inexplicably that there's nothing left but the rubble. 20 years ago, one such moment happened in a mainstream, big-budget sequel that was established to take place in some facsimile of the real world without automatically occupying space in our real world. The film is 2004's excellent "Ocean's Twelve,...

Mike Tyson Should Never Box Again, Says Dave Allen As He Can Easily Beat Him?
Image
Dave Allen believes Mike Tyson shouldn’t box anymore ( Photo Credit – Instagram )

The drama started after Tyson posted some intense pad work videos, sparking speculation about a potential comeback. Fans were excited, but Allen? Not so much. He thinks it’s all a bit of a pipe dream. He called it as he saw it: “For that reason alone, he should never box again.”

Now, let’s not forget Tyson’s heyday. He was a bona fide wrecking ball. But Allen’s got a different take now. Sure, Tyson reigned supreme, but that was a lifetime ago. Having taken some savage losses—Lennox Lewis, Danny Williams, and Kevin McBride—Tyson’s career isn’t exactly the stuff of legends anymore.

Allen doesn’t mince words. “Mike Tyson’s one of the greatest fighters of all time,” he asserted, “but you can’t turn back the clock.” True, though—Tyson’s glory days are gone now.

Denzel Washington Bluntly Responds to Tyson & Paul Fight
Image
Denzel Washington has been having a fun and intelligent press tour for Gladiator II. He's among the wisest and most accomplished actors of the film's mostly young cast, so it makes sense that the soon-to-be 70-year-old star has been front and center with many of the bigger interviews for the film. Along the way, Washington has lamented the hopeless political system, gave a harsh appraisal to a period when he made a lot of bad movies (or "clunkers" as he called them), and has now even weighed in on the recent fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul. Streamed on Netflix, the fight disappointed many people, and the glitches and buffering of Netflix downright pissed them off.

Buffering/freezing and sound issues occasionally compromised the live streaming event, which was held at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, in front of an audience of 72,300. (The match was originally supposed to take place in July, but an ulcer flare up forced Tyson’s doctors to intervene.)

Mike Tyson is one of the most formidable boxers of all time and one of the most complex public figures in the sport. At 58, the former heavyweight champion hosts a podcast, owns a cannabis business, and appears in films and TV shows and at boxing events.

Jake Paul-Mike Tyson Fight Live Blog: Folie à Deux

Ladies and gentlemen: Are you ready to rumble?!

Well, too bad — we’re rumbling anyway. Nearly one year to the day after being announced — and following one false start in July due to stomach ulcers — Jake Paul and Mike Tyson faced off in the ring Friday night for one of the most mega-hyped events in sports history.

This unlikely showdown between Paul, a 27-year-old former YouTube star, and Tyson, a 58-year-old former undisputed heavyweight with his own, Gen X-beloved video game, is virtually impossible to ignore — and marks a giant leap forward in terms of Netflix’s live-streaming ambitions.

If promoters Most Valuable Promotions are to be believed, the fight will be the most-watched in history. Netflix has not announced any viewership expectations. Paul himself predicted that 25 million would tune in.

Before a single punch had been thrown, it had already been one of the most debated, reviled and mocked fights ever mounted.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-man And Eyes Of Wakanda Casts Revealed Along With Spectacular New Stills
Image
Marvel Animation has shared new details and stills for two of its most highly anticipated TV shows, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man and Eyes of Wakanda.

The former, according to the official plot synopsis, "is an animated series that follows Peter Parker on his way to becoming a hero, with a journey unlike we've ever seen and a style that celebrates the character’s early comic book roots."

We also have a confirmed cast list: Hudson Thames, Colman Domingo, Eugene Byrd, Grace Song, Zeno Robinson, Hugh Dancy, and Charlie Cox. No character details are provided, though we've heard that Thames is Spider-Man, Domingo is Norman Osborn and, well, Cox is obviously returning as Daredevil.

As for Dancy, rumour has it the Hannibal star is playing Doctor Octopus. That's a fantastic casting decision and one we're sure many of you would like to see carry over into live-action.

More has been revealed about Eyes of Wakanda,...

Klitschko: More Than a Fight Review – A Bare-Knuckle Glimpse Behind Closed Doors
Image
As the war in Ukraine rages on, two figures have stood out as symbols of the country’s resistance: President Volodymyr Zelensky and Vitali Klitschko, the mayor of Kyiv. Where many see them as united allies, director Kevin McDonald’s new documentary “Klitschko” reveals a more complicated dynamic between the two politicians. Through exclusive footage, we see Klitschko make surprising accusations against Zelensky behind closed doors.

The film offers a rare glimpse inside Kyiv’s city hall, capturing Klitschko as he juggles emergency response duties with back-channel criticism of the president. In meetings with western officials, Klitschko portrays Zelensky’s government as drifting towards authoritarianism and endangering Ukraine’s democracy. He claims local leaders face increasing pressure and argues the country risks emulating Russia if reforms aren’t adopted.

These insights come amidst the pair’s already-documented personal rivalry. As a former comedian, Zelensky famously parodied Klitschko on TV before entering politics himself.

R.I.P. Ken Page, the voice of Oogie Boogie in The Nightmare Before Christmas

Ken Page was best known as a stage actor, with Deadline referring to him as one of Broadway’s most familiar character actors, but he did earn several film credits over the decades as well, appearing in films like Torch Song Trilogy, The Kid Who Loved Christmas, I’ll Do Anything, and Dreamgirls, as well as TV shows like Gimme a Break!, Family Matters, Touched by an Angel, and more. Page also did a good amount of voice acting work – with his most popular credit coming when he provided the voice of Oogie Boogie in the Henry Selick / Tim Burton stop-motion classic The Nightmare Before Christmas. Page would go on to voice Oogie Boogie again for the Kingdom Hearts video games, the video game The Nightmare Before Christmas: Oogie’s Revenge, and the ride walk-through short Haunted Mansion Holiday. Mike Tyson Net Worth Comparison During His Peak Years in 1990 to 2024
Image
The world of sports and entertainment is full of money, luxury, comfort, and extravagance, but not everyone manages to salvage and retain it. A classic example of this would be Mike Tyson. The heavyweight boxing champion, during his rise in the 1980s, went on to become one of the richest athletes in the world.

Especially during his peak years in the 1990s, the boxing legend was earning massive purses from his fights, sponsorships, and endorsements, catapulting his net worth to staggering levels. However, his financial journey has not been as rosy as his life, for it received a heavy blow when he filed for bankruptcy in 2003.

Mike Tyson | Credit: Law & Order / NBC

Even though the legend underwent some serious career and life-damaging challenges, being the fighter that he is, Tyson bounced back. Currently worth $10 million compared to his once $400 million empire, it is startling nonetheless the career and financial trajectory Iron Mike has had.

Greta Gerwig's Chronicles Of Narnia Movies Can Finally Fix A Big Pevensie Complaint
Image
Greta Gerwig's The Chronicles of Narnia can improve upon an issue with the Pevensie children in the later books. Netflix's upcoming adaptations have Gerwig directing and writing two Narnia films so far, but all the installments in C.S. Lewis' beloved fantasy series may ultimately be adapted if the first two prove to be a success. Prior to Netflix acquiring the rights, Disney adapted The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe, Prince Caspian, and The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.

The four Pevensie childrenPeter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucyare at the heart of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe as they discover the magical land of Narnia, help save it, and become the realm's kings and queens. All four Pevensies return to Narnia in Prince Caspian, while only Edmund and Lucy return in The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, along with their cousin, Eustace Scrubb. The Pevensies are...

There's 1 Problem With Starting Greta Gerwig's Narnia Reboot Where C.S. Lewis Intended
Image
Starting with The Magician's Nephew would honor Lewis' wishes, but may disappoint fans wanting The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe first. Gerwig's decision on where to start the Narnia series will heavily impact its success and viewership levels. The safer bet for Netflix may be to begin with The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe to attract a wider audience.

A faithful screen adaptation of C.S. Lewis' Chronicles of Narnia would follow the author's intended order, but this might not be the right choice for Greta Gerwig's upcoming films. The legendary children's fantasy author published seven books within his Narnia series, but he later admitted that the release order wasn't how he would prefer them to be read. Despite this, Disney's movie adaptations of Lewis' works started with The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, and while this isn't how many want Gerwig to proceed, anything different could present a problem.

Knock Out Blonde: The Kellie Maloney Story review – trans boxing promoter fights for identity
Lennox Lewis
After steering Lennox Lewis to world heavyweight success, her transition to Kellie was a tabloid sensation. This intimate and moving documentary tells us much more

This is one of those documentaries that feels like it directs itself, so improbable is its story: The Peckham-born Catholic and heavyweight boxing promoter formerly known as Frank Maloney finally acknowledges the gender confusion that has dogged her life and, in her early 60s, transitions to becoming Kellie. In particular, the scenes where Maloney builds up to telling each of her three children that she is a woman play out in strange parallel to the succession of bouts we previously see her client Lennox Lewis undergo chasing the world title. There are similar undertones of destiny too. “This journey is not one that you choose, this journey chooses you,” Maloney says just before her crucial reassignment surgery.

Where Knock Out Blonde is not so sharp...

This Greta Gerwig Movie Is Proof Her Chronicles Of Narnia Movie Can Work
Image
Greta Gerwig is set to reboot The Chronicles of Narnia for Netflix, bringing a modern appeal to the classic novels. Gerwig's success with Little Women proves she can balance faithful retelling with modern storytelling. The cozy cottage aesthetic of Narnia will be faithfully captured by Gerwig, embracing the world of C.S. Lewis.

Greta Gerwig may not seem like the obvious choice for The Chronicles of Narnia franchise, but one movie is proof that she's exactly what the fantasy saga needs. The $1 billion success of Barbie solidified Gerwig as one of Hollywood's most prominent filmmakers, achieving the rare combination of commercial phenomenon and award juggernaut. Shortly after, it was announced that she'd be rebooting The Chronicles of Narnia franchise for Netflix, following Disney's attempts to build a movie saga out of the classic book series in the 2000s.

Disney's Narnia reboots came at a pivotal moment for fantasy films, as they...

Ukraine’s Oleksandr Usyk joined Mike Tyson, Lennox Lewis, Joe Frazier, Jack Dempsey, Joe Louis, Muhammad Ali and Floyd Patterson as the only undisputed champions by winning a split decision over Tyson Fury. The fight took place at Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The previously undefeated Fury was convinced he won the fight. But the scorecards favored Usyk.

“I believe I won that fight,” Fury said to Dazn.“I believe he won a few of the rounds, but I won the majority of them. … We all put on a good fight, best we could do. And, you know, his country is at war, so people are siding with someone with a country at war. But make no mistake, I won that fight in my opinion, and I’ll be back.”

Fury and Usyk reportedly have a rematch clause in their contract.

Longtime HBO Boxing Broadcaster Larry Merchant In Critical Care At L.A. Hospital – Report
Image
Longtime boxing commentator Larry Merchant was rushed to a hospital in Los Angeles last night and is in the critical care unit, according to a report.

The 92-year-old broadcaster, best known for his long stint with HBO, was taken to a Los Angeles hospital around 6 p.m./Pt Thursday, according to TMZ, which sites sources with direct knowledge of the situation.

Merchant was a staple of HBO’s boxing coverage from 1978 until his retirement in 2012. He provided commentary for such HBO programs as HBO World Championship Boxing, HBO Boxing After Dark and various HBO pay-per-view boxing telecasts. He offered expert analysis opposite his longtime partner at the mic, Jim Lampley, who provided the blow-by-blow.

After HBO discontinued its regular boxing coverage in 2018, ESPN boxing analyst Dan Rafael, who considered Merchant among the all-time great boxing broadcasters, quoted Merchant as saying about HBO’s boxing coverage, “Once upon a time we were a promising kid.

‘Big Brother’ Unveils Duty Of Care Protocols

Big Brother housemates will have to abide by the same social media blackout as Love Island contestants while those working on the show will be regularly reminded of Banijay’s Bullying and Harassment, Grievance and Whistleblowing Policies, as ITV shares its duty of care protocols for the reboot. Kicking off Sunday, Big Brother returns to British TV screens after five years off air and ITV and Banijay label Initial have been stringent in their approach to duty of care, given that conflict shows such as the Jeremy Kyle Show have been axed while Big Brother has been off air. ITV’s welfare package includes the social media blackout that means housemates’ family and friends will not be asked not to post content on individual social media accounts for the duration of their time in the house. Housemates will also undergo psychological and medical...

Verdi Productions Gears Up to Release ‘Junction,’ ‘Knockout Blonde,’ Heather Graham’s ‘Chosen Family’ in 2024 (Exclusive)
Image
Verdi Productions, run by Chad A. Verdi, Paul Luba, Chad Verdi, Jr.

and Michelle Verdi, plans to release three films in 2024 that were previously put on hold since actors were unable to promote work during the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.

“Workers in the film industry are getting financially destroyed by these strikes, whether it’s actors, writers, directors or crew. Most of these individuals were already working multiple jobs to get by,” Verdi said in a statement. “This widespread production shutdown didn’t hurt the top 1% in the industry but ruined many people who work week-to-week and paycheck-to-paycheck. It’s very unfortunate to see. Let’s get our union members a fair deal so that they can get back to doing what they love.”

In partnership with Vmi Worldwide, Verdi Productions will release “Junction” in January. The film follows the modern-day opioid crisis through three different viewpoints: the CEO of a pharmaceutical company,...

Mills Lane Dies: TV Judge And Boxing Referee Of The Tyson-Holyfield “Bite Fight” Was 85
Image
Mills Lane, the flinty boxer turned referee who became a judge in Washoe County, Nv before segueing to his own courtroom TV show, has died. His son Tommy Lane confirmed the news to the Reno Gazette Journal. The boxing hall of famer was 85.

A familiar face to boxing fans not just for his presence but also for his pre-fight catchphrase “Let’s get it on!”, Lane reached the peak of his popularity after being the third man in the ring for the 1997 heavyweight title fight between Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield in which Tyson bit part of Holyfield’s ear off. The diminutive Lane — who himself fought at 147 pounds — was the one who pried the two apart and, his own shirt stained with Holyfield’s blood, later disqualified Tyson.

Mills Lane tries to separate Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield after Tyson bit Holyfield’s ear in the third round of...

Mike TV Review
Image
Plot: Mike is an unauthorized and no-holds-barred look at the life of Mike Tyson – and it is one wild ride. The 8-episode limited series explores the tumultuous ups and downs of Tyson’s boxing career and personal life – from being a beloved global athlete to a pariah and back again. Focusing the lens on Mike Tyson, the series examines class in America, race in America, fame and the power of media, misogyny, the wealth divide, the promise of the American Dream and ultimately our own role in shaping Mike’s story.

Review: Mike Tyson is a divisive and controversial figure in pop culture. For sports fans, he remains one of the most exciting and talented boxers to ever wear the heavyweight championship belt. For some, he is the hilarious cameo that made The Hangover one of the biggest hits of 2009. For still others, he is a convicted rapist with a...

‘Ru Paul’s Drag Race All-Stars 7×02’ Review
Image
It has been recorded in previous Drag Race reviews how I believe that a musical challenge on the opening episode is the perfect way to open any season! On regular seasons of Drag Race, these lyric writing challenges give the queens an opportunity to introduce themselves to the audience which is especially important for early eliminations. For the first episode of all winners Drag Race All-Stars, the queens had to write, record and perform an original verse to Ru Paul’s song “Legends” that matched the prestige of the extremely successful queens involved. This song was the perfect opportunity for the queens to reintroduce themselves to the viewers (as one of them competed just over twelve years ago) but also allowed them to inject their performance with bucket loads of personality that reminds everyone why they won their original seasons! The track itself is available on Spotify and has been...

Anuel AA Takes a Well-Earned Victory Lap on ‘Las Leyendas Nunca Mueren’
Image
Since the earliest days of hip-hop supremacy, rappers have likened themselves to legends–whether on the mic, in the streets, or even between the sheets. Braggadocio has always been part of Puerto Rican rapper Anuel AA’s modus operandi, from his earliest underground recordings right up to today. Now he sells out sports arenas and cultivates lucrative brand partnerships, making good on those outsize boasts.

With Las Leyendas Nunca Mueren, his third solo album and first since the less-than-godlike Ozuna team-up Los Dioses, Anuel turns to another field where self-reliant boldness pays out big: sports.

Donald Trump To Provide Boxing Commentary For Triller’s Evander Holyfield-Vitor Belfort Bout On 9/11
Image
Donald Trump has long fancied himself a boxing expert.

In the ’90s, he put on the Mike Tyson-Michael Spinks bout at his Atlantic City casino. As the 45th President of the United States, he pardoned heavyweight champion Jack Johnson in an Oval Office ceremony attended by Lennox Lewis, Deontay Wilder and Sylvester Stallone. He also claimed to have won $20 million betting on Evander Holyfield when he upset Mike Tyson in 1996, though no sports book could ever confirm Trump placed such a bet.

That last story may surface again on Saturday, when the former president will “provide guest commentary” for the heavyweight boxing match between former champion Holyfield, 58, and former UFC champ Vitor Belfort, 44. The bout is set for Saturday, September 11 at the Hard Rock in Hollywood, Florida. It’s promoted by Triller, the social media platform co-owned by former Relativity Media boss Ryan Kavanaugh.

Trump’s commentary will be available on a “gamecast,...

30 New Movies Hit VOD This Weekend, Including Michael Bay’s Pandemic Thriller
Image
The weekend is almost upon as, and as the theatrical schedule remains a barren wasteland until at least the beginning of next year, the weekly onslaught of new VOD releases have arrived to try and entice folks who’ve run out of things to watch on the various streaming services at their disposal that they haven’t seen a handful of times already.

There are a whopping 30 titles flooding the market this weekend, but the bad news is that none of them are what would exactly be called appointment viewing. Pick of the bunch is arguably The Godfather, Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone, which sees Francis Ford Coppola return to the closing chapter of his sprawling crime saga and deliver a brand new edit. The early reactions are that he’s greatly improved the original cut, but still not enough to see it enter the rarefied air of the first two installments,...

Lennox: The Untold Story review – a ringside seat for the rise of a champ
Lennox Lewis
Dr Dre narrates as friends and nemeses appear before camera to shed light on the life of boxing’s most anodyne superstar

If there’s one world heavyweight champion whose legend needs a little burnishing, it’s Lennox Lewis, and this documentary profile does a decent nuts-and-bolts job. It’s very much the authorised version, with Lewis, his wife, various sidemen, and longtime friend/antagonist Mike Tyson getting in front of the camera to say what a great guy Lewis is, and Dr Dre providing a supercharged voiceover narration.

Perhaps it’s true that Lewis has been hampered by his lack of an especially colourful personality; being neither a shameless lawbreaker nor a press-conference shouter, he tends to come over as rather anodyne. You can’t say by the end of this you are hanging on Lewis’s every word, but the film-makers take care to shoehorn in a couple of respectable chatshow gags,...
