Exclusive: Veteran actor Jasper Cole and director Lillee Jean Trueman have boarded author and producer David P. Perlmutter’s planned TV series Write to Kill. Trueman will executive produce the series, which follows an aspiring author, cursed with writer’s block and ridden with debt, who is offered a huge amount of money to commit a heinous crime. Charlotte Kirk is signed on to star and snooker star Jimmy White will make a cameo. Already attached to the cast are Billy Hayes (Midnight Express), Elena Sanchez (Hunger Games), Sean Cronin (Mission Impossible), Rich Graff (Making Of The Mob), Amber Doig-Thorne (Winnie The Pooh – Blood and Honey), Brooke Lewis Bellas (Sinatra Club), Vanessa Eichholz (Hellboy), David Kallaway (Blacklist), and Jack Hudson (Accomplice). Perlmutter and Michael Gorman of Kat Harvey Films have written the pilot and shooting is planned for New York and London.

Nicky Whelan and Miles Fisher will get top billing in the indie film, A Christmas Arrangement, which is currently filming in Los Angeles. Jake Helgren is directing the holiday romance pic. Daphne Zuniga, Julie McNiven, Leslie Easterbrook (Police Academy) and Clayton Chitty (When Calls the Heart) costar. Whelan star as flower shop owner Poppy Benson who enters the annual Holiday Floral Show for a chance to win the $5,000 grand prize. Standing in her way is Garrett Hurley (Fisher), the underappreciated protégé of florist extraordinaire Blair Covington (Zuniga). While Poppy and Garrett’s rivalry heats up on the flower show floor, an undeniable romance begins amidst a whimsical holiday backdrop. Ali Spuck and Casie Tabanou wrote the script, which is being produced by Autumn Federici via The Ninth House. Executive producers are Jim Klock and Stephanie Slack.

First images from Neil Johnson’s ‘Evolution War’
Last week brought the breaking news of the upcoming sci-fi action thriller Evolution War from director Neil Johnson, and now we finally get a peek into the images from the film.

Tracey Birdsall, whose extensive credits just this year include the award-winning Sony release Rogue Warrior: Robot Fighter and the romantic comedy released just two weeks ago Who’s Jenna…?, plays Angel-d, a hero of the great machine war who returns to Earth to discover a terrible plague has wiped out humanity in the science-fiction movie. She is forced to build an army of robots to battle creatures that are taking over the surface of the Earth.

The Neil Johnson directed Evolution War, described as a mix of Terminator and Pacific Rim also features Marilyn Ghiglioti (Clerks), Brooke Lewis (Starship: Rising), Tony Gibbons (who previously voiced Hoagland in Rogue Warrior: Robot Fighter) and in her first feature film, Vishani Miller.

Neil Johnson & Tracey Birdsall reunite for sci-fi film ‘Evolution War’
It has been announced that Neil Johnson will direct Evolution War, a Terminator-esque science fiction film headlined by award-winning actress Tracey Birdsall – a movie that marks Johnson’s fourteenth(!) ilm in the directors chair

The film reunites Birdsall & Johnson, who have collaborated together on several films, including the upcoming The Time War. Dread Central Accepts Als #IceBucketChallenge; Challenges Adam Green, Joe Lynch, and Brooke Lewis
A few days ago the filmmakers behind the flick Muck challenged us to take the Als Ice Bucket Challenge. We nutted up (and our nuts have been hiding since), did it, and offered a challenge of our own!

Like those who have come before us, we put a horror twist on the challenge by filling our buckets with ice, water, and of course 2 pints of stage blood as a means to do something good while frightening our neighbors at the same time.

Being that I had "blood" in my eyes and my body was still in shock, I didn't get my partner Jon Condit as good as he got me, but holy shit, let me tell you guys... that was rough. The liquid was indescribably cold... but hey... good cause, right? Adam, Joe, Brooke? You're up!

First Images Show Off a Truly Killer Rack
Indie film company Slaughtered Lamb Productions has released the first set of stills from Killer Rack, a horror comedy shooting at the Pierce Arrow Film Arts Center in Buffalo, New York. Check 'em out right here!

The film, written by Paul McGinnis, is directed by Gregory Lamberson (Slime City Massacre, Dry Bones) and is co-produced by Lamberson, McGinnis, and Rod Durick (Filming the Undead: How to Make Your Own Zombie Movie).

Newcomer Jessica Zwolak stars as Betty, a young woman who discovers her new breast implants are man-eating monsters. Debbie Rochon co-stars as Dr. Cate Thulu, Lloyd Kaufman plays psychiatrist Howard Foin, and Brooke Lewis voices the titular monsters.
