(1996) He acted in Sam Shepard's play, "Buried Child", at the Steppenwolf Theatre Company in Chicago, Illinois with James Gammon also in the cast. The crew included Gary Sinise (director), Robert Brill (scenic designer), Kevin Rigdon (lighting designer) and Rob Milburn (sound designer).

(1980) Co-starred with Jim Beaver (Deadwood (2004)], Supernatural (2005)) in two plays, Macbeth and Last Meeting of the Knights of the White Magnolia, on tour in 1980. Levine played significant roles in each and also understudied Beaver, and had to go on for him for several performances of Macbeth when Beaver was injured in a fight scene.
