BroadwayCon, the annual three-day fan convention that was held virtually earlier this year due to the Covid pandemic, will return to in-person programming for the 2022 edition.

The 2022 BroadwayCon is set for February 18–20, 2022, at the Manhattan Center and the New Yorker Hotel. Event organizers announced the return to in-person programming today.

The event’s initial slate of anticipated participants include Anthony Rapp, BroadwayCon’s Co-Founder and original cast member of Rent, Andrew Barth Feldman, and Carolee Carmello, Erin Quill, Fredi Walker-Browne, Ilana Levine, Jacqueline B. Arnold, Jennifer Ashley Tepper, Judy Kuhn, Lesli Margherita, Nik Walker, Ryann Redmond, and Thayne Jasperson. Additional guests will be announced at a later date.

The cat's out of the bag, or rather the cast is off, as former Evan Hansens Ben Platt and Noah Galvin are dating. Recently podcast host and Broadway alum Ilana Levine was invited to do a live podcast event at Notre Dame University and she decided to interview her husband, actor Dominic Fumusa. Known for his starring role on television in Nurse Jackie opposite Edie Falco and his starring role on Broadway in Wait Until Dark- Dominic was a perfect fit on the Notre Dame campus because he began his college career a football player but acting quickly became his passion . Manhattan Theatre Club’s world premiere of Richard Greenberg’s The Perplexed has completed its cast with Gregg Edelman and Eric William Morris.

The fall slate of new and returning fiction podcasts has been released by Gimlet, led by cyber-thriller Motherhacker, in which a single mother (Carrie Coon) journeys through the dark web.

Starting in October, Gimlet will be releasing one fiction series a month through the end of the year, including its first scripted renewals since Homecoming season 2. Streamer Spotify bought Gimlet Media and fellow podcasting company Anchor earlier this year for a reported $340 million. The newly announced slate reflects a ramping up of the production pace.

Besides Motherhacker, Gimlet will also unveil The Horror of Dolores Roach for a second season, wherein listeners can hear the latest from Roach (Daphne Rubin-Vega) and her life underground. Also back is The Two Princes, with an update on Prince Rupert and Prince Amir’s love story and the adventures they find along the way.

Gimlet’s executive producer for scripted fiction is Mimi O’Donnell.

NEW YORK -- Jason Alexander and Judith Light have joined Robert Cary's Ira and Abby: A Divorce Comedy, which also will feature cameos from Saturday Night Live vets Darrell Hammond and Chris Parnell. Alexander plays Abby's therapist in the screwball comedy from writer-star Jennifer Westfeldt and producer Brad Zions of Breakout Pictures, the team behind the indie hit Kissing Jessica Stein. Light plays the mother of Ira (Chris Messina, Six Feet Under) opposite Robert Klein as Ira's dad. After a chain of infidelities among the characters, a climactic scene brings the parents of Abby (Fred Willard, Frances Conroy) and Ira and the impulsively wed couple together with their six therapists (including Alexander, Parnell and Peter Hirsch). "It's all pretty loony," said Westfeldt, who recruited her Our Town stage partner Donna Murphy and Stein co-stars Ilana Levine and Peter Hirsch to play therapists.

Actress-writer Jennifer Westfeldt is reteaming with her Kissing Jessica Stein producer Brad Zions of Breakout Pictures on her script Ira & Abby: A Divorce Story. Director Robert Cary (Anything But Love) will start filming the neurotic screwball comedy, budgeted at around $2.5 million, on Nov. 12 in Manhattan. As the title characters, Westfeldt and Chris Messina (Road) marry on the spur of the moment, leading to a chain of affairs involving their parents (Frances Conroy, Fred Willard and Robert Klein), exes and therapists. Additional casting is expected before the 26-day shoot, said Westfeldt, who executive produces with Jennifer Todd and Ilana Levine, along with co-producer Declan Baldwin. Westfeldt said she hopes to cast other members of the Stein cast as well as six celebrity therapists for cameos in the film's finale.
