    • Meyer Levin was born on October 7, 1905 in Chicago, Illinois, USA. He was a writer and director, known for Le génie du mal (1959), Lo Tafhidenu (1947) and La maison de mon père (1947). He was married to Tereska Torres and Mabel Hall Schamp. He died on July 9, 1981 in Jerusalem, Israel.

  • American novelist and journalist, famous for his tautly-written work "Compulsion" (1956), based on the famous Leopold-Loeb murder case.
  • Father: Joseph Levin; Mother: Golda Levin.
  • Having gone on a European vacation with future actor Will Geer, he wasn't able to cover the court trial for Leopold & Loeb, for which he later based his bestseller, Compulsion.
  • Even though his book 'Compulsion' helped get Nathan Leopold out of jail, Leopold wound up suing the book's publisher, making Levin have to take a trip to Leopold's home in Puerto Rico to take notes on what he found liable.
