Danny Dyer in Marching Powder (2025)
Win some Marching Powder merchandise
Danny Dyer in Marching Powder (2025)
To celebrate the home entertainment release of “proper naughty” comedy Marching

Powder – available on digital now and on DVD and Blu-ray 2nd June, we’re giving away a playful Marching Powder plate as well as a poster signed by director Nick Love and stars

Danny Dyer and Stephanie Leonidas.

Set in the irreverent and profane world of cult classic The Football Factory, Marching Powder is a hilarious and action-packed big screen comedy that reunites Danny Dyer with acclaimed British director, Nick Love.

The film follows the story of Jack Jones (Danny Dyer), an aging, drug-taking football hooligan who feels increasingly irrelevant in today’s society as he struggles to keep his family together. Hooked on drugs and adrenaline; and struggling to resist the pull of his firm of fellow football fans, Jack is arrested after some violent matchday exploits and given six weeks to turn his life around, or else...

Marching Powder
Image
You can make good films about bad people, and certainly not every redemption story has to result in a sinner becoming a saint. But making a film about a bad person who doesn’t want redemption, who seems driven by grievance and who expresses his contempt for and sense of superiority to the audience – without any obvious justification for that feeling – is a tougher sell. Director Nick Love relies on star Danny Dyer’s considerable charm in an attempt to do so here, but even he can’t quite sell it.

Dyer's Jack is a strange figure. He married into money, so he has a nice house, beautiful wife and son – at a fee-paying school – and no obvious material concerns. He spends his time getting off his face and into fights at lower-league football matches – until a prison sentence forces him to re-think his approach. But Love can’t seem...

‘Marching Powder’ Review
Image
Stars: Danny Dyer, Stephanie Leonidas, Calum MacNab, Dean Harrison, Arty Dyer, Philippe Brenninkmeyer, Phillip Ray Tommy | Written and Directed by Nick Love

Danny Dyer reteams with director Nick Love for Marching Powder, a sweary geezer comedy-drama that feels like a throwback (or should that be a dragback?) to the early ’00s. It marks their fifth collaboration – following Goodbye Charlie Bright (2001), The Football Factory (2004), The Business (2005) and Outlaw (2005), as well as Dyer’s return to the big screen after a ten-year absence.

In some ways, Marching Powder could be seen as a sequel to The Football Factory, since Dyer once again plays a coke-snorting (the title is a euphemism for cocaine), c-word-dropping part-time football hooligan. The difference is, well, he’s a lot older this time around, and the film does a decent job of questioning his life choices.

Dyer plays Jack Jones, a 45-year-old geezer who still indulges in coke...

Danny Dyer in Marching Powder (2025)
Marching Powder Review
Danny Dyer in Marching Powder (2025)
Charging headfirst into controversy with no apologies and a bag full of wince-inducing inappropriate jokes, Marching Powder does exactly what’s on the tin – it knows its intended demographic inside out. Directed by Nick Love — the man behind The Football Factory — this new film drags viewers into the chaotic world of Jack Jones, played by Danny Dyer, a former football hooligan whose glory days are long behind him. After yet another brawl lands him in court, Jack is handed one final chance to sort himself out — but anyone familiar with Love’s work can probably guess that redemption won’t come easy.

Jack’s sentence involves keeping his nose clean – literally and figuratively – but between old mates urging him to neck whatever drugs are on offer and a general refusal to grow up, Jack finds it hard to stay on the straight and narrow. His chaotic antics put him at...

Danny Dyer in Marching Powder (2025)
Danny Dyer & Stephanie Leonidas on Marching Powder and working with director Nick Love
Danny Dyer in Marching Powder (2025)
Marching Powder marks the much-anticipated reunion of director Nick Love and his iconic leading man Danny Dyer, bringing fans back into the gritty adrenaline-fuelled world of The Football Factory. This time, Dyer plays Jack, a middle-aged football hooligan clinging to the chaos of his youth, despite a life that’s falling apart at the seams.

Jack’s world revolves around a messy cocktail of matchday violence, heavy drug use and family tensions. The whole thing comes to a head when he’s arrested after one clash too many. Given six weeks to clean up his act or face prison time, Jack is forced to confront his demons, navigate his crumbling marriage to Dani (Stephanie Leonidas) and dodge the influence of his hard-as-nails father-in-law.

HeyUGuys sat down for a chat with Dyer and Leonidas and Dyer to talk about the fun they had working on the movie. We got the chance...

Bill Skarsgård and FKA twigs in The Crow (2024)
5lbs of Pressure – drugs, murder and a likable Rory Culkin in low-key crime drama
Bill Skarsgård and FKA twigs in The Crow (2024)
Dressed like an extra from The Crow, the actor plays a tragicomic supporting character in this drama that feels like a TV pilot show

Set in New York City and filmed in Manchester, England, here is a film that aims to play like a feature-length episode of The Wire or The Sopranos. Naturally, that is not an easy target to hit, and the result, while decent enough, falls somewhat short but is still watchable.

Luke Evans plays Adam, a nice guy who made a terrible mistake in his youth: shooting another young man and going to prison for 16 years. His partner, Donna (Stephanie Leonidas), has brought up their son Jimmy to believe his dad simply skipped town and abandoned them, so she’s none too chuffed to find Adam back in the neighbourhood and desperate to reconnect with a now-teenaged Jimmy (Rudy Pankow).

5lbs of Pressure Review | Gripping Family Drama Elevates Crime Thriller
Image
Luke Evans shines in a powerful performance alongside the excellent Rory Culkin and Alex Pettyfer in this emotionally resonant crime drama. The intricate family drama is realistic, but illogical writing weakens the narrative, making for a mixed viewing experience. The film weaves multiple characters and plots together, providing an engaging experience despite flaws in execution and timing.

5lbs of Pressure follows a recently paroled murderer as he returns to his old neighborhood in a desperate quest to meet the son he last saw as a child. His presence reopens old wounds and vendettas as various criminals struggle to deal with an unwelcome presence. The well-acted film vacillates between searing drama and clunky violence because writer-director Phil Allocco nails the family themes but struggles to believably tie every loose thread together. A clearer focus on the primary arc would have created a more concise film.

Adam (Luke Evans) meets with his...

Action Thriller '5lbs of Pressure' Trailer with Luke Evans & Rory Culkin
Image
"Five pounds of trigger pressure – so your aim, never off." Lionsgate has revealed an official trailer for the film 5lbs of Pressure, an action thriller by filmmaker Phil Allocco. Filmed mostly in the UK even though this is an American production. Yet another generic crime thriller with the same characters and plot we've seen often recently. Trying to start over, Adam searches for redemption returning to his old neighborhood to put to rest his demons, though he comes under new pressure when the brother of the man he killed seeks revenge on him. Meanwhile, Mike, is trying to escape a life of crime living under the thumb of his gangster Uncle Leff. The movie stars Luke Evans as Adam, Rory Culkin as Mike, Zac Adams, Rudy Pankow, Stephanie Leonidas, Savannah Steyn, Lorraine Burroughs, and Alex Pettyfer as Leff. This is not a bad trailer, it just doesn't really convince me this is worth watching.

Roger Allam and Shaun Evans in Les enquêtes de Morse (2012)
Endeavour Season 7 Recap: Venice, a Doomed Love Affair, Morse vs Thursday
Roger Allam and Shaun Evans in Les enquêtes de Morse (2012)
Warning: contains spoilers for Endeavour season 7.

In the closing moments of Endeavour’s seventh season, Morse lost the woman he loved. Violetta (Stephanie Leonidas) died in his arms after sacrificing her life by jumping in front of the bullet her husband Ludo meant for Morse. If it weren’t for Fred Thursday, Morse might well have followed her. Fearing his bagman was in danger, Fred had left his and Win’s Christmas celebrations and rushed to Venice, where he saved Morse’s life by shooting the villainous Ludo, who fell – apparently dead – into a canal.

Before Morse lost Violetta, he came very close to losing Fred too. Over the year that season seven’s episodes ‘Oracle’, ‘Raga’ and ‘Zenana’ unfurled, a chilly distance developed between the pair. It culminated in a stand-up fight over a dead body, a telling off from both Max de Bryn and Jim Strange, Morse requesting a transfer to Kidlington,...

When Crackle decided to reboot Guy Ritchie's Snatch for TV, plenty of people dismissed it, thinking it wouldn't amount to much. Since it debuted in March, however, the Rupert Grint-starring crime tale has become the streaming service's most-watched original drama series.

‘Snatch: the Series’ looks amazing!
It’s already great to hear there’s going to be a series on the cult classic Snatch. It’s even better to see the wide array of actors Crackle signed on. But now a teaser trailer was just released… and wow, next week cannot come fast enough.

Crackle is set to release ten one-hour episodes of the new Snatch series next Thursday, March 16. Alex De Rakoff (who has previous experience with Grand Theft Auto) is directing the series – as well as wrote several of the episodes, and stars your childhood actors all grown up.

Completely unrecognizable from his Harry Potter past, Rupert Grint sheds Ron Weasley for Charlie Cavendis– and he looks good. Phoebe Dynevor, of Waterloo Road and Prisoners Wives, plays Lotti Mott, while Scream Queens’ Lucien Laviscount plays Billy Ayers and American Gothic’s Stephanie Leonidas plays Chloe Koen. Also in the show include Tamer Hassan (Kickass...

Trailer for the New Series Based on Guy Ritchie’s Snatch
Guy Ritchie’s cult classic film Snatch has been adapted into a new series for Crackle. It obviously doesn’t look as good as the original film, but it could still end up being an entertaining series to watch!

The cult classic film Snatch is now a high-stakes, high-octane Crackle Original Series. Get in on the action, gangster mentality, heists and rapid-fire dialogue that earned the original movie a shite-load of fans. Inspired by a real life heist in London, the Snatch series centers on a group of twenty-something, up and coming hustlers who stumble upon a truck load of stolen gold bullion and are suddenly thrust into the high-stakes world of organized crime. The boys must quickly learn to navigate the treacherous waters of London’s underworld as rogue cops, gypsy fighters, international mobsters and local villains descend.

Rupert Grint’s Hustler Hits Up The London Crime Scene In First Trailer For Snatch
Though it hasn’t garnered the same traction as, say, 24: Legacy or FX’s acclaimed Fargo, Crackle is in the process of rebooting Snatch, a serialized version of Guy Ritchie’s cult crime caper that’s due to premiere in exactly two months’ time.

Comprised of 10 episodes in total, the Snatch of 2017 is headed up by former Harry Potter star Rupert Grint. He’ll play Charlie Cavendish, a budding hustler who makes a foray into London’s seedy crime scene, only to find himself in deep with the sharks. The high-stakes world of organized crime awaits, though Crackle’s interpretation looks to be a much more refined version of Ritchie’s 2000 original.

That’s a little disappointing, particularly when you consider that the gritty, unforgiving world of Snatch is part and parcel of the film’s charm, but we’re willing to lend Crackle and the creative team the...

Killjoys Season 2 Episode 10 Review: How to Kill Friends and Influence People
There's nothing I love more than closing out a season with positive renewal news... Yay!

Especially since Killjoys seriously upped the ante in its second season. The incredible world building opened up, our characters evolved plus we met a few new players, and the writing was consistently terrific. We laughed. We cried. We were shocked, but in the end always entertained.

I have zero complaints about this finale. They even brought Clara back and gave us an outstanding space battle. How about those VFX guys?

Yeah, I could not be more satisfied with Killjoys Season 2 Episode 10.

Killjoys Season 2 Episode 1 Review: Dutch and the Real Girl
Good ol' D'avin said it best early in the episode, "Missed you bastards!"

Luckily for us, this is no green-goo induced dream and Killjoys is finally back for another run. I am thrilled we get to spend another season with this incredible cast and crew. I can't even imagine not getting a third season, so I'm starting the #RenewKilljoys campaign early.

I didn't see the twists of Killjoys Season 2 Episode 1 coming, which is part of the fun.

Let me start by saying I loved that this installment picked up right where we left off, and that we didn't spend three episodes searching for D'avin. At just 10 episodes per season, there's really no time to waste.

While the tighter storytelling does away with any filler episodes, it also means the season will be over far too quickly. Take Game of Thrones for example, we've got to wait a year now to return to Westeros.

American Gothic: Season One Ratings
CBS is hoping for killer ratings with their new murder mystery series, American Gothic. It seems like it's been conceived as a one season series but, if it's successful enough, they'll surely find a way to bring it back (ala Wayward Pines and Under the Dome) for season two. If it's a flop, the show could be cancelled and pulled off the air. What will happen? Stay tuned.

The first season of American Gothic revolves around a well-to-do Boston family. The Hawthornes are reeling in the wake of the chilling discovery that someone in their midst may be a serial killer. The cast includes Virginia Madsen, Juliet Rylance, Justin Chatwin, Stephanie Leonidas, Gabriel Bateman, Megan Ketch, and Elliot Knight.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show's likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the...
