Gus Leonard(1859-1939)

French-born actor, who began on the stage in San Francisco while still a child in the 1860s. In later years, specialised in a drunken waiter act in vaudeville and, finding comedy his forte, entered films in 1915. Was often cast in multiple parts in the same film and thus rarely seen without heavy make-up or disguise.
