He co-created the franchise of John Wick (2014) with Chad Stahelski, on which he also served as producer. David directed Atomic Blonde (2017) starring Charlize Theron. David also directed the box office smash and critically acclaimed Deadpool 2 (2018). He is also the director of Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw (2019).

- Martial artist, skilled in several arts such as: Muay Thai, Shootwrestling, boxing, wrestling, movie fights, and was a national competitor in Kickboxing.
- Leitch's passion for martial arts came at a young age, watching Kung Fu Theater. Having no martial arts schools in Kohler, Wisconsin, Leitch fed his obsession with books and magazines, training himself in the garage. He finally found classes at the Dan Inosanto academy while studying at the University of Minnesota.
