The actor Robert Leffler began his career as an opera singer before he joined the film business in 1918. There he directed his first movie following his passion with "Der TaktstockRichard Wagners" (1918).

From 1919 Robert Leffler also became a demanded movie actor, first in "Im Schatten des Glücks" (1919) and "Angelo, das Mysterium des Schlosses Drachenegg (1919).

In the 20s followed numerous engagements and he impersonated very different support roles.

With the rise of the sound film he retired from the film business. Only for the productions "Elisabeth von Österreich" (1931) and "Onkel Bräsig" 19(36) he appeared in front of the camera for the last time.
